- The action from the British Racing and Sports Car Club summer race weekend at Brands Hatch; we were graced with plenty of sprint and endurance races from some very quick bits of kit... and some rather slow ones too!
This video mostly consists of the slower end of that spectrum, with the Silverlake C1 endurance and the City Car Cup races being rather chaotic. We had a countless number of safety cars and red flags from each race with many battered and bruised cars to show for it but the BRSCC and Brands Hatch staff did an amazing job to keep the meeting running smoothly and on time despite all of these set backs. Thankfully, the little cherry on top is that no one was seriously injured in any of the accidents this weekend, and I've already heard a few drivers talking about repairs/re-shells ready for the rounds to come!

When asking C1 drivers what position they finished in most responded with 'upside down'
The C1s didn't fail to entertain on Saturday. Nice to see a current BTCC driver take part, and his award for doing so was a place on the top step along with his co drivers.
Sufficiently put off ever guest driving in C1’s 😂

On one hand, it's reassuring to know that other drivers struggle in the same turn.
On the other hand, nothing, there was money there, but it had to go to the repair bill
great footage
Thanks Dan!
racing at brands on Saturday :D
What was that Closed wheel doing on the track with the Open Wheel FF1600s at the start?
It was from Friday testing, seems that the Radical/Prototypes like that are classified as Open Wheel, not sure why.
I know it's a great success story with oversubscribed grids etc... but in over 40 years of motor racing I've never known a car as unstable as the C1/Aygo/108 on a track. Even the gangly 2CV would lean and stay upright. There are just way too many shunts. Anyway I'll probably be told off for saying that now :(
BMW Mini like to roll well.
Totally agree- completely unstable at anything other than a perfectly smooth line. Tiny bit of steering input and you are a passenger
@@jamesbutler3042 They do... but not to this extent.
there's a lot of novice drivers... on low traction tyres... i think that has a lot to do with it
@@dannyDC2 True Danny but if those things were shod with anything stickier they'd be on their roofs through normal cornering. The wheelbase is too short and CoG too high.
Can I get some footage from you for training use?
What sort of training is it for? And what clips are you interested in?
Unfortunately I’m pretty sure what you see in the video is everything I have, but you’re absolutely welcome to it.
Too may C1’s on the grid, especially when some of the drivers shouldn’t even be allowed on the race track. Accident/s waiting to happen.
At 4:30 "that will be $1000 for the tow sir."
