@@tanker335 It 100% made a difference. The linebackers all hesitated when they otherwise would not have. Laporta was only free because of that hesitation. Do you think Laporta would be as a wide open without the fake?
Hey, another thing Ben Johnson scripted on this play is to have Jameson Williams run a route that made the corner follow him to clear out that side of the field and having LaPorta sneak through the chaos and run a crosser to the empty side of the field to catch the TD pass. The play is even more brilliant than it looks.
That's the irony of the play design. Ben Johnson was banking on that Corner being the one guy that DIDN'T bite on the fake. This Whole Play Is Ingenious!
Remember when Goff executed his play action pass so well a defender thought he sacked JG16 and started celebrating?? (Titans game?) and then the defender got penalized for the late hit? Jared is a fantastic actor.
It was so funny to watch that Seahawks dude struttin like he just made the big play only to have all the flags hit the ground behind him. I bet Jerod went man that hurt but look at all the lovely flags.
@@BigR365 Big R, no cap. Goff said Ben Johnson came up to him initially early in the week and said...any way you can actually fumble and pick it back up? lololololololol....when you are doin stuff like this to a division opponent, youre basically just saying f you. and i love it.
At the beginning of the play, McVey and Rams fans were all like, "That is why we got rid of his ass", and then when he threw the TD, they were like "Well, what ever, we still got our ring a few years ago...."
Lions fan here. Your breakdown is entertaining and I f*cking love seeing these diabolical and creative plays. Ben Johnson telling other OCs you betta up your game!! hahaha
Great play call he told them.to.ssy fumble fumble fumble at the same time Goff stumbles like it's real.fumble this cause mental reaction on the defense which in turn cause confusion and made the defenders pause and created separation for a td. Great call
I have seen so many people saying this was a waste of a trick play, but knowing Ben Johnson and his calculated tomfoolery this reads to me as some brilliantly demented game theory at play considering how late in the season we are with all eyes on the Lions and their shenanigans and the monumental distrust/split second uncertainty regarding perceived errors this sews going forward. I love it!
He has so many tricks, how can a team plan for all of them? In all honesty, as a defense, if you think the quarterback fumbles the snap, are you going to go after it now, or are you going to stay back in coverage? I feel like many of the trick plays that they draw up work so well, because if the opponent did plan to defend them, it would leave something else wide open, or protect against other possible issues.
Reading the Detroit media, the original design was for Goff to actually put the ball on the grass but he felt that was a bridge too far so they worked it out like this.
I actually didnt fall for it, i was like why is Gibbs falling for no reason? 😂 but i didnt expect it to work, pretty cool and funny they tricked the announcers too. Good to see them have some fun, after all their injuries and they had a game with no injuries! It's about time 💙
The guys on the field have a lot of blocked vision and can't see everything that is going on behind the line. They see Goffs body drop down like he lost the ball and is trying to pick it up. Then they see Gibbs dive on the ground like he's trying to get it. They don't see the ball, but they can't see much that is happening on the ground, so instincts are going to draw them in. Before they realize what is going on, it's too late.
Ben Johnson said he thought of this play when he saw Jordan love quarterback of the Packers stumble fumble the ball pick it up and throw a touchdown pass
The Lions may not win the Super Bowl, their team has been decimated by injuries But they are without a doubt The most fun team to watch in the league, If you include all these great play calls and crazy Campbell going for it all the time!!
Defensive players are attack dogs, and a loose ball or fallen QB are like raw meat. But a play like this has to suck the aggression out of them for the rest of the game. Everybody should be doing this, but only one team seems to have the guts for it.
Brian Hoyer had a play , fake fumble, while at MSU. Someone needs to interview him about that play. Brian was taking an acting class at MSU you at the time? Mark Dantonio was the coach.
Detroit better save some of these trick plays for the playoffs!!! They have never been in the Super Bowl, and average 1 playoff win/lose every 5 years. They will need every trick play, luck, and prayer just to get to the Super Bowl, then double that to win! I am praying," Another one Bites the Dust"
This play is completely diabolical and I love it
Watch the Bears instead of him. They didn't even notice it. It made no difference at all.
@@tanker335 You're wrong, but ok bruh 😂
if the D hesitates even one step it makes a big difference.

I think this idea came from when Goff stumbled on 4th Down last week.
No doubt
Two weeks ago
Actually it was inspired a play from Packers vs Bears earlier this season
It certainly fits. Wow!!!
Absolutely
The Stumblerooooooski
That was single handedly the most evil play ive seen...and i love it
Best trick play in NFL history
Seriously. How cool was that. What a genius idea.
The most bad ass thing Ive ever seen on a football field. LFG Lions!!!
Remember when Goff executed his play action pass so well a defender thought he sacked JG16 and started celebrating?? (Titans game?) and then the defender got penalized for the late hit? Jared is a fantastic actor.
It was against the Seahawks. It was pretty funny.
Jarod Deniro !
@ thanks I couldn’t remember but it was hilarious with the celebration and everything!
It was so funny to watch that Seahawks dude struttin like he just made the big play only to have all the flags hit the ground behind him. I bet Jerod went man that hurt but look at all the lovely flags.
Never saw this in my life😂😂
Shit it ain’t cheating either it’s just fuckin smart I tell yah lmao
I love this shit they keep playing like this they gonna win the superbowl
Welcome to Detroit
That was the dopest shit i ever seen ...love my team
It’s too bad they wasted it against the Bears. Keep some shit in the pocket for the playoffs Ben!
Lions come out first half like “yeah we can put up 70”
Ben & AG stay because this team & group is special - tape don’t lie!
I love how excited you get, you love the game. Hope you get your scouting job!
I hope so too! Thanks bro 👊🏾🏈

Doh - that fooled everybody. What a creative, insane idea.....lol.
When i saw this live, I thought "cant wait to see BigRs reaction to this".
As soon as I saw it, I said it was on purpose. These boys are having fun, and Ben Johnson is going to be a rich man next year.
I love that even the Lions on the sideline aren't reacting.
Goff a comedian 😂😂😂 everyone type in goff trick plays

Let’s go 👊🏾🏈
Give Goff and Gibbs academy award for best acting on a football field🤩🤩🤩🤩
Great play call he told them.to.ssy fumble fumble fumble at the same time Goff stumbles like it's real.fumble this cause mental reaction on the defense which in turn cause confusion and made the defenders pause and created separation for a td. Great call
I'm picturing Ben looking at tapes of Goff stumbling against Green Bay and suddenly thinks, "Hey, wait a minute!"
Nah ben Johnson is disrespectful at this point 😂
You have been my favorite football TH-camr discovery this year, bro. I have learned *so much* watching your vids!
Best Supporting Actor for the o-line

Just brilliant!!!!!
Lions over here pulling a madden glitch into a confused defensive AI.
"The old Stumblebum" -Jared Goff
Lions have the largest positive point difference in the League for a reason.
I know this was going to be a video before LaPorta caught it.
Thanks for highlighting this one Big R! An added perk!
I couldn't wait for you to see this.🎉
So much fun to watch this team. 😊
This was just awesome!!
The fans are calling this play the Stumblerooski
Winning hearts and minds one diabolical play at a time.
I wrote the Lions off last week. But, they looked strong today. On the road.
I know. They Always play Amazing on the Road!

Keep doubting us 😊
I'm very impressed with these trick plays the Lions are running. Very sneaky and clever! Nobody knows what they're going to do.
lions play mind games
not to mention the perfect over-the-shoulder pass from Goff
They called it the stumble bum play, genius 😂👍💪😎
Ben, the two of us never part!!!
Don’t leave us. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Go 🦁 Lions!
Incredible! Our team pulled off the most creative, deceptive and fun play that I’ve ever seen. I screamed, on the replay!
Tape don't lie!❤ I called it...😂😂😂
This was a crazy play
Gibbs is the best flopper since Chris Bosh! LOVE IT!
The running back really sells the play too. Well done.
It was actually the Lions sideline yelling “fumble”
That was evil and amazing all at once.
"Call an ambulance, call an ambulance! But not for me." ahh play
Gibbs is what really sold it, looking like he was diving for the fumbled ball!
the Stumblerooski!
Next level.
#onepride
You can’t defend that I’ve never seen that happen
Lol!!! Your the first person I thought about 😅
Johnson was paying attention when shitcago had the ball, guessing that's the job he'd take if offered 😢😢
OMG! I Just realized what this play is designed from.
The Fumblerooski!
I guess in that situation you have your spy or olb break coverage and blitz
Defensive players are attack dogs, and a loose ball or fallen QB are like raw meat. But a play like this has to suck the aggression out of them for the rest of the game. Everybody should be doing this, but only one team seems to have the guts for it.
Every Sunday a tightend dissappears at the line only to be seen with a catch down field.
Lions doing things never done before..... like next season they're gonna try a co-head coach approach, MCDC and BJ together forever 😂
Brian Hoyer had a play , fake fumble, while at MSU. Someone needs to interview him about that play. Brian was taking an acting class at MSU you at the time? Mark Dantonio was the coach.
That’s the defensive line calling fumble. Goff did a reaction where he is laughing about it.
Gibbs looked like the flying 🐿️ meme
Didn't forget to mention Gibbs stumble roll and block as well
I don't think they need to do this kind of thing against the bears
I wanna see Goff and Gibbs win an Oscar at the espy
Tape don't lie. But what's the symbol you draw on the white board for fake fumble?
A big set of nuts!
This is some Moneyball stuff going on here. Brad is changing the game.
Tape don't lie, even the commentators were completely fooled.
Diabolical!
Should have saved that for a critical play in the playoffs.
TAPE DON'T LIE!!😅😅😅
and what's wilder is now if the Lions ACTUALLY fumble the defence gotta think for a second lmao
That throw doe!
Great play it delayed the defense
They should when in California to but they need to be prepared for san Francisco they still.are threat
@@Terrill-l1bYou got that..
The old stumble-rooksi
Why use up this play on the Bears in December though?

mad bears fan huh?
LFG LIONS!!!!
Ben Johnston will be the Bears coach next season 😕
CW 334 yards and 2 TDs and Goff 336 with 3 TD's both zero ints. Jayden 258 with 2ints. CW haters go away. Cw here to stay. New coach will bring it
All they do is do wild shit 🤣 they have RT/LT running jet sweeps and flea flickers
Tape Don't Lie, even if it was the best acting of the season.
It's the Bears, they can't defend real fumbles.
Go Lions! 🦁 😃
Congrats to the lions, they have been losers since the 1950`s. Also they don't call the qtrback goof anymore, but the coach is.
Genius
I love it!! And I hate the Bears so freakin' much... love how they got schooled big time!! Ha ha ha!!!
Bumble stumble
4D chess right there
WHAT ABOUT AIDAN SCRAMBLING TO HIS LEFT AFTER AVOIDING THE SACK TO CONVERT ON THIRD AND LONG TO AMEER!!! AIDAN CAN SCRAMBLE!!!
Lions and Bears are worlds apart, and everyone knows it.
Lions: fake fumbles
Bears: real fumbles... 3 times
