    great video and in over 20 years of restoring old rigs I have never seen anyone reverse one to original, lol

      True, but it's important to say it's reversible to appease the purists! lol

    Looks like Grego and Andrew at Van Zelst did a lovely job on the body guys...fantastic project , hats off to you for attempting such a difficult task.

    Ahhh my dream car. Grew up in one the same color. Full camper. Puke yellow curtains. Two burner cooker top, hand pump faucet, cooler, closet and enough sleeping for about 5 ( really uncomfortably at Le Mans 1983 )

    Great colour choice, classic yet modern! Matches up perfectly.

    Really nice project ! I am looking forward to see the way you going to achieve such a long range. I am personally just curious I don’t have any electrical engineering knowledge. I looked the Ev West, Fun for Louis and Jehu Garcia conversions ( with Hyper Nine NetGain motors ) I really want to see with Tesla engine.

    Great video! Also, what's the font for "VW TESLA KOMBI" at 0:07? Thank you!

      Thanks. Ahhh I think it is just nabbed from the internet somewhere, just search for VW vintage fonts...

    Do you have a step by step process on how to strip wrecked Teslas, then modify any vehicle type to use their motor?

    • @chargedgarage131
      @chargedgarage131  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I don't, that's a bit of a big question there. You'll need to do your own research.

      @@chargedgarage131 I've been on the forums, to get an estimated 200-mile range on a bus with 2 warp 11s will start at $44,000.
      I can buy a bus at auction and 6 demolished Teslas for less.
      Tearing them down doesn't appear impossible, I've always been good at disassembly, but having it modify to a bus is escaping me.
      The forum guys would just use the Warp 11 method. Tesla has a Semi on the road with 4 model 3 motors towing 80,000lbs.
      I'm looking at a short bus probably closer to 16,000 lbs.

    Are the motor mounts available for sale?

      Designed and fabricated by @Traction EV so you would have to ask them!

    I have my original from new 1977 Kombi and I have been watching with enthusiasm the various electric conversions carried out to find my eventual dream of converting mine for everyday use. Can you let me know if a modification and restoration is something you would consider for me a customer. My Kombi is in very good no damage or rust and always kept garaged. Regards Peter

      Wow Peter, a one-owner kombi, well done! I can't do the conversion for you but could help you out. Send an email to info@chargedgarage.com

    Nice build. Great quality.
    Wasn't the whole Tesla cradle possible to mount?

    • @chargedgarage131
      @chargedgarage131  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, there's no need, I'm using the VW suspension and hubs etc, so for engineering approval its just an engine swap. It's far too wide anyway.
