My feeling is that the life RD Laing lived was just the beginning. He certainly lives on for me. “Who knows if life is not death, and death life?”

Thanks for giving me the opportunity of viewing this extremely thought provoking video. Of course deceit is often dressed in the cloth of truth and great works of fiction may still contain great truths without being true.

Being 70, life experiences, understandings, observation and learning.
The question that has no answer. Who decides what is 'otherness' but ourselves, the otherness, ergo perpetual motion, unbeginning unending beginnings and endings.
The sentient cannot win in nature, the sentient is nature, the paradoxical irony of sentient hubris, a natural response with nature always winning.
    Deja vous anyone?
    Love always

To the contrary, Laing knew his Christianity inside out. Christian Mystics like Kierkegaard a speciality...other examples crop up in this Film.

@@maxinemckenzie5765 knowing intellectually about Christianity and the works of Christian philosophers is not the same as being close to God.

    • @maxinemckenzie5765

@@maxbooth179 absolutely, I agree. Laing's understanding of God was pretty visceral on the one hand, and also beyond intellectuallising on the other, in regard to his actual meditation practice. Intellectually he was no slouch either.

@@maxinemckenzie5765 I like his vibe, but he is more "seeker" than "one who knows". More like a brother than a father. He is a good man but (and) there are better.
