      I'm still proud of this Alabama team. I guessed a 2 or even 3 loss regular season this year and I'd have been fine with that. Especially if you knew about all the transfers and locker room problems from 2 years ago that they're just now getting fixed. Anyway, I'm older than probably most Bama fans on here, Matt in particular (Bear Bryant was still coach when I was a kid). We HAVE to get used to the fact that we're not going to win every game, every year. Hell, we were a laughing stock before Saban came in. At this point, just a trip to the playoffs is a blessing. If we win it all then I'd be on another level with joy but I no longer just expect it. Then again, I remember the "Mike" years.

    BAMA truly broke my heart last night Matt B. You're right in your assessment. Not beating Michigan puts a damper on the Georgia win, like maybe we should lost to Georgia so they could beat Michigan . Michigan's D-line ßcared the shit out of Bama O-line, and it showed up with the bad snaps. It also shows you why people are so passionate about this game. You ONLY get 1 CHANCE to get it right. BAMA allowed themselves to get beat. I still think the coaches didn't have them ready for the coverage they would have to employ to stop the crossing patterns and backs out of the backfield. And they allowed the best athlete on the field to get sacked 5 times. They are the Florida state of the final 4.

    About all those busted assignments on Bama's part: Bama has a very sophisticated defensive system that adjusted to the opposing offense. Michigan used a lot of movement, shifts, and misdirection so Bama was constantly having to re-adjust and usually wound up a bit discombobulated.

    Alabama's o line problems throughout the year cost them in the end. You can't beat the best defense in the country with a bad o-line. Alabama's new offensive coordinator from ND doesn't build up cohesion but breaks it up. As a Michigan fan what great o-lines make average quarterbacks and running backs look good. Michigan had five different people run the ball in that game, two of them being quarterbacks. We even used are third string running back multiple times and still ran for good yardage.

    Great game but I think the biggest reason for the Michigan win is that Michigan is the bigger and better-coached team for this game. Alabama was bullied from the start and Michigan even had it's worst special teams game they have ever played. They constantly gave Alabama a short field and left 4 points on the board that would've put the game early. Alabama had their best special team play all season but I honestly do not believe Alabama could've done anything to win this game. Michigan is just the better team in every single aspect. QB, RB, WR, TE, OLINE, DLINE, LB, DB everything is an edge to Michigan. Was a great game though but Michigan let this be way too close because it should've been a 14+ win

    Even as a Michigan fan, I feel your pain. I am also very much in the “sometimes tougher beaten, but don’t beat yourself” camp. I was going nuts over the special teams mistakes. I do think that it may not help to go down the “if we had done X, we would have won the game” path. The rest of the game changes when things go differently. Here is an example. I was upset about the missed PAT, and thought “we would have won in regulation if we made that.” But if Michigan was one point ahead, Alabama does not punt on their last possession. Maybe they convert 4th and 3 then go on to make the walk off field goal. Anyway, I’m new to the channel and enjoying your content. Thanks!

    Michigan couldn't kick extra points, field goals or receive punts (if they did, they fumbled/muffed them). Most of the game was played near or in Michigan's end. Michigan did everything they could to lose. However the better team at the end of the day did win.

      Yeah I felt like on the final drive for Bama in regulation we had a chance to make it a 2 possession game with a good drive and we didn’t take advantage and what’s crazy is it played out exactly the same w against Texas. Had a lead in the 4th and had the ball and didn’t execute and gave Michigan/Texas a shot to come back and Michigans was much more finite because w Texas we straight up gave the ball back and subsequently let them score where as Michigan had to go 99 yds and did it emphatically, they earned it a lot more than Texas but a win is a win either way not taking anything away from Texas I just think they had an easier path to victory in week 2 vs bama than Michigan did in the playoff which as a Bama fan I’m not pleased w the results but I’m pleased w how it ended like I can atleast point to Michigan game and say well we made it as hard as we could on them and they were just better in the end where as w Texas we kinda handed them a score and then they ran away w it.

    How did this happen? Two things. Reese is a young OC, very young and inexperienced. From back up players to starting centers, you got to practice this until you are practically dead from it. And yes, UGA's second string with much of their first intact could and did blow out a scrimmage team for FSU. UGA did have some players our but let's get real it was a drop compared to what FSU had out. Actually thought what TN did was more impressive than hanging 63 on a scrimmage team. I got 7 less than UGA games they played vs one blow out over a scrimmaging FSU team lol. And no, I don't think for a second UGA would stand a chance against WA, let alone Texas and I'd still pick Bama in a rematch with UGA. UGA is a very well coached program, imo, maybe better than Bama's at a number of sub units. For the record I picked UM and WA and to cover, even though I'm SEC homer. I pulled for the SEC with my heart but knew neither Bama nor UGA had the working schemes of WA or UM, no matter any depth disparity. This is how you get to those mistakes in games where it's scheme vs depth. Depth will always make more mistakes and find a way to lose the game. And it happened in both games this weekend. I would be shocked if Reese lasts the offseason. Bama had no scheme all season offensively. It was RPO under the legs and occasional arm of Milroe, nothing else. Aided by depth. But it's when you get into the playoff and natty games where you see when the depth is more closely met, scheme is what wins the game. The AU game was a long pass, luck miracle pass. The last play in OT in this game came down to strategy and scheme. We can speculate of busted plays but this was Milroe all the way up the center as UM had not stopped it all game and UM gambled Bama would do this. Not like they'd risk MIlroe for a quick slant or even an actual RB other than MIlroe running perimeter or center. It had to be MIlroe and they called for it. All game long nothing worked other than Milroe up the middle.

    • @Skybolt211
      @Skybolt211 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@YaBoi_Zi GTFO. I swear some of you people are brain damaged. UGA had a couple of starters out due to "injury.," and a bunch of guys that have transferred out that weren't even hitting the field anyway. Otherwise, you didn't have a single starter opt out and it was harped on ad nauseum during the game by the commentators, by all the media condemning FSU's "culture", and mentioned multiple times by Kirby. FSU literally had 3 of the 22 starters from last year playing. It wasn't even similar to the team FSU fielded all year. And no FSU fan is going to argue that UGA doesn't have much better depth than FSU, Norvell has not had top recruiting classes years in a row. So I guess your coach is Kirby Stupid then, because in post game, there were multiple questions about how he had "ZERO" opt-outs where he bragged on his players and their commitment, and then he had a whole f'in statement on how it wasn't fair to the FSU kids that played that UGA came in relatively full-strength and beat the dogcrap out of a shell of the FSU team. His exact words were, "we had our guys, they didn't have their guys" and "it's unfortunate for those guys on that sideline that had to play the game without their full arsenal, and it DID affect the game."

      @@CareySullivan-cu3fw You are right and this goes back to the advantageous of younger more hungry coaches. Things like this bother them to no earth's end and Saban assumes his OC will take care of it. You just notice less things as an old HC rather than coaches that know things like this can lose games. Yep. I said even before the preseason, you need elite passing QB's stacked up waiting their turn and learning the game. That is how Mac Jones won at Bama, waited his turn and Bama wasn't left without an elite passing QB. This goes to development also. Depth and QB legs don't beat teams that can meet your lines but have better passing QB's and better more sound schemes. Bama's offense can be summed up this season as RPO's and not much more. Where was this year's Gibbs for Bama and a WR like Waddle? Those gys were only elite because Bama had an elite passers. I wonder if Saban really thought he was getting Nico and neglected a bit the QB situation back than. Imo, get a more experienced OC and go get some elite passers. Kaidon Salter would be a start. He may go to AU but Salter is elite and a great bridge until you get a passer. The OC should have made sure the snapping improved to elite by mid season.

I was particularly impressed the way you watched the Michigan-Alabama game. You were obviously disappointed but you held your composure despite the emotions you were going through. I've been a Michigan fan since I was 8 and I can't say that I've ever contained my composure as you did until I was well into my 50's. Congratulations to you on your channel and congratulations to Alabama for having a successful season and winning the SEC despite everyone writing them off after the UT game. I've been subscribed to your channel for some time but for some reason it's showing that I'm not subscribed. I'll make sure to hit that button again. Thanks again. Wish us luck in the championship game against UW. Regards!

    Tbh bama looked sloppy the last 3 games. Got bailed out with a miracle play vs auburn and Georgia just happened to play their worst game in 2 years. Finally caught up with them in the Michigan game. Giving off real Eagles vibes. Smh

    If Alabama had won this game it wouldn't have felt good because we deserved to lose. I don't think Alabama could have handled Washington or Texas anyways. We were lucky to come out of the Michigan game as close as we did.

    The weak link at the beginning of the season was the O line. They cost Bama the game with Texas having two touchdowns being called back due to being offsides. The same with the second game. Over the season they improved and got better as a unit except the Center. Saban should have benched him after that second game. I mean how can a center be offsides? But this guy managed to do it multiple times over the season. Not counting how many bad snaps he did during the season. Having two bad snaps during a game where everything was on the line is inexcusable. My hope is this will be addressed before the spring game. I also hope they find a kicker as good as Will Reichard. He has been the most reliable part of Bama's offense since he arrived. I do wish him the best of luck in the NFL. Any team will be lucky to draft him.

    Why is nobody talking about the terrible performance by our linebackers. On the defensive play Matt showed a linebacker was supposed be on corum. On the TD Michigan scored in OT the reason he got lose is because whoever number 17 is ran through the wrong whole and knocked down Dallas turner thus creating an even bigger hole for Corum to run through.

    Imo this was the deciding factor in the game:
    Average age of Bama starters: 19 years old recent HS graduates that are talented but young
    Average age of Michigan players: 28 years old experienced football player graduate students from the transfer portal.

    It’s always a series of events that leads to tragedy. It’s never just “one play” because of things had gone differently on another series then that play wouldn’t have mattered. I like the way you Wemt through the series of events. If they had just done their job on that first series of the half then it’s an entirely different story at the end. But even still they had a chance, blew it. Got another chance, blew it.
    Did you see the winning percentage in the fourth quarter? Alabama had the game in hand! I was sure we (I’m a Michigan alum) were about to lose again. Then… that drive to tie it up. Then the stop. Then losing the coin toss but scoring easily. Then that stop!
    I was a sophomore at Michigan in 1997, that was great. Deja vu! Now my son is a senior in high school and a Michigan fan so, this has been a great year. That game will be one I remember forever. But it was almost a disaster. Probably should have been. Heartbreaking, I’m sure. But, easily the best game I’ve seen in years for drama!

    The reason why the snapping never got better. It's because this kid isn't self accountable. You can obviously tell the way he acted. After the bad snaps, he doesn't think he's at fault. That's why it never got corrected....SMH.

    I remember not to long ago we could kick field goals to save our life. 2 years in a row, we can’t hike the ball consistently. I cannot understand for the life of me why a program like Alabama can’t find a good center. We are one of the top two programs in the nation. Between us and Georgia. And we can’t find a center? Recruit or portal transfer?!?! I mean come on…we’re Alabama! At this point let’s just buys one. Just kidding of course.😉

    Man, as a guy who had to switch positions to play center once upon a time, I get McLaughlin’s struggle. Snapping is very much a mental challenge if you’re not used to it. However, there’s no excuse for not fixing the problem *somewhere* during the season. Anyways, I saw that Seth McLaughlin is transferring, so best of luck to him. #mattbelovingfeetpics

    I have to pause it at 6:20 about 2nd half adjustments. Saban may be good as well but Michigan also was ranked the #1 team in 2nd half so it’s a toss up who’s the best. Saban of course is eligible to have his whole squad full of 4-5 stars unlike Michigan because of academic standards..

    @zambachoo 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I remember in high school I’d always have to come off the sidelines during the 3rd and forth quarter (we were usually winning big during the regular season) to snap the ball because the other centers couldn’t do a shotgun snap. But I didn’t go play and the college level but the kids after me did. It’s all about how fast you can be while big and I was only 180 and 5’10”
