I could sit around and listen to seniors tell stories all day. My imagination is ignited and I envision how things were back in the day (and they love to have people want to listen to their stories). Thank you for this. ❤️
Yes! These stories are so important, for so many good reasons - and interesting!! SO funny to hear two 90 year old people going back and forth saying they're "not the same age" because one is a month older 😊😂🤣
I’m a seventy-something senior (in years only) who heads up three nonprofit organizations while running circles around my grandkids. So I appreciate the senior “label” over old timers, old people, old codgers, etc. Thank you.
Silly face diapers are still part of the magical thinking! They must be from California LOL! People love their religion of the Boogey Virus and Biden face flags! Cut the cord and escape the cult. Stop being told what to think, little trolls!!
Nurse here. That was the cutest cake! Carlo I often think how lucky the dead and those loved ones left behind had such a loving caretaker. Well done. I wish you both many blessings on your next chapter. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I ❤️ Vincenzo with the Fendi hat!! 😂 He remembers what year everything happened in Positano, while most people can't even remember what they had for lunch! He's aged well, as he looks twenty years younger. Probably walking all those steps helped!
How amazing...Carlos family (generations) took care of the ancestors of Positano. Now he has given that oppurtunity to someone else. Best wishes for new beginnings.
Congratulations!! Carlo and to Nicki, too, on all of your accomplishments lately and for this new chapter you are just beginning! Thank you for sharing yourselves with me (and a whole lot of other people!) This was a super fun video. Peace & Prayers to you!
It is sad to close a chapter of your life Carlo, but it is also an opening to all those wonderful things you want to do. One must remember that one works to live, not live to work. So good to hear the senior citizens' stories. How often their lifestyles and history are lost.
Loved to watch Napoli, its people, and what's going on on the streets, the food and the little shops. Seeing Carlo saying good bye for the last time to the cemetery brought tears to my eyes, lovely cake and warm celebration with friends and family. Wow! How difficult must have been life 70 years ago in Positano! beautiful video, as always!
A video full of emotions and rich in contents, very touching the delivery of the keys to the new custodian of the cemetery, beautiful party, very original cake. Finally Carlo will be free to organize his days as he likes, the whole family is very happy, most of all little Holly. As usual we all anxiously await your next videos, especially those related to Christmas, thank you so much dear Nicki, we are all very fond of you!!!💓💗💖
Carlo, you've taken such great care of the cemetery! It's so beautifully maintained and lovely. That cake looked so yummy. And the stories of what it was like in Positano before the tourism. I hope you get to interview Vincenzo and Uncle Louie? and they get to regale us with what they used to do back then. It's a great history lesson for us of what things were like back then and what we take for granted now. Thank you Nikki for showing us around Italy wherever you go and that you and Carlo do take a day off every week to just relax. Blessings to both of you and to the new chapter in your lives. I can't wait for the Advent season series but don't stress yourselves out - enjoy it.
🎉 *CONGRATULATIONS CARLO!* Now every day will feel like a Sunday or perhaps a six month holiday, but twice a year. (😆). Life has officially given you permission to relax, so sit back and enjoy the journey. I wish you all the BEST in your future endeavors. Lovely party! MUCH LOVE to you, Nicki and Skye. 💞Thank you for sharing this fabulous video, sweet Nicki. xoxo
Hello dear Susan, I'm Carlo, thank you, for your sweet comments, we appreciate them very much, in this period I have very mixed feelings, it is a combination of joy, sadness, curiosity, and enthusiasm for the new adventures, and challenges that will come, I am sure of one thing, whatever will happen, I am ready to face it, I have no doubt that I have made the right choice.😘💕🥰🤩😁😁😁
@@NickiPositano Dear Carlo, Yes, I completely understand your feelings and no doubt your emotions will be up and down, especially in the next few months. Hopefully you and Nicki can get away to England and travel, as it will help you settle into this new chapter of your life. May you and Nicki have many years of joy, happiness, laughter, love and good health. I send you all my love, ALWAYS! 😘xoxoxoxo
I REALLY ENJOYED the interview with Vincenzo (I apologize for likely mis-spelling his name)! WHAT A DELIGHT he is! I LOVE listening to elders such as he! They are LIVING PAGES of history!!
there's nothing more precious than a life filled with a good family and great friends. Truly a blessing. Looks like it was an awesome retirement party. Congratulations-an onward to many more wonderful adventures! I enjoyed hearing the stories of the elder. They tend to have the best stories. And for a man nearing 90-wow! Must be the fresh Positano air and of course a good life. He looks well and happy.
Terrifically varied and thoughtfully edited video. I was moved by the recollections of the sprightly 90 year old who vividly brought back to life what life was like not just in Positano , but in so many Italian villages before modern amenities finally were introduced. The post war social history of Italy is fascinating, I hope you will get a chance to illustrate it again with some more interviews.
I don't know why .. But I was crying when Carlos was closing the gates to the Cemetary .. Like you said Nicki .. It is a sad yet exciting time .. New adventures await on the next path of your journey !
Would LOVE to hear much more from Vincenzo. Congratulations to you and Carlo for your new chapter! Carlo is a great interviewer and I'm not surprised everyone gravitates to him, he has a rare quality in that he listens and doesn't mind taking a step back. Thanks for your lovely videos, Nicki, I look forward to them every week.
Really enjoyed this video ‼ Loved listening to the older gentleman's stories, fascinating!! Carlo, congratulations on your retirement! I know you two(3 with Holly) will have many more adventures together ❣ Ciao for now❣🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🐕🐾🐾
Its so nice that there is so much care taken for cemeteries in Italy. I have visited many pioneer and old cemeteries here in the U.S. and they are always some type of destruction of headstones or no one cares about the cemetery any more. Good luck to you both on the journeys ahead!
It's big business in Italy just like theres always a shortage of housing so it is in the graveyard. You buy your family plot for the tomb. .space in at a premium. Then you pay a monthly bill for the lights etc. after some years those in the ground will be dug up and the ground reconstituted for the newly dead to be buried. Unless you purchase your spot.
Blessing upon blessing to carlo and listening to good old days was so cool. But the trip to Naples..... My favorite. Family roots just makes wanna go for pizza n pastry and to hear the passion when they speak n sing 🥰😍🥰
Congrats to Carlo on his retirement! It is a truly bittersweet moment! I retired 3 years ago and I only rember and cherish good memories! As they say in Spanish, "En hora buena, feliz retiro y adelante con esta nueva etapa de la vida!" Blessings from your fan from Puerto Rico!
My beloved once-in-a-lifetime cat died on November 18th. In my grief, seeing Carlo close the cemetery one last time is bittersweet. I think of all the families that have been grateful for his care of their loved one's last resting place.
THIS WAS FABULOUS! It made me miss Napoli, the Amalfi Coast, and my grandfather who came to the US from a small village near Karlovac in Yugoslavia when he was 15 years old. He passed away just before his 104th birthday. I could listen to those lovely gentlemen tell stories all day long! Thank you for bringing me joy through your filming!!!
Carlo, wow! Emotional and exciting at the same time. As you closed each gate, we could see how well you kept the cemetery and the beauty of your hard! Love the conversation with the 90yr old men. Awesome party for Carlo.
I have to give a *whistle & hoot 😛😚 for Luca!* How handsomely he looks! Oh my ❣ I didn’t expect to 😭 like I am, it’s just not how I’m built, but this touched my spirit.
Another wonderful video! Carlo locking up the gates for the last time was rather poignant-the end of an era, but surely the beginning of a new and happy one! Loved listening to the old timers reminisce about the old days. Invaluable to record these stories while they’re still around. Thank you, Nicki and Carlo!
Another super video filled with so much of interest. Leaving a job, especially on that you've held for such a long time, can be filled with bitter sweet moments, but you have a great future together ahead of you, discovering a new way of life and indulging in new projects. My best wishes to you both for that. It was fascinating listening to (reading) Vincento, and I look forwards to hearing more from him, and perhaps other old timers, about life pre mass tourism in the area. I hope you can also find an elder woman who could recount how life was for women in the post war era - they must of led very hard lives, but perhaps gained most by the gradual modernisations. Thank you.
Congratulations Carlos and Nicki so happy you chose this step in your lives while you are still young, healthy, happy, and able to enjoy your heart's desire in this new adventure! cheers and much love!
Lovely Video!!!! My ❤️is full watching!!! Congratulations Carlo!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Cheers to new Beginnings🍾🥂 Visiting Naples thru ur lens! Wow!! Listening to 90 year old friends talk about their Life Journey; Priceless💰 Bon Aventura!!🛵❤️🥰😘
Love your videos so much. Carlo is a free man! I’m sure he’ll have a wonderful retirement. Can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds. I hope it includes plenty of relaxation!
Another wonderful visit....I'm sure they will miss Carlo (one who has made sure their resting place was perfect). I pray I am as full of life as the gentleman telling of the history of LIGHTS and WATER coming to town...."money, what is money???" what a blessing to live is such a gorgeous place with so much love around you.
What a wonderful video. The end of an era for Carlo, a little bitter sweet, but onto new adventures. Loved listening the matriarchs of Positano, how fascinating. Your videos are just a delight, thank you so much for sharing all the joy that is Positano and all of your other adventures. For those of us who haven’t been able to travel for far too long now, your adventures keep us filled with excitement and wander lust for adventures still to come😊🍕
Good luck with the new beginning to both of you !!!!! Sad to see Carlo locking up the gates... but, it is also a new challenge ahead for you guys !! God bless ! Thank you for all the videos - cannot wait for the XMAS ones !!!!! xoxoxoxxo
I could sit and listen to Vincenzo for hours, so full of fun. He's got more life in him than people half his age. Looking forward to your Christmas vlogs, and to see what you both get up to now Carlos has finished work. Who needs street lights when you have Holly's tail to guide you, it's like a little windmill. I love your videos.
OMG! I'm only halfway through the video. I can't believe my eyes started leaking! The end of a long chapter of your lives, made me feel so sad (and excited too, at the same time for the start of a new chapter). 😭 😬
Thank you for sharing this new chapter. I got a little tears-eyed when Carlo was turning over the keys. I retired several years ago & remember the leaving. My husband retired just this fall. Cheers to new chapters!
The days we wake to one of your videos or insta stories are the most delightful beginnings to our day. Thank you soo much for sharing your lives with us here in New Zealand. All of you bring a smile to our dial when we tune in to life in Positano. Thank you thank you thank you. All the best for your new chapter & we're absolutely delighted to be sharing it with you.
Congratulations to Carlo on his leaving the cemetery...his job... Thank you for taking us on this journey..... It was in a sense a sacred job... respecting those that have gone before us...for which, we would not be here... I take pride in my Italian (southern) ancestry and research them... and thank them , Enjoy, Carlo and familia!!! Ginni
I loved listening to the elder's Vincenzo story about the good old days in Positano! Thank you! And I got so sad seeing Carlo close up on his last day at the Cemetery. It is a beautiful cemetery! But life will bring many more adventures now for you Carlo! May they all be blessings and treasures for you and your family. I miss family gatherings as most of my elders (aunts, uncles, grandparents are transitioned to another dimension of life.) And this will be the first Thanksgiving that I will spend with my son, my daughter-in-law, and grand baby since 2019! My daughter lives in Oregon and she won't be coming down to California, unless she surprises us!? As Italians, my family always had large gatherings, lots of food, and merriment! The trip to Naples was marvelous! Thank you again Nicki and Carlo! Congratulations on your retirement!
Loved hearing the stories from the elder. We should all respect the men and women who can tell us interesting stories and teach us so much. I love to do this too. Sometimes folks are in too much of a rush going nowhere and don’t understand the importance to ask and listen. ❤️🙏🏻
I didn't want this video to end. Laughed hard at the gravestone cake we the "We will miss you" sign (from the Cemetery) and everyone joking if there was a skeleton inside the tomb - plus Carlo trying to dig the chocolate earth - great fun. Loved hearing the stories of the almost 90 year old. Fascinating. Congratulations on your 'retirement' Carlo - though as a man who doesn't sit still for long, I'm sure you will have a lot of things to do. Enjoy your new adventure.
I loved this format Nicki, congratulations to you both on Carlo's retirement. I am (at last, going to see my relatives in Rome in July next year) I have missed them so much and your videos have given me so much pleasure over the last two (almost!) years I almost feel I am with them. Thanks you all the Rispoli family for opening your doors to me (all of us!).
🎉🎉CONGRATULATIONS Carlo!!🎉🎉 I hope you and Nicki both enjoy this new adventure and I can't wait to see what you guys do next. Much love from Kansas.❤️😊
Priceless stories from way back. Also congrats Carlos. My hubby retired a year ago and everything is new and different that first year…in a good way! Now has a very part time job that keeps him socially connected and mentally challenged. Enjoy ❤️🇨🇦
Street food in Napoli is next level I find! So cheap and really really good! I spend the whole day eating whenever I visit. But the first time I went I had a bit of a cultural shock cause it was so loud 😅 I'm originally from Modena, lived in Northern Europe a lot where it's way more quiet, and that was too much for me 😅 I loooved hearing Vincenzo's stories about Positano back in the day! His memory is incredible, he's so lucid. I'd love to see more interviews with him 👏😃 Congratulazioni Carlo! Inizia un nuovo capitolo, dev'essere molto emozionante, in bocca al lupo per tutto! 🎉🎉🎉🥳
Nicki, you have grown into the role of TH-camr extraordinaire! It is lovely to see that you are no longer plagued by filming. The relaxed joy in you is plain to see. I'm grateful for that, as I am firmly entrenched in your stories! Grazie!
That was wonderful! It must have been a moving moment for Carlo while he handed over, but one ending carries on to a new beginning, and thats one of the things that make life so interesting, there can be so many surprises in store! Congratulations to Carlo for bravely taking this step, which scares a lot of people. I’m sure there are good things awaiting this change in view. Thanks for the memories of what Positano used to be, and it would be lovely to hear more from other older citizens in that line. Have a wonderful week!🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱
I feel like watching your videos on and on and on... everything is so beautiful. You have learnt the language so well. That's the beauty when you know the language. You can mingle with the locals ❤️❤️
Nice send-off for Carlo. Now he can relax and have time to help around the garden. Love that cake. Loved hearing about Positano in the old days. Easy to forget it was so primitive.
Thank you both for giving us such an intimate view of all the places you visit. Even if I visited Italy, I don't think I would get to see so many places that most tourist don't get to see. Congrats on Carlo's retirement. May you both continue to have wonderful adventures together(and share with us) in good health and prosperity. 💐💜
It was very moving to watch Carlo close up the cemetery for the last time. Best wishes to you both in your next chapter! The future is bright! ☀️ And I loved Vincenzo!
Congrats on your retirement!! I also recently retired n love my freedom. Still not sure where I go from here but I look forward to future. Wish I lived in Italy. Keep making your videos that take me away!! So jealous of your life!! 🤗
Wow love this so much, and the tears were flowing when Carlo closed the gates for the last time, 😍 Praiano you two are seriously the best!!!!! Living my dream through you two, rain hail or shine❤️❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘😘😘 Millie Grazie
Congratulations Carlo on your retirement!! Such a handsome young man to be already retired!! I too really enjoyed Vincenzo's stories from the olden days! I certainly hope you get to do more interviews with those colourful characters from Positano, and other towns around.
Thankyou for sharing the special moment of Carlo leaving the Cemetery and the party to follow . You are rich in family and friends and that is wealth in itself .❤️🙏🏻❤️
Wonderful video! ❤️ congratulations to Carlo. Looking forward to seeing your new adventures. I live in the US and have always dreamed of visiting Italy, thank you so much for all you do to share these videos. You make me feel like I am there. Many blessings to you🕊
Congratulations Carlo on your retirement 💥👍our whole life just passes away working and working...without realizing that we have missed out on enjoying the simple and beautiful things in life.So now you can relax and take in the essence of life and just do whatever you want.👍🎊🥂
Loved this Nicki especially the elderly mans stories . Carlo you will miss your job for a while but you are doing the right thing im sure. What a great send off for Carlo that cake was a one off lol Im so glad to read this morning that Antonito is safe and well , Nicola s friend . I cried i must say with relief as his family must have been worried sick. Sending much love to you all.
Love Naples. It's so much bigger than Positano. And you find the best food places! Congratulations Carlo on your retirement from the cemetery. I have a feeling that retirement retirement is not actually in your dictionary. Good luck in whatever you guys decide to do next. I love the decorations and cakes that Elizabeth did for Carlo. Thank you for the work that you do to make these videos for us. And you're right, everyone needs a day off. Be well, stay safe, love from Texas.
Congratulations, Carlo! A new beginning is right and it will be fabulous 👌. I really enjoyed this video, Nicki. Seeing snippets of what you've been up to lately was really interesting. I could have listened to the gentleman recount stories of Positano in the last century all day. Grazie bene 💕
That older gentleman was precious, and so interesting! I loved hearing him talk about the past..My husband's family was from Cefalu, and they did not get running water for years after that date in Positano. In fact, his grandfather actually donated the money to build the first public bathroom in Cefalu in 1951. His name was Pasquale (Charles) Maggio, and there was a plaque on the public bathroom with his name on it! We are heading back again this spring to Sicily and Cefalu, then to Amalfi, Capri and Ravello again. I sincerely hope you have this wonderful man on your blog many more times the future to tell us about the history of the area. I find him fascinating ! Loved it! Merry Christmas to you and your very entertaining family....Sending love from Louisiana ❣!
i love hearing the language....i was in a home with my grandparents until i was 4...they came from Naples to USA and i understand alot of the conversations in your videos. I never forgot some of the language. Your vlogs are wonderful. I am 67 now.
Nicki, this was so lovely! I just love listening to the stories of the senior set, and he made me cry as his hand gestures reminded so much of my dad. Wishing you and Carlo all the best on this 'nueva etapa' of your lives, and really looking forward to your Vlogmas.
Absolutely fabulous video! Mille Grazie!! Sad to see Carlo experience his last day at the cemetery. All those souls will miss him. I especially loved the segment with Vincenzo. He made me remember my father in law who regaled us with stories of his boyhood in Partinico Sicilia. The seniors have so much to share with us and make us appreciate all the luxuries we have now. ( like indoor plumbing). i
I was tearing up while watching the bustling streets of beautiful Naples. My mother's family, married name Perrotti, came to the U.S.from Naples in 1913 and settled in Wilmington, Delaware. The eight children worked hard and lived successfully, bringing the Italian traditions to their neighborhood called Little Italy. I enjoyed so much the conversation with Vincenzo. Interesting how young the two ninety year old men look and interact. Congratulations to Carlo on his future endeavors.😊 I look forward to the Christmas videos.❤️

Thank you.
oohhh...I loved the stories by the old men....priceless.
Congratulations Carlos and Nicki so happy you chose this step in your lives while you are still young, healthy, happy, and able to enjoy your heart's desire in this new adventure! cheers and much love!
Lovely Video!!!!
My ❤️is full watching!!!
Congratulations Carlo!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Cheers to new Beginnings🍾🥂
Visiting Naples thru ur lens! Wow!!
Listening to 90 year old friends talk about their Life Journey; Priceless💰
Bon Aventura!!🛵❤️🥰😘
Love your videos so much. Carlo is a free man! I’m sure he’ll have a wonderful retirement. Can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds. I hope it includes plenty of relaxation!
Another wonderful visit....I'm sure they will miss Carlo (one who has made sure their resting place was perfect). I pray I am as full of life as the gentleman telling of the history of LIGHTS and WATER coming to town...."money, what is money???" what a blessing to live is such a gorgeous place with so much love around you.
Congratulations to you and Carlos on his retirement. May the next chapter be filled with a multitude of blessings you both so deserve. 🥂🍾💐🎉
I never grow tired of watching this lovely lady's videos. Nicki you ROCK!! 👍💖💖💖🎉🎉🎉🎉
I wait for this all day
Congratulations to Carlo on his leaving the cemetery...his job... Thank you for taking us on this journey..... It was in a sense a sacred job... respecting those that have gone before us...for which, we would not be here... I take pride in my Italian (southern) ancestry and research them... and thank them , Enjoy, Carlo and familia!!! Ginni
Congratulations Carlo! Thank you for your amazing videos...wishing you both continued health and happiness💕
Thoroughly enjoyed the stories of older Positano. So much fun to hear stories by those still around.
But the first time I went I had a bit of a cultural shock cause it was so loud 😅 I'm originally from Modena, lived in Northern Europe a lot where it's way more quiet, and that was too much for me 😅
I loooved hearing Vincenzo's stories about Positano back in the day! His memory is incredible, he's so lucid. I'd love to see more interviews with him 👏😃
Congratulazioni Carlo!
Yaaay I’m so happy to hear there will be vlogmas on your channel 🎄🎄 can’t wait ❤️❤️❤️
Napoli!
Praiano!
Belli ricordi di Positano prima!
👍👍👍
Mi piace tutto.
Grazie mille!
It was very moving to watch Carlo close up the cemetery for the last time. Best wishes to you both in your next chapter! The future is bright! ☀️ And I loved Vincenzo!
Congratulations Carlo- such a treat to be able to look back on your retirement day. Loved Vincenzo’s reminisces of Positano when he was a young boy 🌟💗
Good luck with your future endeavours. I’m looking forward to hearing more from Vincenzo- sounds like he has some fascinating stories to tell!
Congrats on your retirement!! I also recently retired n love my freedom. Still not sure where I go from here but I look forward to future. Wish I lived in Italy. Keep making your videos that take me away!! So jealous of your life!! 🤗
I LOVE this episode, this is a real gem. I could listen to this man the entire day 😍😍😍
Wow love this so much, and the tears were flowing when Carlo closed the gates for the last time, 😍 Praiano you two are seriously the best!!!!! Living my dream through you two, rain hail or shine❤️❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘😘😘 Millie Grazie
Congratulations!! Can’t wait to see what the future hold for your family. Love from Amsterdam. 💕💕
Congratulations Carlo on your retirement!!
Such a handsome young man to be already retired!!
I too really enjoyed Vincenzo's stories from the olden days!
I certainly hope you get to do more interviews with those colourful characters from Positano, and other towns around.
Aww congratulations Carlo for all your hard work. Here's to new beginnings and a wonderful life ahead. Looking forward to all your new adventures.
I loved hearing how life was before the tourist came. Can we hear more stories from the seniors in Positano?🌺
Congratulations Carlo and best wishes for the new chapter in your life! Thank you both for the excellent and skillful footage! 🌞🙏👌
How wonderful to see Vincenzo! I know him from the 1970ies and 1980ies, happy that he is still in good health, thank you again for a wonderful video 👍
Lovely as always. ❤️ Congratulations Carlo! So excited for you both.
Loved this video, such a variety. Good luck with your new adventures Carlo❣️
i love hearing the language....i was in a home with my grandparents until i was 4...they came from Naples to USA and i understand alot of the conversations in your videos. I never forgot some of the language. Your vlogs are wonderful. I am 67 now.
Congratulations Nicki and Carlo, now for the new chapter. Wonderful enjoy! :)
Oh yes .please more senior interviews..living true history🙏
Nicki, this was so lovely! I just love listening to the stories of the senior set, and he made me cry as his hand gestures reminded so much of my dad. Wishing you and Carlo all the best on this 'nueva etapa' of your lives, and really looking forward to your Vlogmas.
More from Vincenzo please! And I think you should show family pics from back in the day with some of these older families. I would luv to see it.
Congratulations Carlo and Nicki🎉…Beautiful testament to Carlo’s commitment to his job and just overall love for Positano and it’s history ❤️

The sea and all those stairs certainly seem to be good for the health. Vicenzo and his friends look great.
Auguri Carlo!!! 🎉
