At 2:22 and throughout the rest of the video, notice the ice on the table either disappearing and reappearing, or appearing in different spots. Clearly this is heavily edited
It's an old tradition amongst bar tenders, now used slightly more for fashion, but still serving the purpose of keeping his sleeves from getting wet, or generally getting in the way.
It's a very, very simple drink.....but that little crushed ice bowl is lovely; I'm gonna have to use that myself. Clever use of existing bar tools! Usually a "masterclass" comprises some element of teaching and explanation, but otherwise it's a good video. If anyone digs this stuff, check out any of the "Raising the Bar" videos with Jaime Boudreau. Marvelous!
I do not understand why the comments of the videos of freestylers are full of "wonderful" "amazing" "very good" and instead the videos of these professionals are full of criticism.....that are professionists nor circus jugglers.....
Unfortunately it's a common misconception of bartending, in fact bartending in it's real form is liquid gastronomy but all the circus shit has probably emerged when bars tried to compliment selling cheap drinks made with cheap ingredients to make the experience more worth it for the customer.
I just have an question that ive been wanted to ask for some time now but havent got an answer to it, why does bartenders have that "ring" on the upperside of the arm?
ti will be the same great if you throw the hole mix after shake in a glass with the crushed ice if you strain it and you put extra crushed ice then in the middle of the drink it will become water
Bartender here- can confirm. This isn't practical or time efficient. After seeing this done I'm sure every fareweather, indecisive drinker would want one as well and that just kills your flow.
seriously depends on how vip the customer base is, like if this place has 2 bartenders and serves 10-12 customers per hour(assuming they have like 15 tables) you can easily be over the top on decorating, only difference is that most likely some parts of the decoration are prefixed (not on this video thats an easy , I ve seen way more extreme decs in other videos
most top bars serve very little people. and the kind of bar that is portrayed in the video is one that people go to enjoy watching the making of the drink.
The same people who complain on these videos are the same people who would've bitched that he didn't fill the glass to the top and is trying to rip them off by putting the crushed ice on top.
Man I love the energy, passion, the visual flair and the tricks. The Cinematic Editing style is dope too.
Me: can i have a juice drink with an little extra?
Bartender: *starts the dramatic music*
Customer : How much ice do you have?
Bartender : Yes.
Very nice!
GREAT work and ability :)
Where is Mr.Tolmach ??!
2:40 he blesses the drink.
Hey guys! This is maybe a stupid question, but what is that spiral thing on most of bartenders forearms, and what is it for?
do you mean shirt armbands? The sleaves wont be nasty after a long day.
me encanta la elegancia que empleas en cada movimiento de tu manos amigo, además del orden felicidades..

I think this guy is the best barman in the world!
The way he slapped the top off the shaker was the most gangster thing I have ever seen
Can confirm, it feels pretty gangsta
Imagine how u would walk, with this drink in ur hands, to your seat😂
With the dramatic music I was half expecting some pyrotechnic display to go off behind him

Cocktail-as-modern-art. Very nice. Not to everyone's taste in format or ingredients, certainly, but lovely.
I just have an question that ive been wanted to ask for some time now but havent got an answer to it, why does bartenders have that "ring" on the upperside of the arm?

STRIKERBOY101 wont be at a high volume bar, but the cocktail will go for around $18-20. Plus not all drinks will be like this.
Sometimes I wonder what a hypothetical alien would think while watching humans do this stuff.
Probably "I want one of those drinks"

The decorations in these videos are always so over the top that no bartender would do them in real life,
actually not at all... for example this one is pretty classic and easy to make!

Okay... so... Terminator theme song?

The Music express really different emotions. It doesn't match with the video.
