In Carnatic music, a kriti is above all and exclusively the vehicle a vahana for the musician's bhakthi towards the Divine..... hence that is a prime criterion we look for by inference in a Carnatic music performer..unlike other classical music genres...wearing symbols of great meaning of another religious persuasion while performing a Carnatic music piece would imply lack of understanding of and trivialising perhaps both religions and does not do service to either and most of all to bhakthi itself .....which is the main purpose of this music.. in my humble understanding as given to me by my bhakthi towards Carnatic music...
