I loved your reaction! I really liked the song. I agree with the entirety of your reaction. I do think it still fits the YG formula structure but their vocal tones are starting to show their individuality. Looking to see where they go in the future because YG hired approx 30-40 producers allegedly back in the fall of last year so we may or may not hear something new coming up ( not holding my breath ) I like how their b-sides don't fit the YG formula especially "Like That" My only negative opinion was the rap section was a little empty in terms of lyrical content. It felt very filler words/noises in small sections. I don't take it too seriously because it's just Kpop music. I'm not expecting Eminem, or other great rappers who have lyrical deep meaning but just slightly more substance. It's not the idol's fault either because they're just performing it but their flow and cadence is awesome! Other than that song slaps!
Sometimes when they hire allot of new producers may only mean they want more options from in house so label makes most money from inside songs or maybe more new groups coming. But I totally agree also!
The individuality has been on show from the very first introductions that YG dropped for the next movement. All Baby Monster songs have separate sets and showcases each singer. You were just blinded by the nonsense that Baby Monster looks like or sounds like Blackpink. Sorry no they do not look like or sound like Blackpink. Even when Baby Monster covered Bklackpink songs, they owned it.
