I’ll have to take your word on the “most states” part. I hunt missouri, so I know Missouri’s regs. I did look at the surrounding stated and only Tennessee, Kentucky, and the South Zone of Illinois have the no turkey calls restriction. Locator calls are still fine. Of course you should know the regs of the state you hunt in.
I decided not to take your word for most states and checked the states surrounding missouri, plus up the coast from Florida to New York, the gulf states, and the Great Lake states. Of the 30 states I checked, the three that I mentioned early were the only ones to say anything about restrictions on calling preseason.
Informed Outdoors thanks and same to you also I’m wondering if you know any tripods that I could when sitting up against a tree hunting turkey cause I’m have one for my blind but I want to try something new this year and the tripod for my blind is too tall
I typically just leave my shotgun resting on my knee when I'm up against a tree, but I have used my Caldwell Shooter's Pod before and it worked just fine. It took a little bit to get it situated right. I would think any tripod would work, or even a monopod.
Most states don't allow anyone to use a turkey call until the opening day. Locator calls are allowed but to a limit.
Wow I've never heard that. Wonder what the thought process is behind that?
@@InformedOutdoors IDK but if you hunt on public land and read the states regs you would see that.

Thanks for all the great tips
So if my season starts at the beginning of April I should start scouting about mid march
That’s exactly when I’d start scouting.
Informed Outdoors thank you
No problem! Good luck!
