The gay moments in Beauty and the Beast are literally the most innocent things on the planet, if you think your kid can't handle those then I worry about the future of your kid
Sometimes I wonder if 'they' think keeping kids away from LGBTQIA+ content will make sure 'they stay straight'. I believe lots people think that being LGBTQIA+ is something you choose. That is why there is a lot out outrage about things like the new 'Beauty and the Beast' film and censoring LGBTQIA+ content away from children. People seem to genuinely think it is something that you are influenced into being.
One of the things that annoys me the most is the fact that there's an actual app made by TH-cam for kids, and I've not used it, but I'd assume it has this filtering system. But the fact that they're doing this on the rest of TH-cam annoys me so much because it's clearly not to ""save the children"" from how horrific my sexuality is. If anything the only people they're hiding from are the teenagers who are suffering from all of this that you're pointing out and it makes me so mad (I'm sorry if this sounds jumbled up, I'm so mad I'm shaking)
The same thing happened when I was in high school in America. They were suppose to make a web filter for, I think, public libraries, and it ended up blocking a bunch of gay rights/support groups. So I think this is more of a case of a lazily made code than actual contempt.
My "favourite fictional bisexuals" video is hidden in restricted mode. They've said it's not necessarily LGBT stuff itself that's being filtered but "sensitive topics"... pray tell what exactly is so sensitive about me just listing some of my favourite characters that are bi??! The whole idea that queer people and relationships are inherently more "adult" and "mature" is such a massive and harmful double standard.
I heard this point that was about the fact that when people think of lqbt couples, all they think of is sex or explicit content. When non lgbtq people hear about a film starring lgbtq characters it's assumed the film is an 18's or 'adult'I don't think it's right that straight couples are seen as normal and natural and not only sexual, yet a female couple are presumed promiscuous and inappropriate. I don't think it's fair that a girl and boy toddler playing marriage are seen as cute and two male toddlers playing marriage are inappropriate and misbehaving.
It's not just LGBTQ that's being affected, it's also other channels like Sargon and Bearing, who do NOT spew hateful content despite what other may say
One of the most messed up things imo is that they took down Stef Sanjati's ffs consulation video as well as tons of trans men's top surgery reveals yet there's still videos of actual surgery taking place completely uncensored that are available (also your videos have helped me a lot with dealing with internalised queerphobia so !! thank you for existing)
I love this video, this issue has been annoying me for days. LGBTQ+ content really helps people who are struggling with their sexuality. I just hope that youtube genuinely fixes this issue and takes LGBTQ+ content off restricted mode
In the United States, it is estimated that the total number of children living with at least one gay parent ranges from 6 million to 14 million. And remember, that is an estimation, they might not have accounted for bisexual/pansexual parents. And that's also just the USA, and TH-cam is used by people all over the world. There has been a bunch of movies and television shows for children that have featured a gay character, some have even done so with main characters (I will say Disney, for a company well-known for providing great benefits to their LGBT employees, has kind of been slow on this, unfortunately). And this isn't including the countless children's books that have featured same-sex couples as parents. TH-cam, you're looking laughably archaic.
My younger sister is 6 and she knows this and doesn't care. I am bisexual and 13 but I hear others make fun of being gay or bisexual. I am scared of telling others.
It's just like when parents won't let there kids tell there younger siblings or other kids that they are LGBT but kids are far more accepting then some people
that's going for the easy target love you Claudia it's sad that they are still trying to exclude the lgbt in the 21st centuary we need more accepting people like you in the world
Your videos actually helped me accept that I might have a mental illness and I think they're one of the things that caused me to finally get some help, so thank you for just being there, you're awesome :)
It especially sucks because as a child TH-cam is what helped me keep sane. It's so important to see LGBT people online because you can't see it in your life
Weirdly, some of my gender identity videos are accessible in restricted mode, so they can't even be consistent. Not that that would make it better, but still...
You're so amazing Claudia, thank you so much for speaking up and being vocal about LGBTQIA+ issues, you have helped me so much! Love you loads & I hope youtube sorts this mess out quick
I think some people (and presumably the people that set the filters) see LGBT as purely who you want to sleep with, hence thinking it's not family friendly.
This is the result of people asking for more censorship on what they deem to be hateful content and it's rather backfired for the people advocating for the censorship, which doesn't suprise me at all
hateful content isnt the same as content that can help people? Like if my mum had put restricted on my computer I wouldn't have figured out who I am for years after I did.
I remember that as a child I had zero interest for sex pictures, movies, talks or whatever. I am pretty sure youtube restricts straight sex too. If you help people to come out to their true self good point to you but I prefer my children to discover sex on their own, with their partners and if they have questions I prefer the answers to come from a didactic person in stead of an activist one.
Moenlight Chatdeau It's not sex that they're restricting, it's things like makeup tutorials for trans women and generally any content just talking about lgbt stuff.
Moenlight Chatdeau You do realise we have a culture, a history, and a unique way of relating to the world, and there are people who want info on us that's not sexual?
this video is restricted???? are they censoring this conversation too?? i almost wanna laugh because its so absurdly wrong
It's not so bad. I can't even figure out how to enable restricted mode. :)
Go into your settings and you can turn on restricted mode
The gay moments in Beauty and the Beast are literally the most innocent things on the planet, if you think your kid can't handle those then I worry about the future of your kid
If your child can handle a woman falling in love with an animal they can handle 2 ppl of the same gender kissing

so this is pretty serious subject matter but I just have to say you are absolutely hilarious in this video. I love Claudia Completely Over It Edition.

It's weird to think someone existing is the same as porn or violence to some people.
Guess that IS the definition of bigotry.
It's not just LGBTQ that's being affected, it's also other channels like Sargon and Bearing, who do NOT spew hateful content despite what other may say
I know right it's fucked up

exactly!!! i'm trans(ftm) and my mother won't let me tell my sisters and brother because it'll be "too confusing"
that's going for the easy target love you Claudia it's sad that they are still trying to exclude the lgbt in the 21st centuary we need more accepting people like you in the world
Recent update today: TH-cam apologised and said it was a mistake
gay character but girl can love an animal cos he rich
Your videos actually helped me accept that I might have a mental illness and I think they're one of the things that caused me to finally get some help, so thank you for just being there, you're awesome :)

I'm early so I just want to say I love you Claudia 💕
Yes, this video is actually restricted.
Could you make a bookshelf tour video?

Note how I said "what they deem" and not what is objectively hateful content.
did you wear that necklace just for this video?
I remember that as a child I had zero interest for sex pictures, movies, talks or whatever.

Maybe so. Why do you put a lgtb label where there is no sex ?
Moenlight Chatdeau I'm not sure what you mean...? there are lgbt topics outside of how/if we have sex omg
I am sure most outside of sex topics that you label as lgtb don't need this label.
Moenlight Chatdeau You do realise we have a culture, a history, and a unique way of relating to the world, and there are people who want info on us that's not sexual?
LOVE your necklace!
Off topic, but I love Harley and Ivy.
I'm Bye too......bye bye, LOL
Love your necklace!
just turn it off it's really easy

Great video
why say lgbt ? why not just say gay ? not an insult just inquisitive that's all.
MUMT Kayla that's fair enough. I never thought about the T for trans.
Hannah Nielsen thanks, I wasn't meaning to be insulting I just don't know about such things. lgbtqiap that's quite an abbreviation lol
