Beautiful rendition of a fine composition. Starlift was a forward thinking band from music point of view. Clean and precise phrasings. Loved this piece of pie by mr. Holman.
A change of management from what I understand, which I personally think resulted in Starlift not making the finals. This is a great arrangment as was "We Just Can't Go on Like This"; when you listen carefully to the original compositions and then compare them to the Panorama arrangements, you can really appreciate what he's done with the songs.
Making the finals, is not, as we all know, not just about the arranger, it's also about the management, and respect and willingness of the players. Ray was, and still is, in my opinion the best man for the job at Starlift. The years after, with the other arrangers, (not to say they weren't qualified), were not productive, how are you going to launch a band for Panorama without someone who knows what their doing? It's a waste of time and money! The years after didn't produce a finals either!
