"When I was your age, we had these things called songs. They were two-minute stories about people falling in love or burning down Georgia. But I guess Hollywood decided we needed more criminals yelling about their lady friends'... baby-places." -Hank Hill
This one stays at the TOP of my music playlist. The most smokin hot bluegrass song and accompanying video out there. Thank you Balsam Range for all the excellent songs and superb musicianship!
I stayed in a hotel in Buckhannan, WV where these guys stayed last night after their show. I had never hear of them before but decided to ask one in the morning what group they were. I am sure glad I did. They really are wonderful to listen to.
Im a Mexican American that has been living in northwest georgia for most of his life.I love this land and the Georgia history is my own.I fell in love with this song as soon as it reached my ears."We Never Will Surrender"
Devil's dressed in blue is what the south confederates called the Union Soldiers fighting for the north side during the civil war in all the wars that America has had nothing will compare to how many lives were lost during the civil war it's the only war that America had against herself
Each of these musicians have their own style they have perfected, but Marc Pruett's banjo picking is amazing to me. I watched him play at Merlefest in 2010 and watching him play live is great.
I had the privilege to hear them practice this and otjer dongs in the auditorium at Lake Junaluska NC, for the " Art of music festival!" Awesome group!!!
My String Band that I'm a part of in school, the Scott County String Band, we will be opening up for them in Damascus, VA on June 7th! I can't wait, we also opened up for Blue Highway in May of 2018!
Can't wait till August to see Balsam Range in Marion NC!! Will be the first time for us seeing them in person!! Buddy Melton has such an awesome voice!! Absolutely love this song!!
I have been fortunate enough to see these guys twice so far in 2015. First at the Savannah Music Festival in March and then July 1st in Morganton, NC at the Red White and Bluegrass Festival. It's hard to say which musician is the MOST talented. They all are masters of Bluegrass music and so entertaining.
Such a great song. I recently discovered this song thanks to my google home. Extremely good harmony and that mandolin playing is fantastic. When a group can do a song like this live, you know they really know how to sing bluegrass the way it should be done.
What I love most about balsam range is that they’re from my hometown in nc, I’m friends with two of the members sons. I love bluegrass with such a passion
I don't know why the comments are turn off on some of their songs and covers of songs. I just heard their version of a Dan Seals song and it was great.
+Charlomer Don't remember the recommendation, but both groups are great. Different, but great. I saw (very late) your responses to my earlier comments, but they appear to have vanished. I wished to address them, but I prefer to view them in their full context, and that doesn't seem possible now. (censored?!) Anyways, enjoy the great music, and best of wishes to you and yours.
+B Cooke If you click on the bell on the right-hand corner (next to the blue person) you'll see your comments. Then at the bottom it says previous comments. Click on that & also the G symbol to see all of them. I didn't even remember a couple of them--Not here that much. BTW, reading a great book entitled, "Days of Defiance" by Maury Klein. It goes into great detail on the origins of the CW (WBTS). Best...
Yes, I'm commenting now through the alert "bell" which is how I found your previous reply, but I normally prefer to return to the actual video and post list. Maybe I missed my comments there, but had no trouble finding them in other videos. Problem is, once you leave the alert, it seems to disappear. The older I get, the more tech passes me by, so it may be operator error. Thanks for the book recommendation! Looks very interesting. I remember reading a book years ago devoted solely to the political "games" and official communications among countries in Europe in the months leading up to and during the initial hostilities of WWI and it was one of the more fascinating historical reads I've had, so by the sound of it this would be right up my ally. I just discovered this weekend that my local library has a used book store that sells out of service books for cheaper than most used book stores and I snagged a couple of gems for less than a queer $2 bill, plus I was already behind in my reading, but I will definitely bookmark the link and keep it in my wishlist. Thanks again.
I've said this before and I'll say it again. Bluegrass musicians on a different level.
these are for sure
This is about # 1,382 times watching. So good! Their timing is perfect and what a hell of song! Too bad kids don’t learn about our history anymore
Wow such a great performance. I'm from North Carolina, born and raised there. I will always love bluegrass. So awesome that they sound the same live.
same here

4-SCORE
That's what brought me here. curiosity got the better of me when hank hill mentioned it. I do not regret my search.
Amen brother

You should have taken credit for that Qoute, 42 people would have only known

"Devils dressed in blue" My favorite Blasam Range song. Both music and lyrics are very good.
Devil's dressed in blue is what the south confederates called the Union Soldiers fighting for the north side during the civil war in all the wars that America has had nothing will compare to how many lives were lost during the civil war it's the only war that America had against herself
Then there was the McCoys vs the Hatfields the Hatfields were confederate and the McCoys were the blue coats
Though the burning of Georgia happened 2 times once during the American revolution and the second was during the civil war
I'm a Tennessee girl & this is awesome! Love it...sound so great on that harmony!
I live in tennessee too
If you like harmony, listen to their beautiful rendition called El Dorado.
God's amazing country is the SOUTH...and bluegrass HIS pure music.
Each of these musicians have their own style they have perfected, but Marc Pruett's banjo picking is amazing to me. I watched him play at Merlefest in 2010 and watching him play live is great.
This is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen!

I had the privilege to hear them practice this and otjer dongs in the auditorium at Lake Junaluska NC, for the " Art of music festival!" Awesome group!!!
They were just as awesome during the Art of Music festivals. I attended the 2018 and 2019 ones. I also enjoyed when they played with the Atlanta pops.
Wow. Anything is possible with musicians as good as these. Still bluegrass but also something different. Love it!
One of the best performances of a song ever!
My String Band that I'm a part of in school, the Scott County String Band, we will be opening up for them in Damascus, VA on June 7th! I can't wait, we also opened up for Blue Highway in May of 2018!
How did it go?

Can't wait till August to see Balsam Range in Marion NC!! Will be the first time for us seeing them in person!! Buddy Melton has such an awesome voice!! Absolutely love this song!!

I cannot stop listening to this song!

The best version of this song ever recorded.
That is one great song! That performance was outstanding!
Amazing.. Watch it on the show and then went online and watched it again.
Such a great song. I recently discovered this song thanks to my google home. Extremely good harmony and that mandolin playing is fantastic. When a group can do a song like this live, you know they really know how to sing bluegrass the way it should be done.
They bring it all to a higher level! Love it!
Holy cow! Now that's just amazing! I stand in awe! Best regards / Gus Swedish banjo and guitar player
Woah, was not expecting them to go into EMD at the end there, awesome!!
Brilliant stuff!
Second part of the clip is Grisman's "EMD". Amazing!
Good ear man!
What I love most about balsam range is that they’re from my hometown in nc, I’m friends with two of the members sons. I love bluegrass with such a passion
Wonderful music. But as a Southerner, their Civil War music makes me envision every bit of the War Of Northern Aggression.
Speechless.
Big bluegrass fan here..and never heard this song until now.....wow.....phenomenal
Saw them last Thursday with the Atlanta Pops. Fantastic show.
2014 IBMA Entertainer of the Year! Buddy Melton IBMA Vocalist of the Year!
Finally, we’re getting these guys out here for the Father’s Day weekend Bluegrass Festival in Grass Valley, CA in mid-June. Can’t wait!

That banjo lick with the bass run behind it at 2:17 is one of the sickest things I've ever heard...

I’m a big blue grass fan but I’m angry I’ve only just found these guys. Wouldn’t have known about them if it weren’t for war of rights
This is my personal georgia anthem.
I don't know why the comments are turn off on some of their songs and covers of songs. I just heard their version of a Dan Seals song and it was great.
What great music
They are performing next month about 20 minutes from me and yes, I do already have my ticket!
Damn!! Big Man tearing up that Mandolin !!
Bravo!
Love this
Can anyone tell me how I can share their great music with a friend. Thanks........simply a great talented bluegrass band........
+strawman8 www.balsamrange.com large tour
Awesome!!!!!
Go to their Art of Music festival in their home county in NC. Heywood county
Awesome.
Lawd!These boys get it
We got to hear BR play with John Driskell Hopkins. Unbelievably good music. This song does this Georgia boy, proud. (Sherman was a war criminal.)
Sherman did nothing wrong and his spirit is coming back to raze the neoconfederacy. The only way to leave the union is with a passport or a gravesite.
They can render day and night
"They’re burning Georgia Down
But we never will surrender"
Narrator: They went on to surrender less than a year later.
Get it!
Good music
WOW !
dang Caleb!
🔥🔥🔥
Got damn!
In this key does the title become "F#MD"?
Second to NONE!!!
Burning Georgia down balsam range song music video.
The cream of the crop right there.
Who could possibly give this a thumbs down?
Yankees
🙌
Chet Atkins instrument style....awesome!!
It s even better with the Atlanta pops jamming with them!!!!!!!!! Maybe one step better sitting in on a live practice with both!!!!!!!@@@@
I agree with B Cooke on the 2nd SC String Band--A real fun group! I do love the BR tho & have no prob with their CW songs at all.

Traitors always surrender, US Army keeps the Union UNITED. Should have a giant monument of victory in Savannah.
Unbelievable band is in it funny I've never heard of them
