Thanks for this reaction. Marcin writes all his own arrangements and is also an accomplished composer and producer. He started playing when he was 10, first studying classical and then flamenco guitar, and then developed the style he plays now on his own. I believe he was 20 in this video and is 23 now. You are correct that there is some background production on this, as well as on a lot of his other songs, all produced by him. What he means by “on one guitar” is there are not multiple guitar tracks layered on top of each other. The guitar part sounds just as full as when he’s playing live in concert or playing in his apartment during one of his Patreon livestreams. It’s mind blowing to witness. He has an incredible interview on Rob Scallon’s channel where he plays live and teaches Rob some of his techniques. Well worth the watch.

This is a video and as you say you can do anything in it. Not to brag, I've been a guitarist for 45 years and I know it seems impossible to do, but he does it. He recently had a concert tour in Poland. I saw and heard Marcin live and he actually plays.

His name is pronounced MARCEEN. He has a website .Has trained with many classical musicians but is also headed to one of the top music schools here in the states this fall. . He has a record contract. Has played with major orchestras and every other musician on the planet wants to duo with him. His videos are also on You Tube. He even played the half time of a major league football game . Just him! He's a phenom. No one else can do what he does AND he's a consummate performer. Also plays piano. I first saw him om America's Got Talent.
The "base" you're referring to (that you don't think is just coming from him), is his combination of using steel strings (size 13), having his strings set very low on the fret board, using his palm to pound the wood of the guitar for the base/kick drum effect in between strumming/tapping, and having a mic & pick up taped inside his guitar to pick up all that beautiful sound- all that is the deep base you're hearing - it's all him. If you don't believe that, watch some of his live sessions, he has a few for Kashmere - here is a live short clip: th-cam.com/video/2sB2-PXBo_E/w-d-xo.html He's one of the greatest of our time, not just for how he plays, but he composes these custom covers, and oversees the video choreography as well. I agree! I've never seen HIM before, but I HAVE seen most of those innovations (and more), as I was growing up and learning to play, myself, in later years. Growing up in a tiny town, where there are basically 10 musicians and a few of us who could and would sing just about anything, for just about any event, for free, because that's just what small communities DO, made a significant difference in my life, over-all. Music MUST exist and be played and heard...you know? 😀
He uses an octaver. There's production here, Marcin being the producer himself. The 'on one guitar' part refers to the fact that the he plays the guitar part with the percussion as one. None of those percussions and neck bends and detunings are recorded separately but as one. But definitely production here. He's an amazing producer as well as an arranger and composer!

There is, beside his tapping guitar, a short drum section in my opinion, but only sometimes, for example when he is walking 4:07. It makes this video even more cool. Great performance!

Mar-seen is the pronunciation. There was some synth and other percussion in this video, but I have seen a video of him playing live in concert this same song. He does all the arrangements.
I saw an interview last night here on TH-cam with Marcin in Poland. He and the host were speaking in Polish (thankfully there were English subtitles!), and he mentioned his name is pronounced Mar-Cheen in Polish, but the promoters for his albums/concerts thought Mar-Seen might roll off the English speaking tongues more easily. Frankly, I think we could adapt, but that’s what was said in that interview!
Corey, you REALLY need to react to some of Victor the Guitar Nerd's ORIGINAL songs. He covers things, too, of course (with Dan, especially), but he's REALLY great at making his guitars (many of which are put together from more than one "ruined" guitar, and often combined with two or more different TYPES of guitar (and different brands, as well) "sing" differently than what you'd hear from the run-of-the-mill guitar and guitarist. One of his best originals, in my opinion, is the song he named "Harmonics" (you reminded me of it when you were commenting on what this guy did with his single guitar). I sure hope you'll look into Victor's personal channel, and follow THAT rabbit hole, which is almost as interesting as Dan's (maybe even more so, because he supplies to much background music for Dan). - - - - - - - - - - He's in a parking building! As he started moving, I realized ONE reason the sounds from that amazing guitar and his amazing fingers sound as resounding and clear as they do! Have you ever spoken or sung in parts of a huge parking building, especially up a few levels? It's LOADS of fun, because there are the natural echoes that bump around from level to level and return to you in sometimes rather strange ways! Singing out in the mountains (as I used to do up in the mountains surrounding Valdez, Alaska) can give you a LOT of that type of experience as well. I LOVE working with materials around you that produce some really AMAZING echoes and blends! - - - - - - - - - - It's not JUST that, however. You ALSO need to see THIS guy, and what HE does with his SINGLE (VERY SPECIAL) guitar. He goes by "Guitaro5000" at... www.youtube.com/@guitaro5000 He talks about what he's done to his guitar, in his video entitled... Turn Your Guitar into a DRUM SET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What he does WITH that guitar, is take it out onto the streets, and put out a sign that asks if people would like to sing with him, for free. He gets some AMAZING voices to sing with him, and I've never yet seen him turn down someone's request of a song they'd like to sing. Yea seems like he’s got a pretty complex pickup/mic system allowing him to make all those sounds. Such an innovator and insanely talented!

He and the host were speaking in Polish (thankfully there were English subtitles!), and he mentioned his name is pronounced Mar-Cheen in Polish, but the promoters for his albums/concerts thought Mar-Seen might roll off the English speaking tongues more easily. Frankly, I think we could adapt, but that’s what was said in that interview!

Corey, you REALLY need to react to some of Victor the Guitar Nerd's ORIGINAL songs. He covers things, too, of course (with Dan, especially), but he's REALLY great at making his guitars (many of which are put together from more than one "ruined" guitar, and often combined with two or more different TYPES of guitar (and different brands, as well) "sing" differently than what you'd hear from the run-of-the-mill guitar and guitarist.
One of his best originals, in my opinion, is the song he named "Harmonics" (you reminded me of it when you were commenting on what this guy did with his single guitar). I sure hope you'll look into Victor's personal channel, and follow THAT rabbit hole, which is almost as interesting as Dan's (maybe even more so, because he supplies to much background music for Dan).

He's in a parking building! As he started moving, I realized ONE reason the sounds from that amazing guitar and his amazing fingers sound as resounding and clear as they do! Have you ever spoken or sung in parts of a huge parking building, especially up a few levels? It's LOADS of fun, because there are the natural echoes that bump around from level to level and return to you in sometimes rather strange ways! Singing out in the mountains (as I used to do up in the mountains surrounding Valdez, Alaska) can give you a LOT of that type of experience as well. I LOVE working with materials around you that produce some really AMAZING echoes and blends!

What he does WITH that guitar, is take it out onto the streets, and put out a sign that asks if people would like to sing with him, for free. He gets some AMAZING voices to sing with him, and I've never yet seen him turn down someone's request of a song they'd like to sing. He's quite AMAZING!
