First Skins game that I sat with my dad and watched. Those 90’s teams with Gus, Allen and Green is what made me fall in love with the team. So happy to see this gem.

They only put on decals at the beginning of the season! And I put on decals that were damaged throughout the season! Teams that had alternate uniforms and decals were done up the beginning of the season! Saving back in the uniform equipment manager didn’t really have a big job really other than cleaning the uniforms and pads! Pretty much the same as today as it was then

Redskins throwbacks 😍. Can't believe we'll never be able to see these in a game again. Screw this Commanders b.s. Dan Snyder handpicked. New owner better give us a proper rebrand... Redskins, Braves, Warriors, Redwolves, Hogs, anything but the C-words.
Forget the throwbacks I get it. I enjoy seeing that too, but the uniforms that we were wearing that we had to get rid of because of the rebrand were absolutely kick ass. I would have to say besides the Raiders Chargers, the older patriots and Seattle’s original uniform when they came in the league top fucking notch, I really hope we have a rebrand again and there’s a competition because I have the most kick ass idea for our team. Can’t use REDSKINS anymore which is a goddamn shame. All we were doing was glorifying the native Americans for what they did for us .

I’m still curious to why the Redskin played the colts during the 94 season? The colts did not play any other NFC east team that season also the colts played the redskins the in 93 at RFK . Why did they play back to back years? Odd
Great observation! It had to do with the NFL having an uneven number of teams in the divisions back in that era. The last place team from the East (and Central, both with 5 teams / division then) played an odd slate that included the full 4-team NFC West (4 games), a home/away series vs the last place team from the NFC Central (2 games), the usual NFC East division home/away slate (8 games) and - to get the game up to 16 - two last-place AFC teams (instead of 4 AFC teams, and outside the three year AFC-NFC cycle the other teams adhered to). So, the last place finisher in the NFC East would play an odd schedule that included off-cycle last place AFC opponents - this usually happened to the Cardinals, but after the '93 debacle it was Washington's turn. Hence the strange extra Colts game in '94. The Panthers and Jags entered the league in '95, so '94 was the final year of this odd scheduling arrangement for cellar-dwellers.

They also played the jets in 1987 so back to back years they played the jets. But during the 1990 season the giants played every afc east team but the jets. Weird

I noticed the unusual scheduling too. This same year the Redskins played the Buccaneers twice. Which I don't ever recall happening anytime recently.
