I knew immediately what that pocket fisherman was. I remember TV commercials for that when I was young. Also that shopsmith is worth a great deal even if just for parts to repair or refurbish other old models like that. Maybe you could hold a “Make an offer sale” and let people come to salvage what they want and make you an offer on lots of stuff. Would be better than it going to landfill or scrapped.

A lot of the older World War II veterans were also survivors of the Great Depression, as my Father was. He did save everything, but he was also a neat freak, so our garage was very organized and labeled. He knew exactly where everything was and always used from his saved things before buying new. He was an orphan and a young teen trying to finish High School working nights as a dish washer in a restaurant and living in a boarding house. When the depression happened, his restaurant closed, so he lost his income and his room, no more High School. He finished High School after he retired and even went to College. Those old World War II veterans were strong and special.

Daniel, keep the Shop Smith. My dad bought one in 1962. I used it often late 1960's to 1980's. It does so much, and is tough. My dad died years ago, and it was stored in our garage. I sold it 2 years ago for $4,000. Now I wish I never sold it.

At the front of the warehouse, you could have a focus wall made of the reclaimed barn wood and then put all the antiques on display in front of it. That along with a document or plaque explaining the history of the homestead would be like having a mini museum and would preserve the items historically. Also, don’t forget to take pictures before you tear down buildings also to go on the wall.

Congratulations Arms Family. Some day you may need to add a production facility to the warehouse and produce your own merch. A ShopSmith was like a Swiss Army Knife of power tools. I believe they are still manufactured. It put all of the major power tools a shop would need on a single platform. The pocket fisherman was a huge sensation back in the day of early TV. And yes, children of the depression threw nothing away. My father was a pack rat of the first order.
That barn is simply awesome. This is going to be an awesome source of content for years to come.

They basically area a motor that you can add attachments to like a table saw, Band saw, lathe. ect ect...They are really cool machines and yes they are worth some money to right people. The more attachments you have the more they are worth by looking at what you have there you have a bunch of attachments and is prob worth a couple thousand dollars..Personally I would keep it and get it running. A lot of those old tools are worth some coin, lots of collectors out there, you might want to sell them on ebay, etc. That Shop Smith is worth some serious coin! That old barn would make for a great photography back drop!

Congratulations .. great property for a warehouse !! Will take time, but Dejay’s mom and it appears Weston is a scavenger hunter too !! A shop smith used to be a thing for those who made woodwork !! And the pocket fisherman was popular back in the day ! Can’t wait for some of the finds you come across there !

You may want to hold onto that Shop Smith. It was advertised as a five in one tool that didn't take very much space. Table saw, horizontal boring, drill press, lathe, and a large sanding disk. The band saw attachment was on the tool, and if he bought it, there may be a jointer attachment as well. The machine will convert to each tool setup in a matter of minutes, and might be useful making tables, shelving, and dividing walls for the warehouse. I grew up making a lot of stuff on Dad's Shop Smith. The other bandsaw might be worth a little money to someone that wants to get the rust off it, as well.

      X2.
I have a shop Smith from the 60's i inherited from my father, very versatile table saw.
That one looks to be newer, maybe late 70's/80's.

@@delta_glider4362 Yes, that is true. That is why I have separate machines in my shop now. The thing is, he has this now, and if it works, it can save him a lot of money as they get the warehouse up and running, plus it doesn't take as much space as they are building.

If she doesn’t take everything out of the house maybe Weston could work on selling it on Facebook or EBay. Just thinking.

My 1st thought like others- Ebay! Many would simply buy 'anything' with "antique dust" on it. There could even be a gem, coin or gold hidden in the dirt or foundation or walls! My fam found a three legged buffalo nickel in a wall of an old place built in early 1900. People been known to have dropped timecapsules into holes of bricks arounds wells. Heads up!. Congrats on the purchase!! "AF-BEST" warehouse
