    Hip mobility and flexibility plays a key role in how we ride and communicate with the horse through the seat and our leg aids. If like me you are also guilty or skipping out on the stretch routine - here is a short stretch program (for the inflexible) that focuses on our hips and the areas connected to them.

    I added this to my workout routine this week, because boy…… do I need some hip mobility 🤣
    I also love how you explain the movements throughout the video, it’s like I’m in a class with an instructor 😁

      Don't we all! 😂 It is so normal to have tight and weak hip flexors, especially if you are sitting a lot during the day. Happy to hear you enjoy the instructions 😊

    Hello! Thank you for the video! I have been doing these exercise for a month more or leats, twice per week since I have problems with my hips while riding, and now I am getting better! I am seeing the results, not only while I follow your steps at home, yet also on the saddle! Thank you, my horses and I are happier now

    Super workout. But I have a problem with my knees so any movement thar involves kneeling causes a lot of pain. Any standing versions?

    • @HorseLearnerFitness
      @HorseLearnerFitness  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sabine! Glad you enjoyed this 😊 And YES, the 2 exercises on the knees can also be done standing. With the hip rotations it might be good to be close to a wall in case you need it for balance. For the hip flexor stretch, you can replicate the exact same movement, just standing up - make sure to rotate your pelvis forward like you're tucking your tail between your legs and you should feel it! 😊 I hope that helps!

    question about the hip airplanes, i feel like every time i do them i lean to the side a lot, is that normal? you make it look like it should be completely straight forward, and when i do that i cant bring my back leg up all the way

      Hi Steph! Great question 👍 This exercise is challenging for the balance so don't worry if it takes you a little time to master it. Your hips should be even and it's OK if your leg doesn't lift super high. The most important is that you control the movement and use the grounded leg and hip to stabilize. The fact that the leg doesn't come all the way up yet could be that you need a little more strength in the glutes and hamstrings, but it could also relate to your flexibility. I hope that helps! 😊

    How soon should I do this before I ride?

    • @HorseLearnerFitness
      @HorseLearnerFitness  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there. It's really up to you and what fits your routine. Just make sure your muscles are warmed up a little before stretching so for instance after doing stable work and before your ride or even after riding 😊🐴
