Just found a picture of a 19th century slate clock, and I believe the embossed brass is part of the clock. The picture I saw depicted similar Roman people on three separate rectangular pieces of brass. The slate top looks like the slate you found that resembles a little roof. Fantastic bike, ALFRED THE GREAT 👍🏻
When they found the embossed metal plate I wondered if it could be part of the clock. After seeing your comment I googled it and I think you're right.
they should go back and see if they can find the rest of the clock
‘Rocky’ because it’s a heavyweight champion.😂
Perfect!
Yes!
"Rocky" works well - because of the rocky off-road paths you're going to traverse.
I love how Alex always incorporates the flowers of the region into the pictures!! Lovely!!! Thank You. Also, what a truly wonderful company to gift you an Electric Bike. It looks like a truly awesome dirt road bike!!! Congrats to you and the Company Cyrusher for providing you with this wonderful present.
Congratulations! I want one now!
I think you should call the bike "Larky"
Or even "Sparky Larky"
Safe travels!
Let’s all chip in and buy a second bike 🚴. Who’s with me? ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
Alex was cussing like a sailor I am so tickled. I laughed till I hurt.
Wow! You can really ride in style to the harbor on that bike to fish for tea!! (God bless America 🙏🦅)
Thank you so much from Berlin, Germany, for your amazing quiet sunday afternoon entertainment , that always calms me down so much! I would name your new bike "SCOTTY"...first because of your and also my beloved country...and otherwise ..because of "SCOTTY "from Starship Enterprise for new adventures..Hope to visit Scotland in nearer future..many goood vibes from me..Gabi💕
Totally love this.Laughing soooo hard,especially with Alex bleeping.Great finds.What a lark.
The two of you are such a delight to watch!!! It is wonderful that you will be able to go to further places without having to spend most of your day walking. Thank you for sharing all of your adventures with us. You make my day!
What an awesome new toy! Tell you what, though: that orange Rascal is HUGE! I've seen other e-bikes on other channels that are substantially smaller but still very capable for off-road -- something to consider if you're looking for a second bike. Nifty finds, too. And, most importantly, who knew that Alex could BEEP so proficiently! I'm impressed.
What do you mean you are not cool people? We all wish we lived next to you and could go on adventures with you. You 2 are the coolest people I know!
I had to hold my stomach because I was laughing so hard. I could only think “The bike’s run away with our Alex!”
What an exciting gift! We’re looking forward to all the gems you can find using your new “beast”! 😆That’s the perfect name Alex!! Stay safe riding and can’t wait for next adventure finds!!😃👍
I've got to say, this is one of the best-paid advertisements I've had the pleasure of viewing, you didn't fabulous job.
Wow! Very exciting!
What a kind gesture from the company that gave it to you.
Have fun with it. 😊
This was so extraordinarily gorgeous! The countryside is stunningly beautiful-- heaven on Earth, and your filming is also so lovely. Thank you for the long, lovely views of the country roads and fields. Charming, as ever!!
😂😂😂 Alex is having a blast 👍👍 Alright, now getting back to the video. What a terrific gift!!!!
Alright, my suggestion is a simple one: James (as in “Home, James”!).
All those BLEEPS Alex said! 😂😂oh so funny!!
How absolutely wonderful! ! I’m thrilled to be going on new adventures with you both, to those wonderful places you can now access!!!
I could've sworn I read the word Oregon on that chain saw sharpener 🤔
The little buckles and the slate clock pieces; that was such an odd thing to end up in that river, a slate clock.
Me too!! How funny, but it could be because I am only about 40 mile from the Oregon border on the California side.
I think your new member looks like a Charlie. So happy for you, hope you get his brother or beefy sister soon. Congratulations!!!
I went back to the video & it does say "Oregon." I live in Portland, OR.
I’m not jealous and if you think I am your wrong ….. ok your right omg !!! Amazing
You're both treasure and gem hunters... so call your new bike Indiana Stones! You two crack me up. So much fun watching your adventures. (It's a leeeeeeeg!)
And then call the second one (whenever you get it!) the Rolling Stones. Get it???
Do you know how long the battery lasts before it needs charging?
Fabulous episode and fantastic ebike! Thank you all for making and sharing this video!
Gail,Kate,I am a primitivist,I don’t own a television, and it is so very fun to see the two of you larking about on this modern thing!
May you have numerous adventures North wise ❤️
Just don’t call him “Bikey McBike Bike”!
😂😫😂
It's Gail and Alex, not Kate. You must also watch Kit and Caboodlers. They're another mother and daughter team of mudlarks, named Fleur and Kate.
Yôu can't be very good one, being you're on the internet 🙄
Many exciting crystal hunting adventures are ahead❤️
This is fun, bleep, oh Alex, bleep, slow down Alex, bleep, bleep bleep. Oh Alex 🤣😂. Have fun!
I think your bike's name you already gave it, The Beast, is perfect, because it is like a pack mule, a beast of burden....can't wait until you have two and we get to follow your bike trips together!
THE BEAST! YES!
I could not think of a more perfect couple to test and enjoy this amazing machine. Let's hope they send another one so you can both enjoy the adventuresun you both enjoy
What a fantastic electric bike!! It looks like such fun! A generous gift to be sure.
So beautiful riding in a area like that ! Just gorgeous!🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤ I like the medal with the dancing children !👼💜👼💜✌🏼💜✌🏼💜🦋💜🦋💜
“Blaze” 🔥 seems like a fitting name. Not only for the color but for cutting through the trails avidly. It’s a very attractive bike, along with being very practical and full of new adventures. Quite an interesting bit of finds to see as always. 😊🧡
Oh my gosh, this is my very favorite video of yours so far! I've never laughed with anything as hard as with y'all with your new bike! Thank you so much for sharing with us, and I honestly think he looks very dragon like. Crystals, big strong dragon😃
Where you live is so beautiful! Your adventures and enthusiasm make you both so fun to watch. Enjoy the new motor bike and please be careful. 🥰
Congratulations on ROCKY you deserve it 🤩🤩🤩❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
As an ebike owner, it his worth remembering that their acceleration is very rapid! Bit of a leaning curve, more like riding a moped. Remember to keep the tyres pumped up hard, it extends battery life.
How adorable to see you two biking. Practice and have fun
Gail and Alex, this tag along with you ladies is a favorite, exciting and I most Enjoyed the beautiful scenery, glad for the share on the new e-bike. 🥳 🤗
How fun, even thru video! am sold on it, I except didn't ride a bike til I was in my early thirties and tried again two decades later...🤣 😆🤣 At 75 twould be a challenge. 😳
Awesome finds! 💫 Blessings everyone. Be safe and well. 🙏🏻💖
Hello Gail and Alex! What an awesome E-Bike...how wonderful to receive it for furthering your mudlarking adventures. Loved all the strange but cool finds, that brass bar is amazing. I think a good name for your newest member should be "Larken" or "Digger" or "Maximillion" (Max for short).😁 Since he will be used in your "larking" or "digging" adventures to find "maximum" treasures...any of those names should fit him well Lol😂 Big ((Hugs)) and Love from Texas!!🤗🧡😜
Lawrence of Arabia was an aficionado of motorcycles over a hundred years ago and owned many until his death. One of his favorites he named Boarerges, which is Aramaic for “Son of Thunder”. It came to mind immediately when you wanted to hear name suggestions for your bike.
I love your channel!! When will you be opening your Etsy shop again?
Wow, what a great gift!!! Looking forward to the many adventures it'll take y'all on!!! Lovely finds, too!
Would be great to have an electric bike each with helmets and carrier bags. So much fun. Very cool sponsor. This will definitely take your adventures to the next level. I'm excited for you both. xo
you already have a name for it... the beast!
02:55 OMG!! Is that a white Shwoo over by the stone building? 😲😲 That would be so lovely for brown Shwoo. 😁🥰😂
So I read the title of the thumbnail, and thought, "Hmmph! Three's a crowd! I don't like the idea of another person horning in." The laugh's on me, eh? 🤣🤣🤣 It's a what, not a who. 😁😍 I'm sure if you shop around, you'll be able to find a 2nd e-bike that's affordable. Loved the river lark today. See you next time, ladies, and The Beast. 🤣😘🤗💖👍👋
I totally loved the skid shot 🏍️
Oh I hope they send you another one! How very cool!
Now that was a proper demonstration and review of the bike. Definitely worthy of a 2nd gifted by the manufacturer! Can’t wait to see new adventures!
Wow! You girls so deserve! Xx
That little stream is so calming. The scenery is gorgeous! Sure looks like a heavy-duty bike. Keep having fun and thank you!
9:00 Stonefly's :)
Stonefly nymphs have 2 tails
Mayfly nymphs have 3 tails
they were lovely specimens by the way, and the nymph case shows they very recently broke free and took flight.
I’m so happy for you both! Looks like fun!
Congratulations 👏👏 on your bike you are so fortunate to receive such a nice item ,👍😊👏❤️
Good for you both! You deserve it! Enjoy!
What a great addition! They choose the very best people to send it to. Great job!
Hello ladies it's so good to see you both and your treasures.
Congratulations on the bike! I hope you are able to get the second one very soon. Yes, you are two very cool people, and I love hanging out with you on TH-cam! I would call him Cyrus.
So happy you were blessed with a new bike. Yay!!!
Love all your finds.
Congrats. 🎉
What a cool bike and Eco friendly as well.I couldn't help but think about all the history the two of you uncover and graciously share with us and what the person who invented the bike would think of if they saw it.Happy larking in all the new accessible areas that the "Lark Ranger"takes you.Karl
The figure you described as an angel in the cast brass scene may be the figure of Victory or of Pax (peace). It looks as if she's holding an olive branch. An allegorical scene of some sort, part of a larger composition, perhaps set in a wall. Intriguing find, for sure.
You two are a twin pair of Hysteria I laughed so hard watching you get used to those bikes and kudos to you for putting them together. I sure do wish I had someone to go on adventures with.
I am so happy for you both to be given such an awesome gift. Now I want one! Congratulations on being so awesome!
Artair is the Scottish Gaelic form of Arthur. Derived from the Celtic elements "artos" (bear) combined with "rixs" (king). Artair is just as strong as Arthur but has an old world feel. 😊
Happy for you to have a bike. Caution, plz be careful of the battery when charging. I've seen the batteries catch fire even when just resting. This just looks like so much fun for you both!
What a lovely gift! Now you need another one!
A name for your fine new vehicle: Gladisant, the questing beast! From T.H. White’s “The Once and Future King.” And since he’s electric, he leaves no fewmits out in pristine natural settings. Lol.
At 11:13, the steel reels near where Alex put the clock mechanism down are actually railway semaphore signal pulley reels (I think) and they usually have the railway company embossed in the casting! 12:37, that's an old clamp type insulator that had a second inner piece with a woodscrew that clamped the cable as it was screwed into beams. I think your one has embossing on the base (probably a UK made one and looks bigger than my bright white european made example! They are a nice find. I'll comment more as I watch 😂 I also share the love of old marked bricks and I use the ones I find as saw tooth garden edging. I think my highlight was Alex flying towards that barn shouting "Sh!t the bed!" 😂 That bike is brilliant! You could get a regular bike and tow the other person behind 🤔
Ok you two are definitely having too much fun 😂😂 what a super bike and you did an amazing job on the review. Can’t wait to see both of you riding together crystal hunting and getting to places you’ve never been able to get too. Take care and thank you very much for sharing 👍🙏❤️
What an absolutely epic gift xx Enjoy xx
Hello Ladies, wow what a fantastic gift!
I'd love one too please but I am not quite 5ft tall so not sure how I would go?!
I think his name should be Cyril, Cyrus or Crusher!
Hope you both have a fabulous week ahead.
Regards, Sandie, Melbourne, Australia 🥰
What a cool bike! You lucky girls!🚲❤ The buckles and "Roman" pieces are awesome.
Lighter then a motor cycle!!! That’s an amazing bike. Casey!!! the train went up the hills saying I think I can I think I can then says I thought I could I thought I could on the way down!!!! I think you can go anywhere now!
Wow that's great. All that heavy druid stuff didn't break your backs! I love it! I've got to get one and build a seat for to secure my Shadow for ridding into town. How awesome ❣️🤙 the beast is great!! Flying 🔥
That looks like a great bike, a massive thanks from the Skill School. 👍
You both had so much fun. Very happy for you.
Jack O because he is such a lovely pumpkin orange color. When you have the headlight on he would truly be a Jack O Lantern.
What a wonderful addition to your life! Happy for you!
Wonderful addition to Northern Mudlarks.
What a gift. 😮 Congratulations!
When I still had my house I was clearing the bottom reaches of the garden and I dug up a scythe sharpener and a 16th C pipe bowl. The sharpener was mislaid when I moved but I still have the pipe bowl. One of my treasures. By the way the slate tiles would make a nice wind charm. Love watching your videos. Please be careful on the bike. Full PPE every time.
You two are sooo inspiring! Look at you go... assembling a bike and riding it as well!,,
Those slate rectangles would make a lovely sounding wind chime !!
Congratulations, ladies, on the new bike. I think you had a perfect name when you called it the beast.❤❤
The stone sharpener is called a Carborundum stone, ive got an almost hardly used one that belonged to my Father-in-law so its quite old. Love your findings, and the bike seems exciting id love one. Thanks Girls xxxx
Judging by the dress of the soldiers and angel - I think they are more likely to be Persian. They did have shields with arcs missing at each side. Super cool bike and amazing scenery!
More adventures! Yahooo!
😅you two ladies are so my heros... Doing things I wish I could do. Like going to the beach and finding beach glass and crystals and gems.. Its so hard for me to bend now days. And now you have a new electric bike to go on more adventures! Enjoy this new toy. I think a good name would be Yoda, because he's a tough old boy ❤❤😂😮 Get it Toy Yoda?😅😉
That looks like soooo much fun! What a fun video watching you two take turns on the bike. Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see the crystals that you find.
Those slate tiles would make a nice sounding wind chime. ;) Awesome job with that cool bike girls. Love the color of it.
"Trigger" bike name. :) for the way it takes off.
Congrats on the new E-Bike! Wonderful finds.
Nice to see your new wheels, adventure and finds.
I’ve been so busy cross pond in Maine and have had to catch up with my loves!! You amaze me so much!! Love 💕 the E-bike!! More ground to cover and to take us on new adventures!! Xxoo
This is fantastic! I am so tickled for you both! Speeding on the new adventures! Beautiful finds!
So much fun. I am physically challenged and was very sad when I could no longer ride but last year I got an electric tricycle. My hubs has a 2 wheel folding electric bike and we love biking again.
How wonderful !
Hello girls! God bless you both! The Orange Dream Machine, is lovely. Please be careful, keep it slow. You two make my day joyful! Always a pleasure. Your friend and fan, Kevin
Crane Foundry produced a wide range of irons. Heater box irons were heated by a piece of hot iron, known as a slug, which was heated on the kitchen range, in front of the fire or in an oven and inserted into the iron while still hot.
Got an E bike at 60 years of age. This is my third summer now and it is a complete game changer. So delighted to see your reaction and unboxing of your bike. Your bike will give you such a grand opportunity to see nature in a new way. To discover new paths. It’s giving me endless joy. Happy larking
PS my bikes name is Rosie from AC/DC’s ‘A Whole Lotta Rosie’, because she’s a big boned gal and likes to have fun 🇨🇦
So, those of us on 'Imperial' weight is about 90 pounds. And, I suggest Albert for Albert the Great - cause it is so GREAT!
That’s an awesome bike, I’m most definitely going to look them up! I especially like how well built it looks.
