    You take great pride grooming your dogs. You give the dog a certain look that suit the type of dog it is. One groomer shaved everything off. Understand the body but not the face bald and whiskers to boot. Doing a lovely job. Which I could find someone like you as groomer.

    Because of the Covid-19 shutdown, our groomers in Ohio and Pennsylvania are all closed. Your tool recommedations, plus scissors, cost me $420. But, one year of grooming for our three dogs is well over $400. Plus, I believe this lockdown could be a way of life for two years. On behalf of Bela, Phoebe and Cody THANK YOU.

    I have everything to groom my morkie and shih tzu at home, but I have not been brave enough to try it. This video was so helpful this weekend I will definitely give it a try.

    Thanks! This looks like my Morkie. More of a cotton coat than Yorkie hair.

    Artero has a dual-sided de-matting slicker that I LOVE! It's my go-to slicker.
    As always, I love your videos.❤

    How do you handle a dog who can't stop moving? I swear it seems like my pup has ADHD lol
    He won't let me cut his paws or face hair.

    What is the difference between “chunkers” and thinning sheers?

    • @LoveofGrooming
      @LoveofGrooming  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, chunkers have more wider spaces between the teeth and a bigger v in the tooth. They take out more coat.

    Hi. I love watching your videos. Can you tell me please? When you groom a dog do you bath him before you cut him or do you bath him after you cut him?

    Beautiful. I’m Trying To Grow My Morkie’s Hair That Long By The Ears. Any Advice?

    • @LoveofGrooming
      @LoveofGrooming  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, sorry for the late reply. To grow hair you will have to brush and comb thoroughly at least every 2nd day or daily is best. Bath and blow dry every 2 to 4 weeks.

    What about dogs with double coats do you recommend the shave down close? Baby looks cute

    • @LoveofGrooming
      @LoveofGrooming  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't recommend shaving double coated breeds as the coat regulates their body temperature. It keeps then cool in the summer and warm in the winter but the coat must stay in good condition. A deshed helps and regular brushing out the undercoat.

    do you have any tips or tricks for trimming the lips/ under the nose? a lot of the dogs I groom are very fussy about it. or is it pretty much a patience thing.

    I heard summer shaves are not advisable for some breeds. I have a bearded collie, is this needed for him?

    • @elsiee1076
      @elsiee1076 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a double coated breed u don't want shave it, it can damage their coat, you can have their furnishings trimmed tight.

    • @LoveofGrooming
      @LoveofGrooming  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Certain breeds should never to shaved such as double coated breeds like the Golden Retriever, Pomeranian, Husky, German Shepherd, Shib Inu, Chow etc. However in my own opinion the Bearded Collie coat can be shaved. The coat is a double coat but different from the breeds I mentioned. Their coat is more like a Shih Tzu and they are getting shaved every day with no damage to their coat. It's very hard to keep up with a long coat on a Bearded Collie. When I used to groom them, they were all kept short but not necessarily shaved to the skin unless matted or the owner wanted then shaved.

    why do dogs always seem to pant really hard during grooming?

    • @LoveofGrooming
      @LoveofGrooming  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are away from their environment and probably stressed but the majority of them do this at home also.
