So the first few minutes totally tossed a key character trait right out the window. In the movie, Robin's character blows up his job because he refuses to have a cartoon for kids glorify smoking. He wasn't being irresponsible, he was being responsible and standing up for his moral beliefs. Here, he's just being a goofball for no reason. The writers totally missed the point of that opening scene.

I saw this musical in london last week. They changed the intro to be more accurate to the movie opening
