Man, Grand Admiral Thrawn has proven to be such a respected individual in the fanbase, both Canon/Legends wise, that Filoni has a rather large responsibility on his shoulders in regards to this adaptation of such a character. Thrawn's death will 100% be something that will make or break Ahsoka as a series 😅
All the other big players killed each other or got killed by the Rebels, and the revived Emperor was still hiding out in Byss. So there was nobody left to contest Thrawn's claim to the throne. Even though he stuck to the title of Grand Admiral, he was the new emperor in all but name during the trilogy of novels named after him.
Heir to empire was the first Star Wars book I read and now have almost all of that canon, never liked what Disney did as there was a lot in the original books for many movies and series. Am definitely enjoying gthe Heir series and hope it will finish and may be more of the same for the other books. Thank you, will now start watching Ashoka.
