Although ours is not off grid my Wife and I live in a cabin in the mountains of North Central Pennsylvania. However, I did build it to go off grid if necessary. We mostly heat with wood but we do also have electric heat. We originally built it as a hunting camp but we fell in love with the area and the people here. We waited until we were both retired but it's been wonderful. When we were here we didn't want to leave so one day we didn't. God bless and have a wonderful day.

Brown trout are perfect for catching then cooking on a camp fire. They are pretty oily, so it doesn’t take a lot of effort to make them perfectly. Great video, as always. Ellie seems happier when it’s just you and her.

You can take the meat from a trout off of one side with your fork and knife in a couple of seconds and leave all the bones behind. You can also take the tail or head and lift it with the whole skeleton when you cook the fish whole. There's much less waist of the meat for a small fish.

@@TinyCabinLife Crappie, Blue Gill, and Medium sized bass are absolutely delicious. Catfish taste great also but the belly flesh I personally discard because it seems to pick up the tastes of the catfish guts.

What an awesome place … couldn’t understand why the family didn’t come, until you gave a shot of the outhouse! And of course, it wasn’t terribly big. I wouldn’t have guessed Wisconsin! Congrats on the fish catch. Yeah, I think you need to watch a demo of how to fillet. If you have the proper knife it really helps! Not knocking your filleting techniques … but when it comes to tasty fish you want every little morsel possible. You could even cook it before deboning … just don’t forget to gut it first … and it’ll fillet all that easier! It looked yummy! Well you could see Ellie thoroughly enjoyed herself … a little kick of her youth shone through! Not too much exercise but enough she could keep herself busy and tuckered out for the night! I’ll have to check out the solar pack … I’m glad you clarified it at the end other uses … so it’s like a back-up generator for those short outages. I would imagine two of those units would suffice as a generator … but the generator would obviously outlast pack, if the outage was longer! As for the Twilight zone … you may not even have been a twinkle in your parents’ eyes, when I was watching it. Depending upon their age even, they may not have even been born by then … unless they’re my age! Awesome series! Anyhow, I’m looking forward to the LIVE! What a fun day that’ll be! Learning to filet takes time. There are lots of YT videos on the subject, but mostly it takes practice. Another great video! 12 hour live stream?!!!! WoW!!!
I trout fished for many years in NE Wisconsin. Was skunked only once! The WI DNR used to publish a book each year that showed all the trout streams in the state, their class, and populations. It’s probably done online now. There are a number of rivers going into Lake Michigan that have very large trout.

This is my childhood going up to Wisconsin. This makes me...teary eyed. I miss it so. Camping and fishing in Wisconsin. Fishing off the bridge in Winneconne. Osh Kosh. All of that as well. Spirit Lake. Oh, and good seafood at the supper clubs. Oh boy! Caught my VERY first striper up that way and I was so proud. I caught mine before the boys in the family. My Pops gassed my head up and I felt like Wonder Woman.

I love everything about Ellie she is so cute rolling in the grass and I love her expression on her face when she's in the water she listens so well. Next time bring her bed she was not happy sleeping on the rug.I'm glad she got a taste of your fish next time fish tacos🌮🌮.🎣 good catch. The bed in the cabin looked comfortable everything about the cabin was nice even the porch. A great location with the Stream. A perfect place to get away and enjoy some peace and quiet .You are lucky to have the cold weather. Las Vegas is still experiencing record highs in the hundreds and haven't had rain since July next week will be in the 90s . I am looking forward to watching your 12-hour video.

I trout fished for many years in NE Wisconsin. Was skunked only once! The WI DNR used to publish a book each year that showed all the trout streams in the state, their class, and populations. It’s probably done online now. There are a number of rivers going into Lake Michigan that have very large trout.

This is my childhood going up to Wisconsin. This makes me...teary eyed. I miss it so. Camping and fishing in Wisconsin. Fishing off the bridge in Winneconne. Osh Kosh. All of that as well. Spirit Lake. Oh, and good seafood at the supper clubs. Oh boy! Caught my VERY first striper up that way and I was so proud. I caught mine before the boys in the family. My Pops gassed my head up and I felt like Wonder Woman.
