Hey Matt, as a Georgia fan, I think Ohio state had that win but RYAN DAY is the sole reason they lost that game in 2023. They had the best QB WR duo of the last 5 years arguably, had time to get closer for the field goal kicker to kick it, and CJ Stroud was dicing up our defense like no other, Ryan Day is the sole issue with this Ohio State team.

Buckeye here from the Woody years (hey what's that vid of Kirby assaulting an MSU freshman QB?). The eyebrows are perking up. It's not the record...it's the WAY they've lost those close games against great teams. A fg to GA, a recalled scoop and score over Celmson in '19, now this. Two of the three UM losses don't count as UM was playing by a different set of rules of their own, but 2023...this same way of losing AGAIN. Some are conjecturing about a certain legendary position coach having differences in vision and scheme than the DC. The lack of pressure on Saturday gives credence to all of that conjecture. The defense muders bad offenses, but turtles against elites. For me, it beats Urban's losing to freaking Iowa ('17) of wtf Purdue ('18) and missing the 4X playoff...but he'd win the BIG games. It's starting to remind me of the Cooper years:: Top flight talent, but not enough bloodthirsty in the games. Jim Tressel came off as Mr Rodgers, but was a savage on the sideline (that didn't swear). So yeah, we're noticing up here.

I am not surprised at all they lost. As an OSU fan I’ve thought he has to go 3 years ago but especially after last year. You can tell the identity of the team hasn’t been the same during his tenure. They have barely won any important games during his and those are what matter at the end of the day. You’re definitely right about the talent level too they’re too good of a roster to not snag some of these games for as close as some have been. They even almost lost to Notre Dame last year which made me lose any hope for that season. The lack of winning big games has been something we’ve been complaining about for years now. He’s a great guy and a good coach but I don’t think they can win a natty with him when they’ve only won 1 playoff game. I’d love to see him figure it out and be able to coach them through these close, big time games but it doesn’t seem like it’s gonna happen.

It’s been time. I’m realist Ohio state fan sadly so I see right through it. Slow starts, team looking uninspired, soft trenches etc.
They can bring in the recruits but that will die down if they continue to lose in big games. Their problem is deeply rooted, they need a head coach that can fire them up, and Ryan Day is NOT that. You can see in his demeanor and it shows in big games too; playing soft & scared.
Sadly still a lot of dumb Ohio state fans that don’t see that and are happy about beating bad, borderline high school teams 😂 they need to stop scheduling those as much and learn to beat decent teams. Then maybe they won’t shit themselves against good teams

As a Michigan fan, and I think my anOSU rivals can agree with what I'm about to say, but I'd rather go 0-11 and then beat anOSU at the end of the season, than go 11-0 and then lose to anOSU. The entire season is worthless if we can't win the important games.
If anOSU beat Oregon, then maybe that would've proven that Ryan Day finally got his shit together. But he didn't, showing that he simply is incapable of winning the big games. Any big games he did win in the past was more about gliding off of Urban Meyer's coattails than Day's own skill.
