The last books had some flaws but in the end, they really captured the sheer size of the Siege and all the important moments, Echoes of Eternities and the End and the Death Part 1 were my favorites.
I was rereading the original 3 HH books at same time as echoes and I loved the contrast. At the start it is a pretty conventional soldiers war and by echoes it’s just utter insanity and depravity and chaos ADB is always on point but he really excelled at capturing the scale and size and madness of the final battle. Whilst there were some decent moments in first end and the death and it was better the terrible final 2 novels I don’t think he managed to same degree. I don’t think that is Abnetts strength
@@wephilips6651 ADB is by far my favourite writer out of the entire series. His ability to construct these battlefields and make them look completely insane and terrifying keeps you glued to the pages.
