Absolutely superb explanation. As a complete beginner in spey casting and rookie in one hand casing this was very helpful and earns a like and a subscription! I'll be going to Soča river next week to try to catch a Marble trout with a brand new Sage Igniter 7wt spey rod and I used it only once and got some distance but this video gave me key elements I was missing. Simon is the best, respect. Greetings from Slovenia

Honestly I so wish I watched that a few years back. Absolutely the best explanation of spey casting mechanics

Just got my first spey outfit (trout). This was a lesson I shall watch many times! Thank you Simon for helping me understand why I was an idiot. I so hope to be worthy of the hat someday. It might be sooner thanks to you.😊😊😊😊

This was very very basic for me but I understand this is super important to a new caster or someone going back to break down the casts. I do love listening to Simon and have the upmost respect for how he conducts himself, one of the very best instructors out there!

Combining all the Simon videos’s key point, that's what we really need.I have learned so much from Simom, and want to buy the book he written about spey casting, it is a little expensive, but worth it.

Just got my first two-hander. Best explanation of fundamentals yet. Memorable analogies on fundamentals I can (hopefully) translate into new skills.

That was great. Thank you for the walkthrough. I just got my first switch rod and took it out yesterday. I had some good casts but wasn’t consistent. Now I know what to work on.

So good explanation... I am owerhelmed! Spey casting is without false cast and there is question for case to cast with dry fly. How I dry my fly when there is no false cast? Or does it means spey casting is only for wet fly maybe soft hackle?

Was that someone's line going through the frame behind Mr. Gawesworth at around 03:55 onwards, while he's mentioning the roll cast? Geez, personal space! 😆
Thanks very much for the presentation, Mr. Gawesworth and #HouseofFly it is always a good thing to get back to basics. I have yet to attain my 'Spey Ambassador' hat, because I am still learning after 12+ yrs of 2-handed casting. Nice work everyone! Learning every day!
