  • This was a training walk for a much longer walk happening in a few weeks time... watch this space/footpath :)
    The North Downs Way is full of adventure. It twists and turns and there are surprises up and down every steep hill.
    I would recommend walking Rochester to Hollingbourne as the walk leaves the busy city and you are soon surrounded by dense countryside.
    Or come and join my group...

    I am thinking about jumping out of a plane to celebrate. If you have read this far let me know in the comments Skydive? Or no skydive! :)
    See you again soon

    Mighty marvelous, my dear! The symbol for North Downs Way is the acorn....For years I thought the outlined shape of US national parks symbol was an acorn, so I was asking to buy the "acorn-shaped" national park souvenir, my husband and the ranger laughed and said that's not an acorn...that's an arrowhead! One week from today I'll be walking the White Cliffs of Dover....I'll get my acorn...haha!

      Why thank you! All of the main National trails in UK have an acorn symbol. In Scotland it is a thistle and I'm not sure about Wales. That is great that you will be here. Have a fantastic time walking in Kent. It really is beautiful here.

    Wow what a walk, I can't wait for the longer days to do some long walks myself, I plan a trip across the pennines from Lancashire Rossendale to Mytholmroyd in Yorkshire, will be about a 20 mile round trip all with Charlie my four leg friend😁👍

      That sounds like an epic trip!!!

    Looked a good walk. No need to embarrass that horse though. He gave you a right disgruntled look. Shame pylons are dragged across the landscape. And people complain about wind turbines?! You had a good stomp there, a lot of ground covered. I done an 18mile stretch of the South West Coast Path last week for my birthday. But there was no hills, so it was a lot easier. Great vid thanks. ATB. Trev!

      Ha ha that Zebra needed a talking too. I actually really like wind turbines, at least you can see nature doing their thing! Happy Birthday Trev! Wow thats a great distance. I'm a little nervous about tomorrow's walk... 26 miles!

    Hi Hannah, that’s a serious walk, 17 miles! Wow. We are blessed with so much amazing history in the UK, after all those hundreds of years it’s incredible to think these buildings and stone monuments have survived. Well done on completing your epic walk before your battery’s died! :)

    • @TheWildNative

      Thanks it was an epic walk indeed. It is really amazing to walk in the UK, there is so much to see and do along the way. I love Cornwall!!

    When I see pylons I get the urge to climb them lol. I'm still only 9 in my head. Tragic about the loss of lives bit it's always the way - LAs are loath to spend money sensibly - they'll spend 20s of ks on lights fpr their chamber like ours did - until forced to by overwhelming public opinion or deaths! We walked the that section many years ago with the dog in tow 😊 We used to put an OS map on the floor and spin a bottle and whereever it pointed that's where we headed with the dog, then later with the dog and the kids and the prams and the bottles and the changes of clothes 😂😂😂 Happy days 😊 Thanks for sharing 👍

    • @TheWildNative
      @TheWildNative  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ha ha spin the bottle! Thats funny. Quite a good idea. Our group walks often take us to paths with intersections and it would be quite fun to explore by spinning a bottle, although they may look a little worried if I start suggesting to 'spin the bottle' if you know what I mean!

    17 Miles, that is a proper long ramble. I just love the North Downs and Rochester seems that kind of place I’d like to visit. Thank you for sharing.

    Nice walk. 17 miles! Wow! I hope you didn´t have to walk all the way back shortly after the video ;)
    Didn´t you get a little confused when the arrows were pointing both ways or all directions?

    • @TheWildNative
      @TheWildNative  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn’t have to walk back, I think I might have collapsed if that were the case. I didn’t get confused because I knew where I was coming from... well sort of!

    Hi Hannah - that was quite a walk! As for skydiving ... out of all the people that I know you are the one most likely to do that, but but but....even the thought of it gives me the heebie-jeebies!

      @TheWildNative  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ha thanks Simon, you are the only one to have read that far in the description. Ha well watch this space... maybe I could include it on one of the walks.

    Makes a change to see you struggling
    Nice to know Jade's crossing is part of North downs way
    Locals raised the money for the bridge and county council tried to take credit for it
    Thanks for another great Video H

    Seventeen miles is a great distance to cover in one day, Hannah. Following a National Trail as well! Are you looking to complete the North Downs Way?
    I frequently get a headache when stood or walking beneath power lines. :-/

    Another great video! Love the views! It's amazing how different a trail can be when it is not raining.
