- Kansas City CollectACon 2024 was an absolute blast this past weekend for collectors of all ages! I was on the hunt for Expedition and Aquapolis e-Reader Pokémon Card vintage holos and I was able to negotiate some great deals with vendors! From trades & buying the grails acquired throughout this video are not ones to miss! Check out some of the best deals of the year and stick around for an insanely rare WOTC promo card that is near impossible to find in person! At the very end I met up with a super nice couple who showed me a massive old vintage collection that was found in a garage!

Honestly I'm completely happy with that deal. I can't tell you the last time I saw a W stamp Charmeleon in person. I don't buy online so gotta make a deal when I find something super rare. Also I was in the crystal and slab really cheap so I was comfortable making that deal to get something I needed! Would have been better straight up for sure but is what it ha

@@Oz__MTG Exactly dude! Such a cool and unique piece of history too. Once I start focusing on Skyridge I will track down another Crobat but for the time being I would rather have the fire lizard!
a fellow HP-DMG collector, I LOVE IT! Its the best way to get the super high end stuff like gold stars, crystals, etc. And they usually still look great. My take is if I can still admire the art/aesthetic of the card, Ill take it!

These are always so entertaining for me - I want to do them myself but I always screw up the footage somehow and don’t get enough to make a decent video 🤣🤣🤣
Just film, film, film! I still constantly screw up footage. Since it's on my chest I don't realize sometimes what it is looking at. Just takes practice and time! You can do it!
That Charmeleon W stamp trade was one of the worst trades/purchases I've seen you do so far, but what matters at the end of the day is that you're happy with it. Very cool card none the less and congrats on the master set!
Thanks man! I didn't make the info public but I bought the Crobat from another vendor earlier that day for $75 and had $15 grading fees on the destroyed Blastoise. I think I got that one out of a collection. Basically in my mind I was getting the Charmeleon for under $100 which I was totally cool with cause it is legit mint. Plus I never see that card in person. Been getting hate comments saying I low ball too much but vendors agree so it's mutual transactions. Kinda proves a point no one knows the money involved behind the scenes what looks like a bad deal is actually a big comeup. At least card wise. Could have sold the Crobat and just bought a 9 to crack but end of the day it was a quick easy trade and I'm happy. I know you've been around for all the deals so it definitely ranks worst by footage 😂
Those e reader cards the more I see them the more they look awesome!!! It’s insane what you can find at collect a con event! Definitely going to take your wheeling and dealing approach on the future collect a con I go to 😂

honestly i feel i was taken advantage of while at KC Con. it was my 1st Con and i felt rushed and made poor decisions. maybe i need to attend more card event cause i feel i shouldve still had some leftover cards from trades. but i got want i wanted but at wat cost
Sorry to hear that! Did some vendors take advantage of you on trades? Cons are always a learning experience for sure, there are some great vendors out there that are very fair and then some shitty ones. Definitely learn from it and comp all your cards so you can access better trades on the fly. At least you got the cards you wanted though!

I had a vendor lie to me about a price of a card and screwed me over. Called him out in front of another customer and costed him a few thousands in that deal. W

Hope you enjoyed your first Con! They are definitely a lot of fun! I would suggest investing in an external mic setup if you don't have one like "Rode" or something similar. It captures much better audio and I can fix a lot of it in post. Makes all the difference in loud places!
@GrimHorizonTV I have a solid mic for Home recording but since this was my first pov recording I just bought a $20 wireless clip on mic. it did the job but wasn't amazing lol
@@MrAndersonAFK Every show is a learning experience. Fortunately the quieter ones you get better footage but it is always harder with music blaring in background and people everywhere talking ha

I use "Dex" I switched over from Pokellector ages ago and never looked back. So much more friendly interface and customization! Highly recommend!

Dex! It is my favorite app by a long shot and I've used most of them! I have the pro version as well which is like $20 a year but I feel it is worth it.

That looks WAY more spread out than Orlando was, I know you went to both...how did the layout feel compared to orlando?
It definitely felt like a bigger room and more spread out but unfortunately also felt like a lot less people. My local buddy vended and the show was pretty bad for the sales side. I'm sure some vendors killed it but most I talked to said about the same. I found a lot of good deals so I can't complain!

I know right dude! Every card in that cart was mint outside some warp that could be fixed. After I met them I introduced them to my buddy who was vending and drove to KC and he ended up buying the entire collection! Now it's all back in Charlotte to be gone through!

Thank you! The card is definitely incredibly rare and I am not sure if I have ever seen one in person for sale since I started this journey of mastering WOTC. I have not purchased a single card online for this collection so I had to jump on the opportunity! I am still thrilled I picked it up! The two cards I traded I also had under $100 into. I know the Crystal had more value but I owned it for $75 and would gladly have paid for the Charmeleon with that money so easy trade in my mind!
