Japan is deeply involved in Polish independence. Japan continued to support Poland's independence. The first Polish head of state, Piłsudski, came to Japan around 1904. And he asked Japan to beat Russia and support Polish independence. Japan has promised to help Poland. Japan beat Russia in the Russo-Japanese War. There were about 4,600 Polish POWs in the Matsuyama POW camp. They were forced to be Russian soldiers. Japan treated Polish POWs as friends. Japan was kind to Poles. 4,600 Polish POWs were very pleased with the victory of Japan in the Russo-Japanese War. With this victory, Poles have a chance to resurrect Poland. After that, Japan continued to support Poland's independence. Piustsuki awarded the medal to about 30 Japanese soldiers. Piłsudski taught Japan how to crack cryptography. The soil of Yasukuni Shrine in Japan is placed in the grave of Piustsuki. The colors of the Japanese and Polish flags are the same.
In 1920 and 1922 Japan rescued 765 Polish orphans in Siberia. Poland asked Japan to rescue an orphan. Japan used 73,000 people to rescue 765 Polish orphans. More than 3000 Japanese have died in Siberia.Japan has spent more than $10 million in salvage for orphans. The youngest orphan was a one-year-old girl. Almost all Japanese donated money to save the orphans. Japan loves Poland.

Ignacy Łukasiewicz not only invented the kerosene lamp. He built the world's first oil refinery in 1856, which started use of crude oil on industrial scale. His achievements also include the introduction of the first modern street lamp in Europe (1853), and the construction of the world's first modern oil well (1854).

One of the most impactful Polish inventions is the Czochralski method of producing semiconducting wafers, created by Jan Czochralski. I know, that doesn't sound so impressive until you realize that very high quality silicon wafers are a prerequisite for producing electronics - from mobile phones to computers. It's still used industrially today, in 90% of cases. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jan_Czochralski

Apart from him I recommend to read about Lwów school of mathematics which was exceptional and impacted functional analysis greatly. Apart from Banach who was self learned genius, there are people like Stanisław Ulam who worked on Manhattan project and created Monte Carlo method.
Another famous mathematician which was working with Lwów school of mathematics and Warsaw is Alfred Tarski which is considered by many one of the most important logic specialists in history.

Without such a periscope, the tank commander could only get such a 360-degree overview if he dared to open the hatch and move his upper body out of the tank. Which, of course, was too dangerous in a combat situation.
By the way, the periscope was first used in the Polish TKS tankettes, then in 7TP tanks. Shortly before the war it was given to the British so the British and Americans took it over. The Germans and Soviets then also took over the periscope from captured Polish tanks for all of their tanks.

Definitely Czochralski's invention should be first. His method of production monocrystals wasn't perfect it evolved. But thanks to him not only electronic is so cheap. With his evolved method we are able to produce pure synthetics minerals and synthetic gem stones. But firstly he invented B type steel (bahn steel) and that invention make him rich.

One reason many of these guys aren't widely known is due to various historical factors, they often went abroad to work for companies or governments (in France, Russia, the UK, the US, etc.) and it's only known that those inventions came from those countries. This is also true of the 3 Polish mathematicians who provided key work to break the Germans' Enigma code (during WWII) while Turing and Benchley lab get all the credit because the final work was done in the UK.

Without this we wouldn't have a mobile phone etc. The Czochralski method, also Czochralski technique or Czochralski process, is a method of crystal growth used to obtain single crystals of semiconductors (e.g. silicon, germanium and gallium arsenide).

Łukasiewicz wasn't an inventor of just "kerosene lamp" but of oil industry in the modern sense.
He built the first oil mine (the video is wrong that there had been any of them before him). And he invented refinining of oil (he built the first refinery).
And no, it wasn't by chance "while trying to make vodka of oil" XD (here the video creates myths: Poland really isn't only about vodka...).
Łukasiewicz was an academic chemist. He knew well what can and what cannot be distilled of oil. And he knew that the products of distillation can be the fuel of the future. He only didn't have money enough to start more uses of the invented kerosene than as a lamp fuel.
