- The Axial SCX10 Jeep Wrangler project has been a quiet secret for quite some time.....Until now!
Ever since early march when I last drove this truck threw some freezing cold water and ended up blowing the motor and ESC. I have been slowly rebuilding this jeep making it better then it was before! With new ideas and new looks....This jeep is going to be more scale then it could have ever imagined!
I encourage you to watch this video fully on this too see everything that I have done to it up to this point. Thiers a lot of little parts and scale items, that have gone into this already.

+RcNickster HAhaha! I loved that joke! And yes i certainly dose. It also dose not help that i have a set idea of how i want it to look. That the price of something wont turn me away. Ill simply just wait till i can afford it! Haha
Regarding a brushless system, the Hobbywing Justock ESC is very good, it's not waterproof out the box but it's easily dissembled so you can coat the boards in Plastidip. For a brushless motor, I've been running a Vampire Racing 21.5t with a high torque rotor, I've also dissembled it and coated the sensor board in Plastidip. This setup is working great for me and not that expensive either.

Looks good matt! I used rare earth magnets to mount the body on mine, I epoxied then to a cutoff stock body mount and glued them to the body on the front and for the back I just used the spare mount to hold the rear of the body where the spare holder holds the cage and it works great and no holes in the body

RC Overload hey man I just got the SSD D60 axles and did a quick unpackaging and working a sort of install video and was wondering why you didn't cover these more?
It something i want to do later on. however the video was getting long enough and i dont want to give information i dont know yet. i want to be able to test them out fully before going more in depth with them. I already herd when they came out some people were having issues with them as well.
RC Overload gotcha, good point sir, I look forward to your opinion on them.
I'm not sure how you mounted the tires but you need to install the outer bead to the wheel face (front ring) then install it to the tire. The 4 or 5 larger bolts on the rear is what holds the bead one. If you went around and installed the 26+ screws on the wheel face to seat the bead you did it the much much tougher way. I just installed some 1.9 KMC's on Pro-Lines and they were a pain.

hi, great video. I personally would recommend a brushless motor low kv ( senserless motor ) running a 3s lipo. Because most don't know brushless motors are water resistant, already. Censored brushless motors are NOT water resistant. The open censored portion of the brushless motor.
I recommend Turnigy Trackstar 1/10 17.0T 2400KV Brushless from Hobby King and 45 or 60amp esc.

I personally run a overall gear ratio of 35.8 to 1 in my Wraith. With a 4000kv sensored brushless motor on 3s lipo.

+RC Overload I've been seeing low kv 4 pole motors on Ebay going for less than $30 including shipping. most common 3000kv 4 pole non sensored
I always had better luck with brushed systems in my scale rc's, the Tekin 35t combo is a good system. Cant wait to see the finish product, looking good so far Mr. Overload.

I have the Atomik Red 120A sensored brushless system in my scx10, with the program box it's easy to setup for crawling, but it's not waterproof.

make sure you use lock tight on those punisher shafts on the little tiny bolts on the u joint I lost them already and I had used blue lock tight they still fell off

RC Overload there is nothing worse than having your day cut short because of something as tiny as a driveshaft setscrew!
The tekin craller system is great but a bit more expensive than most brushless systems

Great Video. I'm trying to get back into the hobby after about 4 years. I have a tamiya high lift that I've had for years, but that truck is difficult to work on. I also just bought me the axail power wagon and I am looking to upgrading it as well. Any tips for those of us coming back into the hobby?

i like it. i am running 90mm kings. 2.2s. that rig would fit 2.2s well. though i know not scale.

awesome ! Quick question, when you get the bigger shocks (like yours), do you need to order any extra mounting parts or does it fit on the stock?
+MrSlapYa It fits exactly the same. only difference is these shocks are a tiny bit taller. otherwise everything works the same and it gives you a slightly higher ride height and more flex
Put a brushed motor as it has more torque. Brushless has more top end speed. Put a 550 or better 1

Matt what did you use to make the king shocks work, I recently got mine and now they just fit a little different. And they make the shock tower stick out/ pulls it out to the outside of the truck
Hey Matt what shock size do you prefer I know you had 90mm hot racing and now have king shocks 100mm. I'm debating which size of shock to go too I do more rock crawling than trailing so I would like to know what would be better?

+darkriverracing22 Haha...Yes i do apologize about that. I got that from Knights Customs on Shapeways he sells the mount that attaches right to the battery tray. Its very easy to install. Ill go over more in depth of each part as the series unfolds.

+Braden Wiseman I would highly recommend it! Just be warned its very likely that you will need to do some upgrading. Their are some weak points to it. But heck....Dont most people upgrade their trucks anyways! Haha :)

+Cooldibs depends on the ESC and motor your running. For safety sake I run a 800MAH 3s Lipo straight to the light bar. that way im not causing any excessive drain on the battery and i get a longer run time.

im not a brushless guy so i am no help lol. but i would stay brushed and go with Homes Hobbies BR-XL esc (NON WATERPROOF) you can do the waterproofing your self and for motor i would suggest the Holmes Hobbies CrawlMaster Pro 20t (you can get it in lower turn) now another thing is if your make your order as combo you can get discount here is link to combo set up holmeshobbies.com/pconf.php?productid=574
