Cheers buddy, glad you're enjoying them, if you drop me an email to roughtownraptors@gmail.com preferably adding a couple of pics if you can then I'd be happy to sort you a price out, cheers 👍
loving the videos but i guess doing the same vans in almost the same colour gets a bit boring but you seem to love the painting though just curious is their a vehicle that you haven't done that you would like to and what colour would you paint it keep up with the great work your doing stay safe yourself
Cheers buddy, glad you're enjoying them 😊 It can get a bit repetitive sometimes but I usually just bang a pod cast on and switch off lol. That said I've had more repetitive jobs in the past, worked in a textile mill for 6 years walking up and down a winding frame, that was repetitive, and back in the days before podcasts lol. I'd love to do a brand new defender, black with grey detailing, think it would look awesome, full safari pack one 😁 Thanks, I try to 🙏
I do the full job inside usually bud unless it's the height of summer like this one was. Only did inside the doors outside as it was a flag cracking day lol. Raptor and moisture doesn't mix well, you need a dry environment for painting in, same with any car paint 👍
@ufuk_yesildag maybe the seller doesn't put as much paint on, a lot of folk seem to think it's a one coat job, not so. I do two heavy coats and then as many dust coats as I think it needs to even it up, usually around 3. For a L4H3 though I would definitely use around 24-26.
Hi mate, if you drop me an email to roughtownraptors@gmail.com letting me know what you want then I'd be happy to sort out a price for you. Don't fit pods unfortunately bud, just paint the vans lol.
Very nice, I would definitely consider it. Charcoal grey maybe, the green is cool but slightly too Military looking for me. How does this paint stand up to the elements if a Van was on a driveway for winters rather than in a garage? Thanks
Cheers buddy, tbh I always think the standard black is more of a charcoal grey colour. Stands up well to the elements, it was designed as bed liner for pick ups etc, hence why they market it as the king of tough, has high UV resistance too. There are some vids on yt of guys in America and Oz doing 5 or 10 year reviews on it. Still pretty new over here but they've been using it for years👍
Great vid mate , couple questions , how many litres did it take to cover the van and also is that just one coat , if its more than 1 coat whats the process in prepping for another coat 👍🏻
Cheers buddy, glad you like it. A full van takes around 26 bottles with the black, a couple of heavy coats to lay the colour and then as many dust coats as it takes to even it out, usually 3 or 4, dust coats are light and fast 👍
Hi Henry, yeah this was originally designed as bedliner then people across the pond started doing custom jobs in it and it's catching on over here. It's a tougher hard wearing coating, more of a polymer then a paint. Also looks cool as f*** when it's done right 👌😎
Yes I used raptor on the plastics, you can use adhesion promoter but if you scotch them well enough with 180 grit then you'll be fine. Don't go any coarser or the plastic will start fluffing 👍
I don't have a link to it bud but if you go on eBay or Amazon and look for vari Shultz gun you should be able to find one cheap enough. At some point I will try and set up a link to products I use or prefer, thanks 👍
Thanks, depends on size etc, if you drop me an email to roughtownraptors@gmail.com letting me know size etc and possibly adding a couple of pics then I can sort you a price out, cheers 👍
Start on the edge away from the quarter light, it comes off easier there, the part down the quarter light pillar is the tightest so you have to give them a good tug there 👍
Hi, yeah you can tint raptor to any colour, you can buy a tiny off eBay, Marlow paints are usually spot on or you can use 2k paint but the tint will be weaker👍
@@roughtownraptors Wounder if can be mixed with a polyester pigments? As we have any colour pigment you can imagine at work, but they all polyester pigments, we use for spraying door moulds
Honestly couldn't tell you on that mate as I've always used 2k tints. Upol are very helpful, if you give their customer service desk a call they'll give you all the info on it and whether your tints will work with it. Failing that trial and error, mix a small test cup and see if it colours or reacts👌
Depends on what you have, if you drop me an email to roughtownraptors@gmail.com letting me know what you have then I'd be happy to sort you a price out, cheers.
Absolutely love your videos and humour, one day soon I'll being buying a van for you to raptor for me 😊
Cheers bud, glad you're enjoying them 😁 yeah whenever you get your van you know where I am 👍 thanks 🙏
Never get tired of watching your vids. Love that olive green 👌
Cheers buddy ☺️ olive green is definitely one of the favourites 💚👌
@@roughtownraptors its a 6003 from RAL?
Looks epic now mucker, I'm after a sprinter for myself. Great channel.
Cheers buddy, sprinters are definitely one of the more popular vans due to their engines I think. Cheers 👍
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing 👏👏👏🫡

Great vid quick question what happens if moisture in rainy weather gets into any of the raptor or do you do full job inside cheers👍
I do the full job inside usually bud unless it's the height of summer like this one was. Only did inside the doors outside as it was a flag cracking day lol.
Raptor and moisture doesn't mix well, you need a dry environment for painting in, same with any car paint 👍
So I am here for the ratio's, my question is, will I need 3 x 5L tins for a van this size?
Hi, yeah for a van this size with inside the doors doing you would need 3 x 5l and about 3 bottles of black for the plastics, thanks.
What an awesome video! Love your work! What a nice details. How many layers of raptor does it take for such a quality finish?
Cheers buddy, glad you're loving the videos and my work 😊
Usually 2 heavy coats to lay the colour and then 4 or 5 dust coats to even it out 👌
1:54 paint peels off coz when it goes ,back to the future ,😂 👋🤠👍
güzel boyama kaç litre kullandınız?
teşekkür ederim, bu boyuttaki bir minibüs için yaklaşık 24 litreye ihtiyacınız olacaktır.
Hello, please tell me how many liters of raptor paint did you need just for the exterior? I thank you
Hi, for just the outside I'd say around 12 litres of colour and 3 black, thanks 👍
Hello, nice job. How many liters goes for L4H3?
Hi, thanks, for a L4H3 I would say around 26 litres, 22 in colour and 4 in black assuming you're going that route, cheers 👍
@@roughtownraptors The seller said it would go less, I wonder if a different work is being painted?
@ufuk_yesildag maybe the seller doesn't put as much paint on, a lot of folk seem to think it's a one coat job, not so. I do two heavy coats and then as many dust coats as I think it needs to even it up, usually around 3. For a L4H3 though I would definitely use around 24-26.

Jesus so roughly 26 litres😮
Yeah that's about right for a lwb, bit less if it has Windows all over etc👍
excellent Works what is the RAL of the RAPTOR
Cheers buddy, it's 6003 olive green 👍
Is this the truck bed liner stuff? what's the idea of painting the entire vehicle with it?
Hi Henry, yeah this was originally designed as bedliner then people across the pond started doing custom jobs in it and it's catching on over here. It's a tougher hard wearing coating, more of a polymer then a paint. Also looks cool as f*** when it's done right 👌😎
Is it difficult to remove the door glass seal?
It's a bit tight where it meets the quarter light so I generally pull it away from the door edge first 👍
do you use raptor on plastics ie do you need anything to prme?
Yes I used raptor on the plastics, you can use adhesion promoter but if you scotch them well enough with 180 grit then you'll be fine.
Don't go any coarser or the plastic will start fluffing 👍
In hot summers I use to keep my filler in the fridge.
Not a bad idea that bud, shame I don't have a fridge at work 😂
Can you post a link to which variable gun you use?
I don't have a link to it bud but if you go on eBay or Amazon and look for vari Shultz gun you should be able to find one cheap enough. At some point I will try and set up a link to products I use or prefer, thanks 👍

It’s a bit eye of newt, wing of bat type of mix
Yeah it's definitely a marmite thing, unfortunately some folk put it on like that too 😂
How many litres of paint did you use on this van?
20
On a van this size around 21-26 bottles depending on colour and scheme etc 👌
How do you get the door window seals off?
Start on the edge away from the quarter light, it comes off easier there, the part down the quarter light pillar is the tightest so you have to give them a good tug there 👍
