Yes, agreed: Srilanka is in huge debts. The import-Export was bad; but is there any need for organic manure import in Sri lanka?
Are you saying 'organic manure' does not transform into chemicals ( both organic and inorganic chemicals) after they decay..?
Are you saying organic poison (plant based poison) is less lethal to insects and environment ?
Why do you quote Cuba where the human population is consistently maintained ?

Does your research take into account the ever increasing human population, crop yield and inversely decreasing area of agriculture and the agriculture practitioners and coolies ?

The three examples
1) scientists like Elaine ingham in USA and many others have done an excellent job in showing how increasing biology can increase the output of the system.
2) There was al baydha project in re greening the Saudi Arabian mountain range and they successfully created a self sustaining forest that grew food and other economically beneficial trees.
3) Geoff Lawton Jordan project where he made a food producing forest near deadsea and the forest start growing mushroom in dry desert.

Oh one more thing if you have all the nutrients you DONT FEEL NEED TO BE HUNGRY and your body is much stronger in physical capacity and immune system.
Example if you eat Quail vs if you eat chicken. Both are birds but quail is highly dense meat and smaller.
Instead of name calling and saying it is violence when one say "the world should go organic" is rather foolish.
Chemical/poison is POISON. you dont need a scientific lab to test if poison is poison or not.

Did the Sri Lankan government consult Vandana Shiva? Should have asked this question because people are directly blaming her for the crisis.
Every word of Vandana ji is of great value. Unfortunately the perils on this path are aplenty. One for instance is the fact that entrepreneurs are labeling foodstuff picked from ordinary mandis ORGANIC and selling through fancy outlets and malls unscrupulously. Real organic is rarely accessable and cannot be incorporated into a middle class urban family's lifestyle. (Considering how few Navdanya outlets are... with the once a week veggies pattern.)
The fact is we don't have another Vandana Shiva in india...when she speaks ...it has impact n it shakes everything...she should be environment n farm minister of india...India really needs her expertise

I wish Vandana Shiva would take responsibility for her failures. There is a way to integrate organic farming principles, but what Shiva promotes is just spiritual dogmatism. She is dangerous because she values dogma over human life.
These people are the taliban with their environmental ideology. There is only one way of growing crops - organic, just like the way religious fundamentalist espouse their ways.
And she has the gall to whitewash her crimes.

Confused about organic farming.
In Sri Lanka sudden Ban on Chemical fertiliser and import of Chinese oraganic manure and related bacteria created a drastic reduction in farm production , what should be the correct way to introduce organic farming where chemical fertiliser and pesticide is already in use for decades ?

Biodiverse organic farming is the key message. Not simply substituting chemical fertilizer with organic fertilizer!
Regenerative farming is the way to go. Deforestation on the mountains will be something that our future generations will pay for. There will be no water, no food. We don't need resorts in those mountains which give us gangotri.

But she kept repeating the problem statements again and again and could not come on point at all. Stop wasting our time. pls come out with a clear implementable solution first and narrate with data and video of those 10 lakh organic producers farmers to really inspire confidence.
Organic farming simply is not sustainable and profitable for farmers in short run.Our top soil is too dependent on pesticides and petro based fertilizer. Her models is not good for India
