He is part of the entertainment complex. But he is good in it. At least he is a open thinker and gives some new perspectives. But that dont say that they have a high chance to become true.

This may be so as current situation stands but no-one knows the future. Here in Austrlia, enough shale oil has been recently found to rival Saudi Arabia
.If enough oil is found in allies countries. What then the dependance on the Persian gulf and OPEC?
George is well versed on his geography but IMHO i don't think he knows the full picture nor the future.

he is reffering the domination and influence. Persian empire was dominant in Pre-islamic era. Even Shah also thought Iran should be the one of the super power due to it's geographical benifit which borders many strategic countries and control Hormutz. Now Iran influence is continuosly growing due to fall of Saddam Hussain and Al-Qaida. They both were Iran's biggest enimies.

There is no doubt that the position of US in the next decade will remain largely unchallenged and its supremacy in world affairs unaffected by most of its current problems and even by the emergence of China as economic powerhouse, but US will have to review and reassess the relations with its present allies. That will require complete about-turn on some of their decades old policies. Majority of the countries would prefer US to any other power for leading the global affairs.

His books are good but his book on japan in 1991 predicting a war with US and Japan in 20 years was completely off
