Relaxing the mind and body with singing bowls
So often I hear many say “I find it difficult to meditate, I can’t stop the thinking”. In my Positive Music sound baths, I introduce people to singing bowls by talking about how they work and how beneficial they are for silencing the mind and relaxing the body. When we quiet the mind, we begin to see things in a different light, so to speak. We begin to silence the inner critic; you know those thoughts…? “I’m not good enough”.
    Thoughts are powerful
Thoughts are powerful. What we think has an impact on our feelings and behavour. So how can we change, in many cases a life time of feeling I’m not good enough? Well… we can in time, with meditation begin to reprogram our mind to be more loving and gentler towards ourself. Through meditation we can begin this journey of self-love and acceptance. By using singing bowls with meditation, we bring an ancient healing tool to our rescue. A powerful healing tool to help ease over thinking and destructive behavours, a beautiful combination of sound healing and meditation.
A few meditation and singing bowl tips
Find a quite space, it could be indoors our outdoors, maybe your garden? Choose an affirmation for your meditation and begin to play your singing bowl with this intention in mind. It can be as short as 1 minute when you’re starting out, just remember if you’re mind wonders come back to the sound of the singing bowl and your affirmation. Increase the time of your meditation from 1 minute to 2 or 3 minutes. Explore and experiment with and without the bowl and different times of the day. Oh yes… be gentle with yourself, it’s ok if your mind wonders, just think your mind id like a child and you are the parent.

Thank you - you provided a very practical and easy way to incorporate singing bowls into my mediation practice. I also like your suggestion that this can be a wonderful tool to assist those who have trouble to slow the mind down enough to meditate. Excellent video - presented with compassion.

Hi I am not able to meditate, I want to heal and balance my chakras, but I am not able to calm my mind down during meditation, I am not able to visualise the colors within my body or feel any connection at various spots of the chakras or with my body, my aura and the nature outside. I am not able to get that peace of mind and body.
    Please help me🙏🙏🙏

It’s quite normal for the mind to think, try not to worry. To begin with, instead of fighting the thoughts, treat the mind like a child and just observe the thoughts… allow the thoughts to come and go without any judgement. Take in deep breaths… and just observe.
      All the very best

Sometimes it takes time to achieve the constant sound of the harmonics by rubbing the bowl. Keep playing your bowl and explore.

It depends a lot on what metal your bowl is made from. Some will not "sing" because they are too thick and/or made of metals like copper or brass - bronze is the best metal for singing.
