- The Raw edits are many, mostly in her applying for the position, i thought i would leave this as is, i did try to clean it up the best i could with the youtube studio tools, i think its acceptable and still at a 60fps if you like it that way. Still some good material to check out if your a fan of the movie. Hope you like ! become a patron and support the channel ! www.patreon.com... for watching !!
That moment when she says to the girl at Starbucks "a million girls would kill for it" the voice tone sounds almost insane, like she is finally loosing her mind and just turning mad
The girl at Starbucks…. Is Meryl Streep’s daughter 😂
Mamie Gummer
Apparently that was meryl street's daughter making the coffee...
The deeper irony is how many girls would kill to have Anne Hathaway's job.
“Thank you”. Two words. One expression. Would’ve moved the entire movie.
I'm happy they did not include it. It makes Miranda look way different and it's somewhat unrealistic scenario. If it was just a little smile, then fine, but "thank you" is too much.
I had never seen these, until now, and they were great scenes! This movie is so iconic! Especially for me, as it is basically a korror image of my life in the 90-s in NYC. It really catches the mood and feeling of, well, EVERYTHING about being a girl in her 20's, working her first job! Especially with a trip to Paris thrown in as a bonus!
No. It was part of Andrea’s job.
@@skontheroadare you a REAL girl or one of those tr@ns things?
@@grace_from_dogville in the dvd commentary the director says this is why he didn’t include it. It’s too much of a departure from what we had seen thus far.
I love how they took out the scene with her overthinking the cerulean sweater. It makes Miranda’s speech sting more than it would have. 🙌🏽
See, I would’ve liked it for context. Miranda calls Andy out for, “taking herself too seriously” to care about fashion. To me this scene shows that Andy didn’t like the way she looked in her clothes and when she got her makeover moment it wasn’t Miranda or the pressure of working at Runway that made her change, it was her desire deep down to. It would’ve been a great character development moment.
These deleted scenes are so refreshing to see how certain parts actually lead up to the actual movie scene
I agree refreshing
These deleted scenes reveal what makes the movie work so great: that extreme fast paced opening, all fat trimmed. The roller-coaster ride would have been slowed with each of these scenes so each deletion adds to the final product.
Great observation. 🔥
They removed so many scenes and they were all great
i thought the elevator scene was pretty funny, i still laugh at that one. thanks for watching !
Good scenes. Bad acting from the extras.
"Emily? Emily? Come here. Emily, watch my head spin."
I would love a gag reel of Meryl Streep doing that infront of Emily Blunt!!!
Omg. I have said that before “feel like calling in fat today”.🤣Relate!
I would have kept in two moments: The "Emily, watch my head spin" cuz that cracked me up; and the part where Miranda mouthed "thank you" at the party... just cuz it softened her a teensy bit, and I think the movie got that right at the part where she tells Andi about the divorce, but that moment would have just added a little something.
I don't think the Miranda mouthing Thank you scene would have fit in that moment. It was too personal and too vulnerable for Miranda who had eyes on her especially after the spectacle Stephen had made. For Miranda Priestly to say/mouth thank you to her second assistant would have been out of character and a weakness to exploit.
It was also a very sensual/sexual energy Thank you
They could have added in a gesture on Miranda's part a delivery or a text message to Andy thanking her in a Miranda way.
@@n.jboltz599 I agree. It wouldnt be in Miranda's character to say thank you. In her point of view, it would have been a weakness. Maybe she would have done something like at the end of the movie, where, in a Miranda's Priestley way, she told the editor of the magazine that he would be an idiot if he didnt hire Andy.
The 'head spin' part is a reference to 'The Exorcist' I.E. demonic possession by the Devil hence the name of the movie 'The Devil Wears Prada.'
@@retroguy9494 I got that 😊 That’s why I cracked up
@@Stardust_7273 Me too! 😂
But I'm willing to bet it would have gone over 80% of peoples heads. Perhaps that's why they decided not to include that scene!
I say the editors really did a good job. These deleted scenes, while great, would look out of place if they were included.
The barista is Mamie Gummer, right? Even Meryl’s daughter wasn’t safe from the cutting room floor 😂
I love her in The Good Wife.
@@rachels.8051 same, the Nancy v Caitlin ep is one of my favourites
@@rachels.8051yes! She was terrific in The Good Wife.
Yep
Agree with you but at least she was hired !
This is the best Meryl Steep has ever looked! She should keep this hairstyle as her everyday look.
It was a wig 😊
I Love that hairstyle. Been trying to get stylists to replicate it for decades😊
Nope, it would be like looking at Miranda Prestley and not Meryl Streep anymore.
Is the barista girl at 9:43 Merryl Streep’s daughter in real life? The one who played the titular Emily Owens, MD?
Her French is so natural-like and impressive, and the part about the hotel suite was to sweet of Miranda. I just loved seeing that look on Andy's face
Lool, you call it natural 🤣
Maybe since the movie was such a hit they’ll re-add the deleted scenes and showcase the original movie all over again; I would watch it on Netflix or Prime or MAX …. It would be a nice long movie and refreshing!!❤
timestamp?
@@simplyeason timestamp what?
@@rogueryder3285 timestamp of when she spoke french
Her bf was the biggest asshole in the story, her friends were not much better.
The book was even worse with how horrible they were to her.. the second one is even worse than that lol
@OmniscientPhenyxPhyre I read it on an airplane, but I remember naught about it. The movie replaced the book in my head
This movie is my absolute guilty pleasure! I adored it so much. I'm very career driven and I enjoyed a coming of age through work theme. Merrill looked FABULOUS! The clothes were divine. The glamour and excitement of the city was thrilling. I like to fancy myself something between Andy and Miranda. I absolutely loved everything about it. I would have enjoyed seeing all the cut scenes added and then some!
Why guilty? It's not a bad film at all
How the Thank You was cut, I'll never know
They should re-release the movie with all the deleted scenes
Maybe at the Castro in SF for those of us who would be happy to sit through an extra 15 minutes (or more?) of this movie!
12:52 just look at Emily Blunt's expression, she doesn't act she portrays, it's proof how good Actor She is ❤
Glad they removed the thank you scene, would have totally spoiled the character of Miranda.
They should have kept the drunk husband at the party scene. It would have made the divorce decision different. It's sold in the movie that he divorced her because of her job when she was probably also tired of his alcoholism.
I agree totally, EXCEPT… it made Amanda too indebted / humanized to Andie with the whole mouthed “thank you”. Totally uncharacteristic.
“Good morning!” (All bright and chirpy) then the reply: “NO”
That was a great scene - should not have been cut
Donna!!
I know that not every scene makes it to the movie, obviously, but these scenes explain so much about scenes that did make it.
Aslaug in the elevator calling in fat.
Hahaha...I knew, I knew her from somewhere!!
Such a gorgeous face!
Wait you can call in fat from work? Does it work for school too?
Also the girl who said that looks so familiar but I can't remember where she's from
Aslaug from Vikings 🌝
@@RandineGH oooooh, yes I remember now
@@zvezdoblyat
I laughed so hard, when I realized where I knew her from...
wow some stellar actors missed a spot in this film with the cuts!
Oh my god seeing the dvd features brought had so many memories.
Miranda does not say thank you … she may thank you with a smile or a look - not in her character to say it so visibly so edit was understandable. The head spinning comment could have been fun to keep.
Andy's boyfriend was a drip.
Agreed a friend of mine plays tennis with him.
Wasn’t he supposed to be a drop ?
So cute Anne tripped.
@@SicilianStealth🙄 she’s talking about the movie character!
@@Person-mh6xq tell me something I already don't know I was already aware of that that wasn't my point. Not the best personal vibrator in the nightstand drawer are you?
Why are these only certain sections of some of the deleted scenes. Sarah Rafferty's scene was much longer and hilarious. Why bother.
Those can be found on the deleted scenes from the deleted scenes reel. 😂
Leaving all of these scenes out was a brilliant move.
Reading too much into the elevator scene, but this a sign of respect from Miranda because they are literally "standing shoulder to shoulder" which also is like being on the same level of respect.
i never get bored with Meryl
I still love the line in the elevator. That one cracks me up :)
That “thank you” was completely out of character. She would never have said that.
Idk in that specific situation I think she would have
No. It was part of her job.
absolutely agree. Miranda would not have said that. She would have considered it as Andy's job and would not even looked back.
@@kovilil well scoming from a person who read both the book and watched the movie, I’ll say we can agree to disagree.
@@OmniscientPhenyxPhyre please do :) I only said my opinion obviously
'Looks like Oklahoma and New Jersey had a baby out of wedlock!' 😂😂🤣🤣
For anyone who's known a typical gay man or have ever been to a gay bar, that was SO spot on! 😛
Why? Please inform us non Urbans!
Followed by “No ! Not you!”
😂it's true because I dont dress up.im just a regular person
@@vannieloumarshall7232 Well, basically they are known for catty and insulting behavior. Like a 13 year old middle school girl would behave. It most likely comes from insecurity about themselves.
@@seanabadalich9112 Or an 'EWWWWWWWWWW' 😂
Love Emily! Fave character. She should have been in charge of the paper.
A lot of this stuff was in the books, but definitely not needed in the film
The girl at the bar who served her de latte she only had one line and she did it so perfectly and she was so graceful and trustworthy. I feel bad for her for being cut out, left at the editors 10:06
Don’t, that’s Meryl Streep’s daughter.
@@blueshoes915then i am proud i have Guessed She was a great actress fron that line 🥳
The barista at starbucks is actually Meryl Streep’s real life daughter
the best part is Donna from suits apparently started in fashion, and Aslug never died and apprently is immortal .😂😂
Meryl at the ball❤❤❤ so beautiful
Thank God none of these scenes were in the movie.
10:05 Meryl Streep's daughter is seriously so pretty!!
Editor's are wizzards!
The HP manuscript last shot fail scene moved up when Andy brings her head up and starts giving. So powerful. So simple. And yet so underrated. This really actually works. For what follows is getting back. As a bus passes by. As we all know. LOVE to you all.
"I almost called in fat" 😂
I like two scenes that would have added to my enjoyment of the movie. The scene in the coffee shop asking for HOT coffee and the scene where she distracts from Miranda's drunk husband.
Gisele running in 7:35 i kennot.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Is the Barista one of Meryl’s daughters?? 👀
They should publish the whole movie with the scenes
I would have kept the scene with Meryl Streep’s daughter in it!
Awwwwwwwwww in the 10:00 is Meryl Streep's daughter❤
I’m glad they deleted these. Obviously just filler scenes that would have wasted time leading to the obvious explanation anyway. How the film was released is just perfect. People today get bored easily and movies need to be quick and get to the point.
My favorite scene was in Paris when Andrea and Priestly were in the car after the banquet and the devil informed Andrea she knew all along. The music was perfect and the city scenes outside the car was very Parisian.
Ohhhh, Mamie Gummer, as in Meryl's daughter, had a cameo as starbucks barista????
So they cut the barista scene with Meryl's daughter??
I didn't realise Donna Parson was in the movie...
So I always had one question: did the fashion department keep giving her branded clothes to wear every day? Or she ended up buying the rest of her outfits after that first one? If the latter, how did she afford it??
They probably gave her overruns of the designer items. Or whatever they had duplicates of in the Vogue archive.
@@MindfulTatianaif they could find the ever-elusive 'huge' size 6, that is. 😅
What a waste of space all these people are
I watched the movie and loved how the assistant got good at her job. Then- all of her apprenticeship was for nothing. It’s nicely entertaining if you discard the whole purpose of the movie.
I’m glad the cerulean sweater got more exposures 😂
9:40 that is one of Meryl's Streep daughters
Who else noticed at 9:43 in the coffee shop, the server is one of Meryl Streep’s daughters ❤
Part two is in order❤🎉🍿🎥 ✨⭐ 😊 🎶🎵
"you look awesome" is such a fake sounding line no one says that
I could spend the next 3 years just learning foreign languages and musical instruments.
вставить вырезанные сцены в основной фильм. получилось бы интересно
Awesome movie would've been better if she had quit both the job and that whiny unsupportive boyfriend.
Also, having been an extra in movies, I feel really bad for those minimum wage extras who are in scenes that got cut out.
I was in a movie "Flipped", where Rebecca DeMornay actually touched my shoulder and asked if she could be let through to see a child's science project. When we went to the movies to see it, that whole scene had been cut out and I was like damn, that's the only evidence I was in this movie.
My husband and I love this movie so much and have watched it so many times.
5:07 is she Donna from Suits?❤❤😊😊😍😍😍
I miss that NYC skyline 2:53. Now it’s hard to pick out the Chrysler building.
That's why the auto universe didnt make much sense in the movie
I got MA Von and Melissa in the same scene...holy shyte....what has happened to my life. The darkness has definitely been illuminated and I find myself living just off Sunrise Hwy.
Donna it's that You?!
I would have loved to have seen the movie with the deleted scenes added in. I still love the movie though.
Yes. I did. Thank you 😂😂😂
The Film Editor is a genius. None of those scenes are needed to make that move stuck in our brains for almost 20 years now. That "thank you" scene would be unrealistic for Miranda. That's not her nature to be grateful of her underlings who were supposed "to read her mind" as part of the job.
2 blondes in there
Why would so many scene that were costly to shoot but ended up being deleted have been shot in the first place? I thought they would have gone over the shooting script with a fine tooth comb in an attempt to avoid wasting money shooting scenes that were not needed. But I admit I know zip about the3 art of movie making. Cheers It was interesting to see the deleted scenes.
She reminds me of my sister. The same face, same laugh, same smile... Just as beautiful!
Now I see why irv wanted to get rid of Miranda it was her husband. Miranda had to choose between her job and her husband because her boss and her husband didn’t get along.
Bagel w/Philadelphia & Sjam...👍🥯🥐🧇
Should've kept these in, they're cute scenes
That bartender cameo is genius 🤣
They should have included these shots
DONNA PAULSEN WAS IN THE MOVIE????
1:05 Isn't this Aslaug from Vikings? Ragnar's wife?
Hilarious the bartender at Starbucks happens to be Meryl Streep's daughter in real life. I love the humor and am sure Anne Meryl and Mamie thought it fun as well too bad it was cut !!! ❤
Sorry but no one is that important that everyone has to walk on eggshells.
Keep them and cut all boyfriend scenes 😄👌
I would apologize but I've been informed years ago by Betty Ann Caranfa that my apologies are worthless. So, what's up? I'm here. Let's go ahead and do whatever it is I'm supposed to be doing. What is my job, directive....etc....is there something I'm supposed to be doing to save the universe?
walks into a fashion magazine, looks like a hobo. gurl bye
If only Rachel McAdams hadn’t declined this role
Miranda saying thank you?! Actually being kind?! Glad they cut that out - wouldn’t have been in keeping with the rest of the movie.
Although I LOVE ❤️ the movie 🎬 I've watched so many times, and I could watch it over and over again... these scenes are sooo slow, boring and not interesting; no wonder they were deleted...
Mario is Prada, right?
I did a double take because the barista looked like a young Meryl. It’s her daughter 😂. What a beautiful family of women!
In the book the boyfriend was a drip too. Didn’t he work at a leper colony or something equally righteous?
9:42 THAT is Meryl Streep's daughter
