Kinda surprised there wasn't a chapter named just "Metal" or "METAL" in all caps if you wanna be extra. I like the multiple puns of "Crossing Swords" but I think this list is missing something that'll make you laugh as well as cry. "And Thus, Boy Met Girl" is my favourite chapter title in 2 because that's exactly how I reacted when it popped up after the post-credits scene.

20:17 well the german title for Xeno 2’s last chapter is ‘Sein letztes Geschenk’ which translates to ‘His last gift’ and I personally like this title way more then the english one.
Considering Xenoblade 2 had quite appropriate and thematic chapter names, I find it weird for the first game to not have them.

Thoughts on chapter 6 as "To Scale a Titan" and chapter 13 as "To Fell a Titan"?
I feel it preserves the proposed "Bionis vs. Mechonis" dynamic and fits that oh so sweet Xeno poetic-ness.
Still torn as to whether the goal by 13 is actually still to kill Mechonis, given Shulk's pacifism against Mumkhar just the chapter before? Maybe I just like cool relations between titles lol

Man, speaking chills, I STILL get them whenever I think of the final chapter title of Xenoblade 2. That was a masterstroke on the part of the translators.
I liked the chapter names in Xenoblade 2 and it was fun to see you flex your creative muscles and apply chapter names to the first game

What parts of each game happen at the same time. (example is when Shulk and Rex kill their boss at the same time)
Super late, but I think that's near impossible. Discounting the entire cameo Blades thing, the closest we can possibly get is that Shulk gets the True Monado first, kills Zanza, then Aion boss fight, then the end for both stories happens. The only contact we ever have between them IS the iconic line Shulk gives before ending Zanza. And even then, Shulk and Rex have little syncing other than their finales just so happen to coincide. Not to say your idea is a bad thought, just a weird coincidence if it were possible.
I will try my own chapternames I think. I will put explanations for each name and I will base them on the video, so if I am not giving a chapter a name, then it will be the one from Luxin.
Chapter3:Vision
The visionmechanic is explained in more detail and put into gameplay. Furthermore, alvis basically gives shulk a vision for the end of the game in an abstract way and at the end of the chapter, shulk gets a metaphorical and literal look(Or vision) at his goal.
Chapter9:Xenoblade Chronicles
Yeah, I am blowing my load here and I will certainly not regret it. No, this is not only a funny titledrop and a convinient way to get the english gamename into the japanese version(In a parallel universe where I decided what they are doing with the game), but also a cornerstone for the entire story. We are learning a lot about the backstory and the monado itself where the chronicles-part comes from. However, it also is the first hint outside the titlescreen that something is off. It calls the monado xenoblade, so it must come from somewhere else. If the player would assume it is just a titledrop, then they would not catch that detail but it is amazing for a second playthrough.
Also, a titledrop fits because it is the point when the narrative does a 180. It becomes more about saving what is left than avenging what is already gone.
Chapter11:Blades interlocked
The title is literally the same as in the video, but I just want to change the words because the new writing of the title is a reference towards the xenoblade and an equivalent meeting(Which is also a passive callback to the fight of the titans with that), while still keeping all the other symbolisms.
Chapter13: Mechonis, foe of the beginning.
The same as Luxins title except that I added a subtitle. This will make more sense later on.
Chapter14:Vengance and Betrayal.
This is ironically the part where Shulk getting vengance becomes a backburner, the plot is basically about everything else. However, this is a bait and switch and the title actually refers to egil. He acts purely out of revenge against bionis and also says that everyone on the titan betrayed him, even tho he actually betrayed them.
Final Clash:Change the future
Sorry Luxin, XCX is getting done dirty today. I just think that it fits better here, because it basically is about changing the future of destruction and coming close to the best possible outcome, just for chapter 16(The curse of Zanza)to say "no, this is not happening". It just has thematic relevance. As for the final clash, I think it is a decent bait as it is accurate and also does not downright state it is the end of the game, just the end of the clash between Shulk and mechonis.
Chapter17/Final Chapter:Bionis, god of the end.
Now we are talking about why I called mechonis the foe of the beginning. I just wanted to build up to the yin and yang of the two titans and also reference the opposite approaches of the gods. Both want to create new worlds, but while meyneth wants to build forwards into the future(Beginning), Zanza wants to achive his goal by destroying the past instead(The end). God of the end also fits the thematic of the plot at the moment, that the world is gone if the groop does not hurry up.

Yeah, I am cheating here. This is a new chaptersplit where the chapter begins right before the fight against Zanza and ends right before the epilogue. The reason I wanted "Monado" in there was because it builds suspence as everything about the chapter is monado and I think alvis needs some kind of mention in this. It is also the entire original gametitle instead of only part of it, so that is an added bonus. About the endgame-thing...I just got inspired by fire emblem because in some games, the final map is not called final map but instead "endgame". And I just did both titles because yes. And it essencially is correct too because this new chapter is just the end of the previous one.

I really like these, I think chapter 14 should be called "Souls" or "Spirits" because its revealed that Fiora has two souls and Egil proclaims at the end to become the new soul of the Mechinis. Actually maybe "Soul of the Mechonis" would work too

Really good ideas there. My only one I had once I started watching was "Beyond the Sky" for the ending cutscene, which is kinda similar to what you had, but in reference to the amazing song that plays
I remember thinking that the game would end with fighting Metal Face on top of Mechonis as I thought the vision of the fight was on Mechonis and not prison island

I’d personally rename chapter 3 to “sight” or “vision” or something as that’s the chapter where visions start to become a focal point in both story and gameplay. I also want a chapter title to have the word telethia in there somewhere. I think chapter 16 could be named bionis as while not stating zanza, does elude to him and the now hostile nature of the bionis

I think another good name for chapter 17 is the end and the beginning. I know it is probably a bit spoilery but thinking about that title gives me chills. It works really well because Klaus ended one universe and made a new one and Shulk did the same thing practically. I think it would also get the player thinking.

My idea was the chapter where Zanza would upgrade the Monado to the Monado II would be called “Zanza” and the chapter where he comes back after Mechonis Core would be called “Zanza Returns.” So on a first playthrough you might expect it to be the giant coming back to save the day for our heroes, but it’s a lot deeper than that and it’s Zanza in his god form that returns. The chapter starts/ends might not make this line up though. This would work great if the chapter ended right after Dickson says “You shouldn’t have done that, little brat!” And the next chapter starts right after with the title “Zanza Returns.” That’s just my idea though, but I wanted to put it out there.

Personally, I'd make chapters one and two have a dichotomy to them. Something like "Greetings" and "Farewells".
I would honestly like to name the last chapter something less direct. My suggestions would be "alvis" "God" "meet them all" "space" "system broken" "belongs to whom?" just to name a few
I'll try naming Xenoblade 1's chapters. Better late than never, I guess.

I keep thinking that Xenoblade Chronicles would work amazing as an animated series, but the main problem is having the whole story within 1 season. Having every chapter being a single episode would work for the season issue and some of the chapters work out really well in that format but because of the various sizes of some chapters it would make the pacing awful

It always bothered me that 2 has its prologue as chapter 1. It’s way too short.

Combine Chapter 15 & 16 together so it’s only Chapter 15, so the game will have 16 Chapters in total not 17. And name it: I am you and you are me. It’s a line from Far Cry 3 and I think it fits really well thematically. It refernaces how Egil and Shulk are pretty much the same person (just like how Vaas and Jason from Far Cry 3 were) and how Zanza and Shulk are literally the same person.
Personally i would call chapter 10 "nemisis" fiona is face nemisis, and mumkhar and egil are dunban and shulks nemisi/nemisises (screw the english language) respectivly
