- In the worst possible freezing conditions, in January 2013, Avalanche Endurance Events were the first company to offer this legendary special forces test march to civilians.
Since then other copycat companies have joined in on the action.

As ex SAS you have to try running up a mountain with a Burgan with an empty jerrycan. Sent to run down to a stream and fill it with water, run back up to the instructor who asks can you put a tot of whisky in it ? Yes. Empty and run back down and fill the can again making sure you can not put a tot of whisky in it. Run back up totally fucked and the instructor says empty the can and do it again. You start running back down and he shouts for you to stop after 100 metres, come back. Three of the men refused the third time and were RTU'd, get the point of joining the SAS ? Anyone out there that will pay for my hip replacements ?

@@truthmediarebel5816 if the kids went through what we went through today , they would be going home to mummy after day 1. back in the 60s , 70s we didnt have the pc brigade . we had to turn a boy into a man , and sometimes that was hard . damn you get carded for swearing at them now lol.
@@truthmediarebel5816 look at selection nowadays . they are talking about making it easier because people have died on the fan dance . winter and summer selection is probably the hardest in the world and we have arguably the best special forces in the world . also back in the day , the guards division had a very high success rate for passing selection because training was so hard . the lads where used to it . also till 1975 we had the indipendant paras , based in pirbright d lines . guards training was unbelievably hard .

You want to carry a real rifle, a twelve pound 7.62 SLR, not the latest pop gun. what's the point of carrying more ammo if you have to double tap to put someone down. a hit with a 7.62 will lift a man right off his feet.
@@mikeharris7885 the SLR was a good gun , I got trained on that in the junior leaders and its a real gun . Wish I had one now !

@@kenjones5645 Clear skies from start to finish. The DS's talked about how conditions have never been so good considering it was a winter selection. We were lucky. Mind you the first two days of test week in Elan valley were a nightmare.
