- Part of The Shear Zone Channel. This is a worked example of solving a three point problem to predict the depth to the top of an aquifer in a borehole, based on the depth of the aquifer encountered in three other boreholes. This is a classical application of the method, a fundamental tool in subsurface geoscience. You can find a clean copy of the exercise on the Shear Zone website theshearzone.wordpress.com/ge....
Thanks Rob. I'm a second year geoscience student in Victoria, Australia. Really enjoying your videos whilst on semester break. Cheers 👍
Great - glad they're of interest. Enjoy your semester break!
Very nice, thank you!
Is this example aquifer confined? Potentiometric surfaces vs groundwater elevations would be an interesting topic.
Sure it would - once you've defined the 3D shape and place of the host formation (which is what this is about). Refinement comes next....thanks for the comment.
I have a question about soustraction for depth of aquifer in triangle why 25-40 is 15 m same other so 45?
Sorry - don't understand your question. Try again?
How could I contact you plz?
if you have a question or reflection on any of the videos, why not pop it in the comments? I try to turn around responses fairly promptly. Otherwise I google…
@@robbutler2095 thanks..I have some Questions in kink band method and need your assistance
