DUDE. I'm not joking. GOD BLESS YOU. You have no idea for how long I've been looking for a solution on this problem... Thanks a lot. You deserve a Statue, a street, an avenue, even a city with your name. Thanks a lot again.
For anyone who might be having issues with this solution: I had this issue and in the end it turned out that it was due to the USB 3.0 Port. I was using an External USB HDD on the USB 3.0 port for installing Win7, so the utility tool didn't recognize it. Using the USB 2.0 Port solve the issue without having to do anything else.
Still helpful 4 years later. Thanks man. Ive seen this a few times over the years, I knew there was a work around for it. So I knew to just hop on and look before burning hours of time and patients lol Definitely sticking that little app in my utilities folder for future incidents.
I love you. Been working on this for hours. A lot of time spent trying to modify the Boot.Wim and Install.wim files using DSIM GUI utility. Wasn't working well and a bit of manual work. However I was watching the Gigbyte utility and noticed that it was doing the same thing on its own! So this is an automated SDIM GUI. Beautiful.
Same here, was trying to do it manually, was a bit hard, when i saw this running, i thought, great, it's doing it automatically, and it worked! Thanks a bunch brother!!!
Same, @EasyTechs I had wasted half a day just to figure out stuff myself, this solved my problem with 30 mins, thank you for helping me downgrading from win10 to win7!
EXCELLENT!! Finally a tutorial that actually solves the issue. Thank you. note: if you do this, be sure to have a copy of the drivers in the laptop´s HD on some partition, since once you finish installing windows 7 your usb will not work until you install the proprer drivers so you wont be able to use an usb device to install the drivers
Thank you so much. My laptop sat for 7 months until i hit on your video. I upgraded to Win 10 and it becomes totally unusable, now I'm back up and running. Thank you so much.
Hi, THANKS SO MUCH for the clear and quick tutorial, I was having trouble loading a USB version of Win 7 Pro 64-bit on a Dell Optiplex 3040 Micro, and this allowed me to install it. For the benefit of those with the same computer, I used the following version of the driver: B16.1102.1 Dated November 2, 2016. (I am a diehard Windows 7 Pro guy and still run Win7P on all my computers, even here in 2023... still the BOSE (Best Operating System Ever) imho...
Another confirmed success. TH-cam is full of useless videos which only waste everyone's time but your video is a rare exception. No time waste and most importantly your information is working. There should be more of these.
I remember came here years ago, and now I come back because I need to reinstall my old laptops, and even I've done it before I forgot all of it, and not like many others that speak useless tips, this tips is working my friend, thank you
"Sometimes its just caused by usb ports" this is true af!! Users with USB3 ports, take a note!! Unplug and plug this usb drive into a usb 2 port(usally black, while usb3 is blue) and boom! It'll work!! No need for so much time wasting. Thanks for your video mate! You are awesome!
Thanks so much!! I’m taking a COMPTIA A+ course and one of the activities is installing Windows 7. Thank you!! This makes it much more easier to understand!!
Am using the Gigabyte tool even now in 2023 - first time ever downloading anything suggested by a guy on youtube. The original Gigabyte link is missing - but I'm using the Google Drive link kindly provided by this guy in the video description. Well done and thanks a lot from Latvia! Massive like for the video.
Just came back to say that appending the Gygabyte tool to my Windows 7 pre-activated installation in a USB stick took about 1h50 mins - but when I tried installing that Win 7 from the USB on a clean laptop (Toshiba Satellite Pro A50-C) - it was well worth it. I couldn't believe my eyes - it finally worked and Windows is installing (previously had tried everything - checked everything in BIOS several times, etc, etc). Also - I got to the point where I installed another Win7 from a DVD - and didn't have the installation problem - but the USB on the laptop wasn't working anyway - even after Win7 had installed - so I couldn't install any drivers, connect SD card, USB, LAN, BT, etc, etc. The only way would have been recording all the respective laptop drivers on a CD - but I didn't want to waste a CD - and instead tried the Gigabyte solution - and once again, it worked. Thanks again.
You don't have to do this if your pc or laptop has a USB 2.0 port, but if you only have USB 3.0 or higher do everything exactly as this guy says. Thanks bro.
OMG Man. I have been dealing with this nightmare install for days. First couldn't get keyboard / mouse to work and had to get a ps/2 keyboard. Then when I can finally click next this crap popped up. Thank you SO much man. I tried everything I could find online and this tower almost went out the window.
For those looking for a solution to the Gigabyte tool failing while trying to install Win7 on a Ryzen machine, this worked for me: Open the location containing the Gigabyte USB tool. Right click on each file and select "Properties", then click "Unblock". You have to open each folder and do EVERY file! Takes about 30 minutes and then the tool works. It took me a month to find this info in a blog post. Hopefully this will save someone what I went through. And by the way, Gigabyte e-support is useless! Their reply to my ticket saying the tool fails ( I included a screenshot showing that), was that the tool works. Pityful! It's just a perfect solution, i downloaded both amd and intel drivers in the usb drive just in case and it just worked perfect. Each installation of the drivers took me 45 mins but it's worth it. Really thank you very much.

Hi Easy Tech - thanks for such an informative and patient video. I too had the issue where I was getting the "cd/DVD driver error." I'm trying to re-install windows 7 on my HP Elite X2. It only has one usb port. Before I had the issue with the CD/DVD drivers missing...this is what I did up to that point in case you see any issues here. I started the whole process by going to microsoft and downloading the Windows 7 Iso file with my product key from my box. That downloaded and then I downloaded the windows USB/DVD download tool. Used that to put the ISO files on my thumb drive. Then I changed the boot menu to only boot from the thumb drive. Still had issues and wasn't booting from the drive, so I saw a video where you enable "LEGACY SUPPORT" in the diagnostics tab, and it now allowed it. That is when I started installing windows until I got to the DVD/CD Driver errors message. I then followed the steps in your video and was excited to reinstall. I got the utility from gigabyte. Followed those steps with my usb drive. Installed the thumb drive back into this laptop. Started to boot again with windows....However rather than getting the screenshot you get, I get an "install windows" error message: "Windows cannot open the required file D:\Sources\install.wim. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code 0x8007000D." Not quite sure what to do now...and I don't have any credible experience with any of this. So any help from here would be great. From anyone. Thanks in advance. (I included everything I did previously only because if for some reason it was wrong.)

Thank you for this, I have the same error with Windows Vista, attempting to install a specified Home Premium version via USB, then given the missing driver message so I tried a different iso, Ultimate, and the same missing driver error again, then I found this video.
