I think they are rushing this until the point where the original diverged from the manga. Then they will start moving slower while matching the events in the manga.
Kinda like FMA Brotherhood, they did the same at first but then Ling Yao came in and everything went perfectly from there

@@bennytantoro7191 They're recreating the anime because once the second round of the Shaman fights began, the anime went off the rails with filler and its own version of events instead of following the canon manga, sorta like the original Fullmetal Alchemist anime. This one, it seems like they're trying to give a direct recreation of the manga which is what most fans wanted.

the reboot is being faithful to Anna from the manga...The old anime that created this ""chill personality" of hers.

These "fights" feel like a PDF presentation. They shouldn't have given the IP to a Studio that has only made flops so far. The director for the original series on stated that he wanted Madhouse to adapt Shaman King in the future, that would have been great.
IMO, even for a 50+ anime, there isn't really so no excuse to be using stills this much. 3:10-3:14 was like the only solid bit of animation this fight had.

the animation is amazing, really nice but damn they rush throw everything. I mean it's basically the same as the first show so we know what happens but still, I hope they'll developed in season 2!

Pretty sure most of the japanese voice cast of the original returned. The author said that one of the conditions for a remake was that the voice cast stayed the same

Did this anime not have a budget? The frame rate is so jagged and it looks like the studio could barely handle a seasonal anime let alone a weekly one.

Very disappointed with this remaster... The story is extremely rushed and they are even showing flashbacks from things that have happened in the original but haven't in the remaster (like the flashback with the spirit cave, that did happen in the original anime and here, they just showed some stupid flashback like we wouldn't notice). It's atrociously bad.. the animation is worse than the original Shaman King and the character designs are extremely weird and out of proportion (They made Ren look ridiculously tiny on his horse and Trey's proportions are way off wtf...) It fell from an amazingly promising anime and story, to a Yu-Gi-Oh commercial crap kind of level... My personal recommendation is that you skip these episodes entirely and consider the original Shaman King as the canon and you can pick this one up once it continues after the fight with Hao.

I was kinda mad when they showed the flashback with hao being born right at the beginning and idk how it would b if i never watched the series but im guessing it would b easy for new watchers to figure out yoh is the other twin

The animation is actually better... It just doesn't fit Shaman King to a tee
The animation is nicer, I like the original version, however the rushed script makes this series more entertaining to new audience which is cool.

I had no idea Horohoro is an Ainu. Very interesting since Aboriginal people interests me very much.
I'm sorry, but art and script-wise, the original anime is better. This remake turned out rather disappointing though it got a lot of hype.

The style unfortunately reflects the over all change the art style from the mange that change a loot during its various runs. It’s really a shame.
The art is fine (just reflects the current art-style of the author) but the animation is terrible.
I feel like the manga and the old anime were much more expressive, but idk, maybe i just don't like the voice acting in this version ://

"NEVER satisfied" as if we got shaman king content all the time?... don't get me wrong, the original show is nothing spectacular, if anything an entertaining shonen, but twenty years later after the original release of the series this remake is nothing but a downgrade. Same has been going on with digimon and other old shows I'm less familiar with. Maybe somebody else will like the remakes or become aware of the original via the remake and that's okay, but I know this one is not for me.

I think they will do what Hunter X Hunter 2011 did. Remake the whole anime and continue since the manga just finished last year.

@@Written_in_the_Starss The difference is that the original anime and the manga are kinda completely seperate story later down the road. The new Shaman King will follow events that happened in the manga (most differences between old and new anime also come from following the manga).

Tfw they literally just reused the same animation for Horohoro over and over when launching his attacks, and skipped frames entirely for almost all of Yoh's attacks.
Even powerpoint has more animation than this

Its different, but I wouldnt call it worse. Its up to date on how the creator draws his characters now, but to each their own, Im just a bigger fan of this style even tho the old style is VERY nostalgic and "early 2000's anime"
