    You're 100% spot on regarding if we fail to strengthen the starting 11 it's a massive risk. We're 1 or 2 injuries away from a crisis

    The january transfer window is made for short term fix, the last time we made panic buys was for Howe's 1st window. I can't stress how important it is to get some signings even on loan this winter. Isak and Murphy need backup/competition at the very least.

    Our first team can beat anyone if they are fit and firing but beyond that we don't have much strength in depth I still think we are taking a big risk if we don't bring anyone in this window. Great video Craig

    Regarding the new training ground and looking at Madrid and other high level training centres - know the Gosforth park area well I’m not sure the footprint could hold multiple pitches, offices, academy, ladies facilities, small stadium -take a look at areal shots it’s big but not that big even if golf course is used - what’s your thoughts on this ?

    Great post Craig .. take care on your travels .. that's great news about Populus .. I might not be super popular on saying this but the new ground has to be the way forward. That will do so much more for Newcastle in terms of PSR if, as you have indicated, if those folks at Populus can do for us what they are doing for Tottenham and others, this can translate into being able to act in windows where we currently find our hands tied. Hopefully we'll get back to winning ways tomorrow yes, I feel like we can also and likely will do so. Away the lads 😂 🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤

    If it is going to be years away still, we need to further upgrade the current training ground alongside plans for the new one. At Darsley Park, we have upgraded what is there in the current building but the place needs to be physically bigger. Like you touch on in this video, the current training ground needs to be extended. It needs to be done if a whole new training ground is still 5-6 years away.

    We have been top of the league for injuries for the last 20 years.
    We've had different managers, coaches, medical staff, physios, but year after year we have the most horrendous injury record.

    My concern is it seems like Mitchell looks to be repeating his performance in the last transfer window in this transfer window - in that Mitchell and Howe have a list of scouted, discussed and agreed targets prior to the window. But then Mitchell just watches them all sign for other clubs. Which is why he got to the desperate point last window of trying to save face by getting the final remaining name on the list, but having to bid way over the odds. And then when that failed he started trying to suggest new random names that either hadn't made the pre-agreed list or hadn't been discussed.
    That looks to have happened with the man city new signing - on the list but slipping through his fingers.
    On top of that, his job is also to move players on at best time for our funds but without negatively impacting the team. He also hasn't done this.
    For someone so vocal in his negative comments on the previous transfer performance, he sure is taking his time to do anything to help us improve.

    Situation seems so unbelievably clear does it not? There won’t be any reinforcements this window. Eddie, and us fans, of course would dearly love some but they won’t come at the risk of point deductions for falling foul of PSR. I don’t want a winger in this window if it means a 4-10 point penalty next term. Perhaps the squad is at risk of becoming stale, perhaps not, it certainly didn’t look stale during the winning run. but if there is no headroom there is no headroom. It’s absolutely guaranteed he’d of received a healthy signing on bonus as he was a free agent. By the time you factor in agent fees he probably stands the club about £10 million…. Hence a sale makes no economical sense especially when you factor in he would need to be replaced…..

    As you said Craig 3 windows since a first team player brought in and although they have spent a significant amount of money in the early days the spending has slowed down significantly on all fronts. I believe at this point PIF have spent no monies that could not be recouped in full by a sale of the club. ( their buying of AS share valued the club at 1 billion which would show a nice profit)

    At least this means that the Saudis are in for the long haul. I was concerned that they would sell up and move on given the obstacles that the Premier league keeps putting in their way.

    I only got 4 minutes into this vlog. But does anyone consider that the players would want champions league football rather than a new training ground to be the big issue.
    I think that that opportunity was lost last week with the defeat by Bournemouth. So how many top players will still be at Newcastle to enjoys this marvellous training ground.

    The most frustrating club to be a fan of, we never do anything efficiently.
    We take too long on transfers and lose out.
    We have dragged our feet on sponsors which would have helped PSR massively.
    We are 3 years into the project and we are only now discussing training ground plans that have been promised since takeover! Don't even start on how long we are waiting for a new stadium! All this should have been done immediately after the takeover was confirmed!

    It makes no sense from a financial point of view that the club cannot bring in the right player this window. If they can do business in the summer then surely they can do it now as well.

    • @gruffy4967
      @gruffy4967 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Business in which summer, last or this coming one? Last summer, then they would have had to balance the books by selling, so who out of the first team will you pick to go? Next summer, the PSR annual figures reset on 30 June so they can go again for that year and three year cycle. It’s pretty simple, they spaffed too much money on too few players. Not that they were bad players, just players we couldn’t afford for PSR at the time. The6 needed twice as many coming in which meant younger players for development.

    • @jesperfuglsang
      @jesperfuglsang 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@gruffy4967 Howe has said they can do business in the summer. If they can do business in the summer surely they can do business now. Any player who isn't first choice are sellable in my books (disregarding young talent). Some first choice players , who shouldn't be a starter are sellable as well.

    • @gruffy4967
      @gruffy4967 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@jesperfuglsang There are plenty of articles on the PSR situation. If they spent 70 million in the summer or now, they need a major sale going out. Isak, Bruno, Gordon, Tonali would make enough to spend on a big player. Maybe Botman, his remaining amortisation amount may make it worth doing if we make a good profit on him. Barnes? Sell him for 30 million and you’ve probably made somewhere between a PSR loss and 5 million profit. You can maybe make 5 to ten million on Hall, probably less on Livramento.
      So who exactly out of the first four are you selling now?
      And then factor in squad unity, squad and tactical fit, then how long Eddie usually takes to get them up to fitness and then integrating them.
      A signing may be nice for this season, but this club is here for centuries, with PSR we cannot make a mistake with 70 million, 10 to 15, like Osula, maybe losing a few million maybe okay, but not 70. I think the Guehi deal was either a loan to buy or staged payments, the bulk after next PSR period.

      @ The club has been operating at a loss since the takeover, that surely isn’t a surprise, going on the official website will tell you they lost 73 million year ending 30 June 2023, 71 million to 30 June 2024. Last year they eventually made a profit of 28 million.
      However, what do you think they used to make the signings of Hall, Osula, Pivas, Vlachodimos? That is 69 million or thereabouts. They have made signings, just no5 big name, flash ones.

    What is a football club at it's very root? It's 11 players going out in front of their fans trying to win a football match. Everything else after that should be in support of that primary goal. Now as much as we would all love to boast that our club has world class facilities & a stadium that is the boast of the league it's a simple fact that with the PSR restrictions we are operating under we simply cannot afford to do that right now. Not when we are threadbare in terms of the playing squad. I don't see the logic in using what little money we have available improving infrastructure when we are literally running on fumes with our match day squad? Maybe i'm missing something here but infrastructure projects increase the value of the club as a re-sellable asset to the benefit of the owners but does nothing for eddie howe & his staff nor helps the current players who are having to run themselves into the ground to stay available week after week as we don't have the players to rest & rotate our first 11 & remain competitive. Infrastructure projects are nothing but vanity projects for the suits! Sorry for the rant, cheers as always craig.
