Read the manual. It takes 1.55 litter in the oil tank and .3 in the cranck shaft. Total of oil needed is little less than 2 litters otherwise oil will be going into your air filter.
I accidentally put 1.5 in the motor and .5 in the tank and I drained it and re did it with .5 in the motor and 1.5 in the tank to much oil in the motor will blow your crank case seals out!!! Don’t just dump both of them in there and trust that the machine will sort it out for you they’re expensive to fix when blown up 😂
I jus need to know what the two tanks are for cause I’m a new Yamaha 450 owner and Yamaha in general so I jus need someone to tell me what the difference is between the two tanks
Black one in the front is the oil tank and inside the engine is where the crankshaft is. When doing oil change it requires 1.55L in the oil tank (front) and .3 in the crank shaft (inside motor)
you've got it torqued way too tight if it's that hard tor emove, buy yourself a torque wrench and see how little is actually needed. I learned I was overtordqing things like crazy.
Question, I just drained my oil in my 2010 yz 450f and put in the 1 quart that it’s supposed to have (from what the owners manual says). I notice that when I start the bike, the oil goes to the top of the sightglass and starts bubbling a little bit. Looks like air bubbles floating to the top. Do I have too much oil!? Need help!
Guys so I went to do the oil change & filter...and on the filter cap one of the 3 bolts is bad it won't come out.. how can I get it out?!? Please help!!
I definitely agree, everything about the "correct way" is wrong. Idk if this was as bad or worse that another video I watched the guy literally put his brand new oil filter into his drain pan full of the old oil smh. I know I'm not the smartest person out there but come one
I used a hex key to remove the bolts from the filter. I recommend every time you change your oil because it is so easy to do and good for the bike, but you don't have to.

Exactly what happened to me so now how do i fix this issue?😭🤦🏽♂️
@@jahariwilliams776you ever fix your yfz450
Title should be HOW NOT TO CHANGE OIL IN 450
If you want to do it the right way, you also have to replace the rubber on the filter cover, but I don't see you doing that
Ive always done a quart down the case and a quart in the pump
I had to sign in. This is wrong lol .5 liters in engine and 1.5 in oil tank
Thank you I do it that way too but I was about to listen to him because I thought I was doing it wrong
MACHINE OIL AND BLOCK OIL ARE DISTRIBUTED FROM THE SAME PLACE?
IS THERE ANY OTHER OIL CHANGE PLACE?
.5liters in oil tank & 1.5liters in engine. You dont want a dry engine

Yup bro is trippin definitely overfilled
im sorry but this is not even close to the right way to change 450 oil
Seriously couldnt agree more
@@devonlumia7301 I really hope someone that has never changed oil on pretty much anything uses this as "how to properly change your oil"
And why is that
Somethingelseoutdoors he didn’t drain the oil tank. Big mistake
@@mr.fluffy2107 can you explain that to me I am curious.i just got a yfz yesterday and I have been trying to figure out why that is
He said finger it out😂😂😂😂

Great video, where did u get those rubber pads on the side where your legs grip onto
Lol those are tank grippers for a motorcycle not for a atv 😂
Why does this ATV have no dip stick.
bc its gay
IS THERE ANY OTHER OIL CHANGE PLACE?
Awesome video
MACHINE OIL AND BLOCK OIL ARE DISTRIBUTED FROM THE SAME PLACE?
Are the dip stick and crank case cap factory or did you order metal ones. Mine are plastic and wood like to switch them out
How many hours? How many hours to cilinder/piston change on road useage?
Great video!
I put 1 quart in the crank case and another one in the other tank

He didn’t drain the catch can
What's the catch can? Please help I just bought my yfz 450
@@Godaboveall24_7 there is no catch can . thats what he dropped the oil in the old oil xD
If you want to do this right, do NOT do what this guy does, he does it wrong, It should say How NOT to change your YFZ450 oil...
But you don’t say what is he doing wrong?
Why would you take the skid off.
So you don’t make a mess

Gotta work it out
Stripped screw extractor from Lowe's cheap... It'll come out no problem for future people having the same problem
This video should be taken down.

Where did you get the rubber pads??
Thats what I was wo during too.
What tool did you use to remove the bolts from the oil filter? And do you need to change it every time you do an oil change?
