I saw your old video about testing heating elements and remembered. Used my multimeter to test the element on an M-4 hydrocollator. A huge help, thank you!
Overtemp protection reset has a copper capillary tube with a pin hole - allowed pressure to escape so device was always in overtemp reset mode. Chattanooga Hydrocollator

You said you were contracted out to replace the part. Did you find a different issue with the device?

@@BetterBiomedChannel Neat. I just took a look at the service manual but still can't wrap my head around the overtemp thermostat 😅
I'll do a video when the parts come in to rebuild a second device.
