  • "Willie's Planet" by Mike Ellis is a science fiction story centered on a character named Willie and his journey to an alien, sterile planet that remains uninhabited for millions of years. The narrative follows Willie and his companions as they explore the planet, discovering its unique and unsettling characteristics, such as a lack of decay and no signs of life. The story delves into themes of isolation, exploration, and the human desire for a fresh start away from the crowded and familiar confines of Earth. Willie's dream of farming a quiet, untouched world encapsulates a common yearning for simplicity and solitude among space explorers.

Magnetar my friend... What a beautiful story! It really makes ya think, ya know! Willie is going to help bring life to that planet. One could say he's like the god of that planet. I mean no one would really know that his "essence" is actually part of the planet, right ? His buddy could write a book on him, like a prophet ! No? Yes? Oh boy, am I getting a little freaky on this comment?! Yeah, I think I'm getting a little freaky!🤨 🤪 Ok, anyhoo, I think I need my coffee (with pepermint mocha creamer & Vodka! Yes, it is tasty! ) Thanks for your great story my friend enjoy the day...🙋 ~the Lady of the Woods 🌲

Why would decay wait for humans before it occurs?
    Plants have bacteria too.

Plants don' create bacteria. What is described in this story happened on Earth as well. That is how we got coal and oil. Prehistoric dead ferns that couldn't decay because there was nothing at that time, that could break down lignin. So they just pilled up, got covered by sediment and turned into coal and oil.

Are they contained within fern spores?
