      No. The old system is wiped and essentially a new system. If you use it it will have to be a new login and will be seperate from any of your eshop username data. You can not share a profile between systems.

    What if I already have games downloaded on my N2DSXL but I'm unable to log onto my Nintendo network ID since it's ok my N3DSXL

    • @giantjaz
      @giantjaz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So you can only log on to a nintendo network id on 1 system at a time as im sure you're already aware of. If those game on the 2ds were bought on that account youll have access to them via the redownload option on the eshop on your 3ds. If those are preinstalled on the system and you transfer something to it or wipe it youll not be able to get them back. The only way to have those games back is if you have access to a system that uses the same nintendo netowrk id

    • @giantjaz
      @giantjaz  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Make sure both are connected to the same wifi network. This means you'll have to have at least set up the new 3ds enough to adjust that. Outside of that if it's still not working you may have to go to nintendo support for help.

  • @Plexplay
    @Plexplay ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Quick question: Were the playtimes of your games transferred as well? My old 3ds XL is dead, but I plan on repairing it to transfer its data to a new 3ds XL and to me, honestly, the playtimes are the most important (idk why, I just miss taking a look at which games I played for how long). So did that work for you? Otherwise I would just fully repair my old 3ds XL and keep it as it was before it died years ago

    • @giantjaz
      @giantjaz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      When it comes to game save data you need to also download the save data transfer tool. My video does not make mention of this and i have never used it.
      If you have followed prompts and have the correct sd cards inserted in your systems it shouldnt have issues transferring the games itself, keep in mind that save data specifically requires the use of that other program. If you complete the transfer without using that you will have access to the games but your data will be lost.
      If its just the games themselves you're concerned about. You dont actually have to transfer them. If they are linked to your nintendo ID then once you have completed your transfer you can just go to the eshop log in to your nintendo ID and redownload the software.
      Outside of that. If you're having issues or errors like it seems you have been i would reach out to nintendo customer suport.

    How do I avoid deleting Mario Kart 7 when transferring!? Cause it said it will delete it alongside Streetpass Mii Plaza. Will it transfer my Nintendo Network account!? Will I be able to redownload software!?? I’m transferring from a 3DS XL to my New (pun not intended) 2DS XL. Also which SD Card did you use after the transfer? The one you took off from the source?

    • @giantjaz
      @giantjaz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the system you are transferring to has been set up or has any preinstalled software on it it will be deleted during the transfer process. There is no way to save it other than transferring this system to another. If the system was setup under the same nintendo id you may be able to redownload it but otherwise it is lost.
      I upgraded to a larger SD card before setup and transfer. I replaced the existing one in the system before i turned it on for the first time so i wouldnt have to worry about it.

However, I want to have all my register information (hours in every game, etc) in the new console and I don't know if I will be able to transfer information if the second-hand console owner has already registered a Nintendo ID account or the current owner has done something with the gadget. Can you transfer your data to a second hand console without problems?

    • @giantjaz
      @giantjaz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Remember that regardless of what kind of system you transfer to the target system will be completely wiped of all data in the process and your old system once transfered will be left completely wiped. No old data will be left behind from the previous user. Make sure that if you have any questions about specific data to refer to the nintendo website and follow and read all prompts. If you have internally saved games (digital) that you obtain the save data transfer tool as well (my video does not cover this).

      If you have save dataon console you needa save data transfer tool seperately. And you should check nintendos site for more in depth answers and make sure to follow all instructions and prompts on screen.

    Hi jason olsen, I need your help. How can I transfer all the software licenses from my old 3ds to my New 3DS XL? Because I found out at one of the websites says that it will wipe (transfer) everything out of the 3DS console, except the licenses (Software licenses) which it makes me nervous. Also, I think that Software Licenses were important to me, because it makes to redownload and play these games well again. Think you can tell me how to do it? I was meant to do a transfer between old 3DS console and New 3DS XL Console. Although there is an option: "Low-Capacity microSD Card Transfer" which makes it transfer all the software licenses. But I also want to know if there is an alternate method of transfer all software licenses instead of using the Low-Capacity microSD Card Transfer as well. Please Comment Me Soon. See You Later.

      When you transfer data from an old console to a new the old system will be wiped. Software licenses move with your profile. Once youve completed the transfer to the new console you can redownload your spftware frol the eshop without any hassle as long as youve signed into the same nintendo id that was on the old console.
      Please remember that transferring to the new system will wipe anything that was on it. If it was blank in the first place you're fine. But remember you can not merge data during a transfer.
      Follow the prompts and use the sd card transfer only if that method suits you. If not you can always just redownload the software once youve completed the transfer.
      Also i do not talk about this in my video but of you have save data from digital games on your system you will need to download and use the save data transfer tool from the eshop before you transfer your profile.
      In the end licenses are attached to your profile. As long as you have access to that you have access to your licenses. There are no alternative ways of transferring.

    I have a question, I want to buy a nintendo 3ds XL and transfer my nintendo 2ds system to it, but I think I use the normal sd card, not the micro sd. Can I do it or do I need a micro sd?

    • @giantjaz
      @giantjaz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The new system uses micro SD. You can transfer but if you have a lot saved on your existing system you will need to install a larger micro SD card in the new system before you do. Otherwise you could get a micro SD card for your current system and use pc to copy the existing SD card to the micro SD card and then transfer normally and select the login to use the existing SD card when you do.

      you can do it either way, you just have to make sure the DS card on the new system is big enough. the system will also tell you if it's unable to move something.

    I just wish there was a way to use another microsd card to go with the transfer. I found out the hard way that you need to use the card from your old system in the new one once the transfer is complete, and the one I've had ever since my first system is a piece of poop. >:(

    • @giantjaz
      @giantjaz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The best thing to do here is use a card reader either before the transfer or after it and move all file from the old to a pc and then insert the new sd card and copy them to that. Effectively youve put the same sd card back into the system as far as its concerned.

    Can you transfer 2ds xl used to another used 2ds xl?

    • @giantjaz
      @giantjaz  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The used or new status of system does not matter. If there is any data on the "newer" system you are transferring to however, it will be deleted in full when you complete the transfer.

    I have a question, the 3dsxl system I have is an original 3DS XL system it is a silver Mario and Luigi version and it is the 30th year anniversary of Luigi's debut Edition. and I want to transfer the data from that to my new Nintendo 2DS XL now will that be possible? if so move the game that was preinstalled on the original 3DS XL system be deleted from that system even though technically it's being transferred to the new Nintendo 2DS XL??? The game on the 3DSxl is Mario and luigi dreamteam. And if I transfer the data will the gsme on my 2DSXL system get deleted or lost? The game that is preinstalled on the 2dsxl is mariokart7

      Not confusing, remember, when you transfer systems, nothing will be left on the old system and anything on the new system will be lost and replaced with what was on the old system. You will not be able to keep the mario kart 7 game.

    I wanted to know, if you know please answer, but my current 3ds xl has an upgraded card. The battery died and it will only play when plugged up. So, I'm gonna buy a new console. I wanted to know, can I simply remove the SD card from the old system and place it in the new one without all the song and dance of removing the card in the new system and reformatting it with a computer? I no longer have the desktop or laptop to do so. And it would suck having to limit my games to certain ones because the card will get full stopping me from saving or buying new games without deleting old ones.

    • @giantjaz
      @giantjaz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can not just take an sd card from one system and move it to another.
      You will have to use the profile transfer option once you have both systems and select the option to move everything including the sd card. If you have digital games make sure you download and use the save transfer tool as well. You dont need apc or anything. Thats really only needed if you're going from an older large SD card to a micro.

    • @giantjaz
      @giantjaz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can not. If you transfer to a system that system is wiped. You cN not merge data from 2 seperate 3ds systems.
      The only wayitwould work is if they both usethe same nintendo id info. You would just log in with the id to eshop once you transfer and redownload the stuff you had previously purchased.

      That was actually what I was going to ask. I know the 2dsXL only comes with a 4GB card but I need more space than that. So if I link my same Nintendo ID on the 2DSXL delete MK7, re-download it it should show up in my Redownloadable Software on the Eshop after the transfer.
      I'm trying to move everything on my old 3ds onto a New 2DSXL but I don't want to lose MK7.

    • @giantjaz
      @giantjaz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. If you ise the same nintendo id youll be fine. Thats what the digital content is linked to. Even if you upgrade your sd card. As long as you do the transfer properly and log back in afterwards you can redownload.
