I'm currently in Sydney. I have been living here for 5 years. 我从来没住过学校住宿，the rent is beyond my budget. (However it is cheaper these days due to Covid) I was wondering how long you will be in Sydney for your study/internship? You can't really meet more new people during lockdown period. Just FYI Aldi is cheaper than Coles and Woolworths. Some items/food in Coles and Woolworths 会有半价，they cycle the the price every Wednesday. These are the things I will buy in Aldi because they are slightly cheaper - breads, jam (imported from Europe too!), cereal, yogurt, cooking oils, household cleaning/laundry items, some vegetables, beans, pasta, fruits and meat. (You may find veggie are cheaper in Asian shop.) If you look for Asian food/grocery (or Chinese food), there are plenty of choices in Hurstville ( approx 30 minute from Central Station, platform 25) Other Asian shop -Wolli Creek, Rhodes, Burwood, Strathfield, Campsie, Eastwood Big Asian hub in Parramatta ( currently in strict lockdown) all these suburbs you may find plenty of Asian food Alternative ways to keep warm in winter without paying electricity bills (ignore this if you can afford higher rent and/included bills) -'Purchase down duvet in IKEA. Yea the dorm looks nice! However, it's also much more expensive than those at HKU :D like HKD8XXX per month GOSH AND yes public transportation is expensive too, so people actually prefer driving their own cars here :)

It’s been 20 years since I left Sydney uni… looks like your accommodation is built in front of my old stomping grounds (institute and merewether buildings). I think that spot used to be a restaurant before, they must have demolished it. By the way, I hate what they have done with the main gate. It used to be beautiful sandstone columns with wrought iron gates. Now it looks like some place in the university of NSW

As you may know, we have a shortage of Pfizer (Biontech), I would suggest you contact the student office because if you are going to do fieldwork, you may get the vaccin sooner.

我在这个栋楼里住了1晚上，然后就因为covid回不来了···我当时的房间是3062。现在房间还是有很大气味吗？电视屏幕还是那个超级低像素么？再给你个技巧，用能复制NFC的手环可以成功复制门卡的，并且可以打开房间门，但是开不了一楼的门。用来去卫生间不带卡回房间还是很方便的。
原來是這樣，我的房間沒有氣味啊，電視屏幕確實是低像素😆 不過我好少用。

我仔仔都係讀緊UTS,住緊宿舍，lockdown緊其實無乜活動，網上上堂都見唔到同學仔，仲要宿舍配套勁好獨立廚房同廁所，基本上係自己房已經生活到，變相亦都同其他人小咗互動，較難識新朋友仔，其實都幾孤獨

建议你可以email accomo service先，问问register日期，真的越早越好(尤其系现在syd房源短缺，在外边的apartment住都要600aud起跳)
