My iPhone Won't Play YouTube Videos! Here's The Fix.

- Two Apple experts explain what to do when your iPhone won't play TH-cam videos. A lot of the time, this is the result of a poor Wi-Fi connection or an app crash. Make sure your iPhone is connected to a reliable Wi-Fi or cellular data network.
Close and reopen the app you're using to watch TH-cam. You can also try using a different app to watch TH-cam (Safari, TH-cam App, Creator Studio). If your app continues to crash, delete and reinstall it.
If all else fails, try a DFU (device firmware update) restore. Watch our DFU mode videos to learn how to restore your iPhone:

@Carbon Josh G try restarting your cell phone..same thing happened to me. Once I restarted, youtube videos played fine.
I restarted and it fixed for a few minutes now it’s messed up again 1/20/23

1)If ur using youtube on safari, try the app. If using app, try safari.
2)Close all the apps
3)Clear history and website data for safari in settings.
4)Check wifi. If using wifi, try cellular. If using cellular, try wifi.
5)Delete youtube app and redownload.
6)Reset to default settings
Video in a nutshell for all with this problem and dont have access to a different computer, tablet, etc to watch

Great video guys. My issue is in some videos and not all and mainly when video is less than 10min length. I know this is strange but that is my observation. Any help would be highly appreciated

Well not sure what is going on but I’ve looked all over the internet and can’t find any answers. I am subscribed to TH-cam premium and have videos downloaded to watch offline but when I go to click on one of the downloads I get a message saying this device is not authorized to play this content. This happens when I am connected to the internet, if I am offline downloads don’t even show up at all. I am using an iPhone 6 with the TH-cam app. Phone and app are both up to date. Can watch other videos just fine only downloads I am having problems with. Any ideas? All help is appreciated. Thanks. Zach.

Nope. My TH-cam app on my iPhone 7s allows me to watch videos, but when i try to click on the videos below the video I’m watching, you know on the “Up next”, I can click them, but they won’t play. The shade of color that acknowledges that I’m clicking on the video darkens around the selected video, but the video itself won’t open. So I have to go back and type that video’s title in the search bar to find it separately, and then click it to play if I want to see it.
So. What’s your advice with that?
I already shut down my apps, updated the TH-cam app, turned the phone off and on. I have plenty of storage. My internet connection is stellar.

I have an old iphone. (A seven). I don't see an update tab when I go into the app store. I have been having problems receiving calls and playing TH-cam vidoes while I'm outside. This had never happened before. Do you think I need a new phone? When I'm in my home I have one bar for my service. However, even when I'm outside and all my bars are up I still can't seem to play TH-cam. I can receive my phone calls better. I have never had this problem. I was always able to play videos where ever I was.

I have an iPhone 8. I bought a pair of Bluetooth earbuds for it . This created a problem because when my earbuds are connected my phone works flawlessly, however when they are disconnected I can’t play audio, video because it crashes my phone and restarts it sometimes it even does this when performing simpler functions. I must note that it can get calls and the audio works just fine on calls but anything else and it crashes like a wave. I have tried every option possible on Bluetooth settings reset settings, history and then after I did everything else I could think of I reset everything and reset my phone up from the beginning, but nope it’s still doesn’t work. I have even tried connecting it to other Bluetooth devices, it connects but still crashes and has the same problems as if it’s not. It’s like it’s soulmates with these particular earbuds and determined to stay faithful and can’t function without being connected to them any advice would be appreciated, thanks
YOU FIXED MY PROBLEM -- it was the power supply to my USB headphone amp. It was not plugged in completely. I figured it out because non-connecting earbuds created the problem for you, so I figured it might be this nice new headphone amp.

I’m having trouble because when I go in the TH-cam app, it says: “the app is not shared with you anymore. To use it, you have to buy it in the App Store” so I go to the App Store and I already have it so I click the “OPEN” button and then it just says the same thing. Any solutions?

Check your date/time if vids load but don't play.
I set my date back to save a photo in date order in the photo roll but forgot to change it back. TH-cam worked as soon as I did.
I want videos to auto play. I have auto play selected but at the end of a video in a playlist the thing stops and prompts me to select play next. Drives me nuts. I need music to play nonstop to sleep. Help?

I had the same problem(that the video would load but it just won’t play) none of these solutions worked for me. But finally I went to mobile data in settings and looked for TH-cam and checked if it’s on it was in my case so I just toggled it off then turned it back on. It worked for me✌️

Really surprised you two didnt mention the VPN. My VPN shut my youtube down. I set it the night before to turn on automatically, well that was a big mistake. Turn your VPN off people.

I just lost half of my braincells trying to find a solution that isn’t on youtube.
I’ve had this problem for 2 days on an iPad - since IOS 17.5.1. I found fix myself - turn off Apple Private Relay for 24 hours. While this is not ideal, it does seem to fix things for me. Either Google/TH-cam or Apple’s IOS seem to have introduced something that causes this impasse, at least for me! Called Apple and had a phone call with them. I did delete youtube and reinstall, this made no difference.
