Maybe the anchors that like to claim they're news journalists will stop being so anti Trump with everything. They're always against anything, I mean anything if Trump is for it. Stop just stop already.
It wouldn't be if we just used popular votes to decide the presidency. We're the only republic to not have direct popular vote for chief executive. We're stuck in the 1700s.
Most other countries that use the popular vote are significantly less partisian than America. Under a popular vote system, California decides the election 90%. If you crunch the numbers from 2020, it proves that you can win the popular vote despite winning 1 out of 50 states. Only reason that Trump is about to win the popular vote is because Turnout in California and New York was so low that they didn't give Harris her big 5-7 million bump. In that scenario, only 11% of the country decides the winner of the president. In this scenario, you need multiple states equal to 270 EC votes to win which as you might guess represents the majority of the population by states. Please don't forget that we're not all California. They don't represent the entire country or its interests. So why should how they vote be the only deciding factor for who wins? And in either scenario, no Republican Californian ever gets representation because the Dems out vote them 2 to 1 'negating' their votes. 1 California vote = 1 California vote, but when it comes to the popular vote 1 California vote is really worth 10 times a vote from PA or WI or even NY and VA. The EC being split by the partisan voting block for the popular winner in each state makes more sense (similar to Maine and NE but without being bound by Congressional Districts). The winner wouldn't change, but the outcome would still lead to all voters being represented properly. Because again, we're far more partisian between states or regions vs. someplace like France. Or are we going to ignore the fact that in France the popular vote winner was decided by multiple providences vs. the US where it's always decided by turnout in California? People who want the popular vote winner just want to give California what is effectively a 2nd govenor as the only state worth campaigning in is California anymore for the popular vote.
I have a college degree and I am right wing too, but when in college it was clear that men leaned right while women leaned left and women were the majority of the students.

I like the analysis of the various states and how they flipped. However, Erie wasn't really the county that decided PA for Trump. Trump's victory in PA both in 2016 and 2024 was a result of him making significant inroads into the PA 'blue belt.' The 'blue belt' refers to the various counties in Eastern PA that reliably backed Democrats in recent elections. In 2016, Bucks county was within 1% point favoring Clinton. In 2020, it was 4% favoring Biden. Democrats gained about 40K votes in 2020. In 2024, though, it was within 1% point again this time for Trump. We see similar situations in the Leigh Valley where Trump regained Northampton, flipped Monroe, and nearly flipped Lackawanna and Leigh counties. He even won Luzerne by 20 points. Erie was won by Trump, but a thinner margin than 2016. In reality, PA was decided by Trump's margins in Eastern and Northeastern PA being restored which cost Harris deeply. As for Nevada, it'd be Clark County, not Washoe. Biden won the County by around 9 points whereas Harris won it by around 2 points. Washoe County was almost exactly the same margin as it was in 2016 with Clinton, but back then, Clark was around 11 points. Trump's gains in Clark County alone gave him the victory as that small margin was enough to flip the state. Wayne county lost about 60K voters in 2024 from 2020 for Democrats. That huge margin loss is primarily what cost them in MI. They also lost heavy ground by losing Muskegon county despite holding Grand Rapids. I think that gave Republicans the win more than Kent County did. Again, I like the analysis. However, I feel like the wrong counties are getting the spot light for how they helped pushed Trump over the line.

Even in Wayne County, Harris won by a lot, but even that margin narrowed slightly. As for Florida, I think you can make the argument that Gov. Ron DeSantis' coattails even extended from his 2022 blowout win into this year as Trump in 2024 practically copied the DeSantis in 2022 right down to the same counties Dems carried - Alachua (Gainesville), Leon (Tallahassee), Gadsden (Tallahassee suburbs), Orange (Orlando) and Broward (Fort Lauderdale) - except for Harris carrying Palm Beach County, which DeSantis won. (Of course, I'm old enough to remember when the "I-4 Corridor" between Tampa and Orlando was one of the most talked about "swing corridors" in presidential elections.)
Even Palm Beach was a huge victory for Trump. He lost the county, but he reduced the losing margin from 100k to 6k votes. That's a huge win in itself.
When Biden won 2020 I didn't have an emotional breakdown, nor did I who voted for Trump in 2024 expected him to do so freaking well... Moral of the story, politics isn't my life, left wing politicians already did their damage to me for living in California
