I stayed in a hotel in Buckhannan, WV where these guys stayed last night after their show. I had never hear of them before but decided to ask one in the morning what group they were. I am sure glad I did. They really are wonderful to listen to.
Each of these musicians have their own style they have perfected, but Marc Pruett's banjo picking is amazing to me. I watched him play at Merlefest in 2010 and watching him play live is great.

Can't wait till August to see Balsam Range in Marion NC!! Will be the first time for us seeing them in person!! Buddy Melton has such an awesome voice!! Absolutely love this song!!

Such a great song. I recently discovered this song thanks to my google home. Extremely good harmony and that mandolin playing is fantastic. When a group can do a song like this live, you know they really know how to sing bluegrass the way it should be done.

Yes, I'm commenting now through the alert "bell" which is how I found your previous reply, but I normally prefer to return to the actual video and post list. Maybe I missed my comments there, but had no trouble finding them in other videos. Problem is, once you leave the alert, it seems to disappear. I remember reading a book years ago devoted solely to the political "games" and official communications among countries in Europe in the months leading up to and during the initial hostilities of WWI and it was one of the more fascinating historical reads I've had, so by the sound of it this would be right up my ally. I just discovered this weekend that my local library has a used book store that sells out of service books for cheaper than most used book stores and I snagged a couple of gems for less than a queer $2 bill, plus I was already behind in my reading, but I will definitely bookmark the link and keep it in my wishlist. Wonderful music. But as a Southerner, their Civil War music makes me envision every bit of the War Of Northern Aggression.
We got to hear BR play with John Driskell Hopkins. Unbelievably good music. This song does this Georgia boy, proud. (Sherman was a war criminal.)
Sherman did nothing wrong and his spirit is coming back to raze the neoconfederacy. The only way to leave the union is with a passport or a gravesite.
