Here’s how I saw Purple’s backstory: Dark blue (father) and Pink (mother) were his parents. His father wanted to teach purple how to be a fighter, but purple didn’t live up to his standards and constantly disappointed him. His mother didn’t like his rough treatment of purple, so the father abandons them both, leaving purple to take care of his mother. She passed away though, and now purple is constantly seeking his father’s approval, trying to reach him and gain his love and respect: the things he was denied of when he was a child. In doing so he sacrifices everyone around him including his friends. The orange king was the next best thing to his father. He thought he could gain his love and respect through being his servant as the king promises to share his power. But of course, the king was just using him like a pawn, and ultimately abandons him as well. Luckily green was there to offer him real acceptance.
Facts
The parkour could be depicted as obstacles on getting the love and approval no matter what it takes
he actually saw king orange as a father and he thought if can't get my father's approval I will get this guy
And for his father's approval he tried getting the dragon egg

You know, even if you didn't get Purple's backstory right, props to you for at least understanding the message of "you don't have to define yourself as 'good' or 'evil'", and also getting that Purple just wanted to be loved. A LOT of people reacting to this one don't get those two things, and they're so important to the story.

Purple’s story depicts this:
Purple’s parents his dad wanted him to fight, and then he left his mom cause his mom didn’t like how his dad wanted to fightmwith him. his mom diedmsgort after, and now hes trying to get stronger to prove his dad wrong. He has to reach his dad’s strength, and he has to go through being the king of the village, getting the dragon egg, and then it was taken away from him. back to square one, all the other stickmen were ahead of him and he trapped them so he could be stronger. he trusted orange to get him to the top, but he betrayed him.

Another thing I got from it is that he was saying he hadn’t cared how used people (the villagers, the dragon, and the other stickmen), regardless of if it hurt them or not, if it meant he would grow stronger and get closer to his father’s level
My take on this is that Purple’s parents didn’t get along and Pink (The mom) took purple’s side so Blue (The dad) left the family. The absence of a dad in purple’s life made him long for a father figure, someone to look up to. He found the King and saw him similar to his father, so he pursued hi and tried to make him proud only to be betrayed again.

Purple's dad was just trying to teach Purple what Stick Figures do, "Fight"
But obviously Purple couldn't do it because he's a child. His dad was disappointed thinking Purple was weak.
He wasn't all bad. He almost punched his wife but he didn't. So he just left on disappointment...
But as time goes by, Purple's mom grown weak, and eventually died
Purple still wanted closure with his dad. Thinking that's what his mom would want.
He tried. But he understands reaching his dad was going to be a challenge, not to mention he's right at the bottom.
So... He did everything to climb to the top.
He concord a village and became a king.
He got the Dragon Egg to impress him, but it didn't work.
He saw King Orange already being at the top where his dad is. So he thought if he works for him, King Orange COULD help him get to his dad.
He beated up the stick gang, grabbed the all powerful block for him, hoping he could finally get to his dad... But was betrayed... And sent back to the bottom.
After all that... He realizes what he did wrong... And knew he was a devil...
To put it simply...
Purple has Daddy Issues...
And he became evil trying to fix it.

I guess all “Animation Vs.” reactors sign a secret contract that they must be incapable of understanding Alan’s backstories and deep messages and also must forget 65% of the story so they’re always missing context and are unable to comprehend what’s going on.

Purple isn't evil, he's more misguided.
Pink and Blue are his parent's, when Purple was growing, his father began to not like Purple and Pink, Purple as kid stood up to his father, making him angry, hitting purple and almost pink, then Blue walked away and left the family, years later, his mother caught a sickness, killing her, only leaving Purple's father left, he basically did everything just to get his father back into his life.

i think what purple is trying to say is he used them to get closer to his father or make him notice but it wasn't enough so he got to orange thinking that if he become powerful maybe his father will notice him and come back but king orange betrayed him so now he lost his mother and his father and at the end he says he is bad for using everyone but green basically said " i do not care whether your good or bad, you're our friend." probably incorrect lol

The way I see purples story is that his father (dark blue) wanted him to be a fighter but purple could not keep up and did not have a heart for fighting.
So after his mothers death he went seeking power to get his fathers attention hence why he became king of that village and left green and blue for the dragon egg.
In his eyes that egg was the ultimate show of power and his best chance at getting his father to notice him.
But after failing he did not give up he went out searching to be at the top which is where he saw the main cast heading on their own adventure.
He would have joined them but king orange was already at the top he already had power so he chose his side but tin the end he was left just like his father.
I think truly purple just needed a hug he had been through a lot and had not felt comfort since his mothers death
