In my opinion, Nike's Tech Craft series has been pretty hit or miss. Some have been amazing, while some have been sub-par. In the case of their 2020 Tech Craft Pack, the Mercurials are amazing, so I had high hopes for the kangaroo leather version of the Phantom GT. Unfortunately, while I think Nike made a good effort overall, they're not great.
In today's video we take a closer look at the new Tech Craft Nike Phantom GT Elite. a boot that subs out the "Generative Texture" of the normal GT, for a thin layer of Kangaroo leather, among a few other changes. What's good and what's bad? I go over everything you need to know and how they compare to the regular version. What do you think of the Tech Craft Phantom GT?

I had to get these, i got my Son the Mercurial Vapor XIII Tech Craft so i got these but i put um away box fresh. When he gets older i will drop them on him he loves a K-leather. The Mercurial Tech Craft Pack was 🔥
Looking at some of the 20/21 kits and these new boots it seems as though Nike is trying to go for a more retro look this year
the tech craft boots in my opinion come in handy because I have wide feet and I dont feel comfortable in certain boots that I find really cool and the tech craft kangaroo leather really helps :)

i have these and the new mercurials. With this boot you have more agility and a softer and better touch. With these boots it is harder to shoot finesse shots but that may just be me being used to using mercurials.

I know it’s not common for the Tiempo line, but if they made a difference for the tech craft line instead of just another colorway, it’d make things more interesting. I.e. a fly knit based or something like that

The boot looks great other than the outer foot Nike check and the word Phantom in white while also that whole outer side being in a different material. It just looks out of place.

Great boots, but those two definitely aren't a great comparison in my opinion.
I’m still on my phantom venoms in the neighborhood pack and love them.. do you recommend upgrading ?.. which one feels more snug and less roomy
The Venom definitely has a tighter overall fit. The Phantom GT isn't so much an upgrade over the Venom, just something more Mercurial-ish. At least when you're talking about the regular version.
They aren't really better, just different. Only worth it if you want something more along the line of the mercs
If I were you I'd wear the venoms until they break

I understand this is a first impressions video, but calling the leather “stiffer” than the flyknit standard upper, is, well, expected because it’s leather. All boot reviews should have unboxing + after BREAK IN (emphasis on leather). Just my .02
So these are true to size, while the GT are 1/4 size larger. Does that mean the upper will effect sizing? Tighter upper will make the sizing slightly smaller?
The upper doesn't expand or stretch quite like the regular model. They definitely fit tighter.
