The talk about E-Sports after the red flag is amazing. They say 75% of people who follow events like this were introduced to the world of racing by Videogames. I've actually been a fan of this race since I was a kid in the 90's before I had ever touched a Racing Sim, but absolutely I am playing Forza while watching this. The biggest problem back then (and sometimes to this day) is that in many places it can be impossible to access coverage of major racing events. In my opinion every racing league should have its own website with paid access to a video library of every race. I was so mad when SpeedChannel got bought up by Fox and all of a sudden coverage of LeMans dropped from about 16 hours to 3. I didn't bother trying to watch Endurance Racing on TV after that.
I'm the same. I grew up and still live in Australia and was into motor racing when video games were things like Donkey Kong, PacMan and Space Invaders, but I've always loved endurance racing. And unfortunately in Australia up until the late 80s and early 90s, the motorsport we got was on television really only ever consisted of Formula 1, touring cars, 500cc Grand Prix bikes, and the annual (often on a weeks delay and still shown late at night) showing of the Daytona and Indy 500's. It got better in the late 80s when we started getting NASCAR thanks to having a couple of tracks and our own series here and the early 90s when Australia got a Champ Car race at Surfers Paradise because we started getting that series as well, and then when cable started here in the mid-90s things improved more, but still slowly. But things like the Le Mans, Daytona and Sebring sports car races were something we only ever got to see in 5 minute reports on Sunday morning sports shows or what we read in motor racing magazines. Most of the time, the only footage we ever really saw of anything like IMSA or the WEC in anything other than the odd report on a big race was in crash compilations. The internet and cable have made races like this much more accessible these days than even just 20-30 years ago.
I love the way Joe Bradley says "G'E D" when he means G T D. I know it's part of his northern English accent, but it still gives me a giggle! Hindy, another Northerner, always tries hard to pronounce that T, but he sometimes forgets. Listen to how he pronounces "Bomarito." He really tries, bless 'im! He goes back and forth with "Bomari'o." I truly do give him credit for trying to pronounce a person's name properly. It shows respect for that person, and if any of you have ever tried to compensate for a native accent you might not even realize you have, you'll understand how hard it is. The respect is in the honest effort, not the success. Extraordin'ry stoof!

Does John Hindhaugh have an endorsement deal with Forza? haha
Not sure maybe there is a presence of the game at the tracks but yes it is mentioned often at most races!
He does commentary for their events so that's your connection. Lol.
IMSA has an endorsement deal with Forza last time I checked.
@@vern7424 ooooo.. That's interesting. I'd missed that bit of news. Makes sense now.
zerobandwidth yes, Radio Le Mans (IMSA Radio) have a deal with them. RLM commentate on Forza's eSports series, FRC.
